The polytechnic ministry of SYFC is sending a team of poly students for a mission trip to Macau. This is the second team going to the same place; it is also my second trip there. A team of 8 of us and 2 staff will be there from March 31 - April 10 2007. Macau was chosen as we want to expose our Christian youth in polytechnic to understand the influence and effects of gambling and casinos to the lives of families and youths. You might know by now that almost all the polytechnics already have introduced courses related to running of the integrated resort in Singapore.
When I heard about the second trip in late 2006. I remembered the response I gave to the leader was that I did not feel like going, giving reasons which seemed to me valid. God showed me that He is in charge. He not only changed the situation but also changed my heart. One of the reasons I gave was that the dates of the trip clash with my internship period. However, this “reason” was not strong enough and I was asked to pray about it. About a month later, the polytechnic approved my internship at the Singapore Youth for Christ (Media Ministry). Later on, the polytechnic also approved this overseas trip during the internship with “no questions asked”. I believe that all these fall into God’s plan. However, this is not the only incident God used to counter my “reasons”. There were a few more....
