The Last Few Months...

Last Few days in Texas

We sold our house in Lumberton pretty quickly...actually during our drive to Virgina...it was a little sad seeing the house for the last time...but off to our new adventure!

Before we left Texas Alex had his last hurrah...

Here's Alex at the Globetrotters basketball game in Beaumont and then horseback riding at a friend's birthday party.

Adjusting to a new place

Alex lost another tooth on his first day at his new school in Virgina

On the day of our move into the new house, a neighbor's tree fell across the street...yes, that is the corner of our moving truck...if the tree would have fallen towards our new house, the moving van would have been crushed...we were pretty lucky!

Alex turns the BIG 5!

We celebrated Alex's 5th Birthday while we were still living in the hotel...I can't believe he's already 5! Such a big Boy definitely deserved a brand new Big Boy Bike! He's loved riding with mom, dad and his brothers along all the cool biking trails that are around the DC area!

Our new Backyard...Washington DC!
We have definitely taken advantage of being so close to Washington DC...here's a few pics.

Alex with Mom at the White House and the boys enjoying riding their bikes with the White house in the background!

Here are the boys at one of our many visits to the Air and Space Museum

A future pilot perhaps? Grandpa would be proud!

We've been enoying some of the local shops...like this ice cream shop near our house.

A little relief from the heat...only Alex seems to enjoy the water though...the other cowboys prefer to just get dirty and run around!

ALEX GRADUATES from PRE-School

Here's our super cute Pre-school graduate! He is getting ready to start Kindergarten in a few weeks!

The proud parents with Alex!

The twins also had their end-of-the-school year festivities...it was celebrating the various countries around the World...Zach went to Korea and Matthew got to go to Poland!

There's Zach (next to the girl waving the flag) enjoying the attention...and Matthew not so much (holding his hand in his mouth the entire time at the end of the line)

Here's a couple random pictures of the twins dressed up...Zachary and Matthew.

Goodbye Texas, Welcome Virginia

Yes, we are still alive. We have not posted for a while because we've been very busy the last few months. Well, we have finally moved to Fairfax, Virginia and are finally getting settled into the new house.

We spent our first month in Virginia in a hotel...not a fun activity with 3 growing boys. We have been in our house for about 3 weeks now and are still doing some unpacking!

The boys are really enjoying their new school and we are enjoying the weather...it's great to be able to eat outside almost every night!

I will post some recent pictures soon...still haven't found our cables to be able to download the pictures off the camera.

Wisconsin Surprise

Couple of weeks ago, Alex and I decided to pay my sister a surprise visit in Wisconsin...she absolutely had no idea that we were coming! It was awesome!

Jake, her husband, came up with a plan to lure her to a basketball game at the high school he works for by saying that Coach K from Duke was coming to scout their top boys player.

She was very disappointed and almost angry that she came to a girls game instead, that is until she saw Alex and I in the stands...here's a little video of the surprise.

Aunt Ewie happy to see Alex

Alex loved playing with his new best friend...Bubba (my sister's yellow lab)...they were literally rolling around the floor nonstop with Alex laughing hysterically as Bubba would lick his ears or sniff his hair.

Alex and Bubba...best buds!

Alex definintely had a blast playing in the snow, which he doesn't get to see very often in Texas. Here are some pics and videos of our fun in the snow...

Uncle Jake, Alex and Aunt Ewie ready for the fun in the snow! Alex looks like he might be ready to go skiing next year!

First ride down the hill with Uncle Jake

Mom and Alex loving the cold weather (it was -10°F in the morning with a wind chill of about -20°F)

More fun in the snow...

Holidays - Part 2

We started off the Christmas season by getting our first Real Christmas Tree from a local Christmas tree farm (we have always had a fake tree since we've been married, but decided to change it up this year - we didn't even know that there were tree farms so close to where we lived).

Here we are looking for our tree...we even got a tractor ride to see the whole tree farm!
There's our 9 foot beauty all cut down and loaded up...and the boys in front of the tree once we got it home.

One good thing about living in a small town (I think this is the only good thing i can think of) is that the town does really cute things for the kids during the holidays... For example, they have Santa drive around the neighborhoods on a fire truck throwing candy canes.
Here are they boys waiting in the front yard patiently for Santa....notice the tunnel of lights up our driveway (very Clark Griswald)

Alex and the twins were quite the performers at their school's Christmas show.
Alex as Frosty the Snowman....and the twins ringing their little bells (ok...Matt doesn't seem all that excited, but at least he didn't cry...Zach was actually really cute and got some laughs from the audience when he noticed us in the crowd and would wave and scream"Hi mommy, Hi daddy")
I had some great videos of the show...but it was really taking way too long to download onto the blog...Oh well!

We had a very full house on Christmas Eve...my parents, my sister, her husband Jake, their dog Bubba and Jake's parents shared in the festivities...even Santa made an appearance!
Alex very happy to see Santa!
Matt is not too sure about this Santa fella...Zach is pretty happy to see him (as always they seem to be 180° apart)
The boys getting their toys from Santa!
