Love, Compassion, Dependence, Humility & Wisdom

The polytechnic ministry of SYFC is sending a team of poly students for a mission trip to Macau. This is the second team going to the same place; it is also my second trip there. A team of 8 of us and 2 staff will be there from March 31 - April 10 2007. Macau was chosen as we want to expose our Christian youth in polytechnic to understand the influence and effects of gambling and casinos to the lives of families and youths. You might know by now that almost all the polytechnics already have introduced courses related to running of the integrated resort in Singapore.

When I heard about the second trip in late 2006. I remembered the response I gave to the leader was that I did not feel like going, giving reasons which seemed to me valid. God showed me that He is in charge. He not only changed the situation but also changed my heart. One of the reasons I gave was that the dates of the trip clash with my internship period. However, this “reason” was not strong enough and I was asked to pray about it. About a month later, the polytechnic approved my internship at the Singapore Youth for Christ (Media Ministry). Come Reign in My Heart

You’ve said in Your word You have a plan for me (Ephesians 1:11-12)
That You’ve given Your everything to set me free (Romans 8:32)
You’ve promised to stick with me no matter what (Jeremiah 32:40)
And nothing can separate me from Your love (Romans 8:38-39)

And when the storms seem too big to withstand
You’ve said You’ll be my shelter (Psalm 31:20)
This Rock on which I can firmly stand (2 Samuel 22:2-4)
As I sing this covenant song

This rainbow is in my heart (Genesis 9:13-15)
The promises made that You’ll never be afar
The words that You gave
Would You help me seal them in my heart?

(Oh Lord of my life)
Your love endures forever (Psalm 118:1)
Your glory and majesty covers all the earth (1 Chronicles 29:10-12)
As I open my eyes to the day that You’ve made
Lord I ask... that You’ll reign in my heart
Come reign in my heart

You’ve said that if I should seek then I will find (Matthew 7:7)
You’ll wipe away every tear that’s in my eye (Revelation 21:3-4)
As a sheperd who tends to his flock You’ve held me close (Isaiah 40:11)
There is nothing to fear because You’re always here (Isaiah 41:10)
