Price To Follow Christ

Just like the song 'Angels Brought Me Here' which says 'It has been a long and winding journey...' It has indeed been a long and winding journey for me since 2 to 3 years ago. I had been pursuing my own desires and my own happiness in this world. I had been searching aimlessly for something called true love, though I finally realised that I can only find true love in the presence of the Lord - because God is love.

For those who know me well enough, they should be able to know that there is a her present in my life since quite some time ago. I tried many ways to pursue that dream that appeared impossible to achieve. Perhaps I thought that was true love I was experiencing then. Or maybe I still think so. However, I fear that that pursuit of true love would not go in accordance to His will and His plan for me. Is she God-sent? Or is she just someone that I had been trying hard to pursue?

I suddenly realised that it is meaningless and it is a contrary to pursue my own dreams and desires. I have a God up there who already have planned for whatever to come into my life and no matter what I go after, if they are not in His plan, nothing will stay. And how can I be a faithful servant of Christ if I carry on chasing after my hopes and dreams?

Perhaps there is really a price to be paid in order to follow Christ. Letting go and Letting God to take full control is not an option but a must. I suddenly thought of another song.

I have decided to follow Jesus.
I have decided to follow Jesus.
I have decided to follow Jesus.
No turning back!
No turning back!

The world behind me,
the Cross before me.
The world behind me,
the Cross before me.
The world behind me,
the Cross before me.
No turning back!
No turning back!

True indeed. If I am really willing to follow Christ, I must be also willing to leave the world behind. Just like the scripture has said, "Light and darkness can never be together."

Perhaps it is really time for me to let go of the pursuit of this love and to let God make the final decision of all choices in my life. Like she used to say, "If we are meant to be together, one day we will be. If we are not, we can never be." If God really meant her to be in my life, perhaps one day we will be together.

Faith, I Do Not See, But I Believe

My path may be rocky
And water may flood my plains
The mountains may over-shadow me
But they will never over-power me

Life may not go with my plans
Pains and sorrows may not end
But I know that I am led by You
That Higher Hand is leading me

Master of creation
Ruler of man
There's so much
I'll never comprehend
Why you came to die for man
You suffered all as I gain
Through your blood and by your pain
You brought freedom to this land
And for all that You have gave
I give you praises for Your grace

For I know that without Grace,
I will never stand today

Strangers, Friends & Lovers

Light Up For Eternity

Ever had such thought that life is like a platform. You meet a lot of people throughout the journey of life. However, they are like trains. They only stopped at the platform for a while and they left. What do you call these people then? Acquaintances, Strangers or Friends?

What are friends then? If you were to ask a primary school kid, he would tell you that a friend is someone who plays with you and never laugh at your wrongs. A young teenager would tell you that a friend is someone who shares your joys and sorrows and takes you for who you are. He will never despise you and never leave you. What is your definition of friends then? Do you think like the two groups of people or do you think otherwise? What should a person do so that you would consider him as your friend?

The Lord Jesus Christ is an example of a genuine friend. He protrayed His love for His friends in a painful way. The Scripture tells us that "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friend." The Lord died for our sins to show His great and sacrificial love for us. Love, is not only the substance between a couple. Love, is actually the magic word among friends. How many on this earth can fully comprehend the meaning of brotherly love, sisterly love? Or perhaps how many can fully understand the meaning of LOVE?

Love is actually a Holy and Sacred word. However, due to the sinful nature of mankind, we tend to transform and distort it into what we called the earthly love. We use "I Love You" to express our likings for another person. We misuse the word. However, it is still commonly used among us as we are often pleased with the earthly love.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Do our definition of love consist of all the above? If it is not so, then how can we still conclude that what we possess is Love?

Do your friends fail you? Have you ever been despise by them? You need not give your answers to me but I urge you to ask and listen to what your heart says. I am sure that you will be able to recall the many incidents that have taken place when you are disappointed with yout friends. As for those who are heart-broken due to disappointment by friends and loss of love, I have a Good News for you.

Jesus is currently here waiting for you. He is a friend whom you can put all your trust on. He is a friend who will accompany you through all the moments of your life. He is a friend who protects you all the time. He is a friend who will walk with you eternally. And guess what? He does not find faults in you before being your friend. He does not care about your past and whatever evil that you have done.

He is ready for you. But are you ready for Him?

If you wish to know more about Him, I will be glad to share with you. Meanwhile, here's a song for you.

The Illusive Dream

Where might you be going this fine day, my friend?
Off a long and aimless road that soon must end,
Chasing an illusive dream that shines so fair,
But when found, isn't there.

I can understand your weary sigh, my friend;
There, but for the grace of God go I, my friend.
Come and let Him lead you to your jouney's end,
Oh, come along and walk with Him

If without the grace of God your life should end
And before the face of God you'd stand, my friend.
What would your illusive dream avail you then,
So, come along and walk with Him.

My fellow brethrens and sisters in the Lord

Someone quoted that there are only two reasons why there are non-christians around. 1) They do not know any Christians. 2) They do.

1) They do not know any Christians.
Perhaps we really should start asking ourselves. Do we really know the Great Commission well? The Lord commanded us to go around preaching the Good News of the Gospel. However, how many of us have actually done it, and done it with passion and desire for Christ? They do not know Christians because we, as Christians, did not approach them. We did nothing for their salvation. Thus, the Gospels did not reach them and they are left unsaved.

2) They do.
Should we feel ashamed of ourselves for this reason? I have mentioned in some earlier post, that many Christians out there do not really behave like one. They appear as negative influences to the non-believers out there. They got upset but the Christians they know and thus, this hinders them from accepting Christ.

What should our response be for them? No, no more thinking and considering because we cannot afford to waste more time. Time is running out and His coming is nearer each day.

Let us live like Christians and walk like Christians.

Let us strive to achieve Christ-likeness.

Let us obey and carry out the Great Commission by really reaching out to the Lost and bringing them back to the Shepherd.
By doing this, Christ's death will not be in vain.

LET US LIFT THE NAME OF JESUS UP HIGH!!!

I Hail Him As My Joy In Life

I do bid that all will come
And drink with me the waters from
The Fountain of delights whom we
Call Christ, and that we taste and see
The fullness of His Father's joy
Which none can make and none destroy
And that we take from His right hand
Eternal pleasures He has planned

My Quest, my dream
Is I may be satisfied in Him
that
He is glorified the Most
That in Him I will forever boast
I hail Him as my joy in life

For those who love Him more than all
His gifts and gladly leave the small
And fleeting pleasures of this earth
To savour God and all He's worth
And show by our Pursuit that from
His holy Fountain flows far more
Than earth could ever hold in store
with great and lasting joy and all

My Quest, my dream
Is I may be satisfied in Him
that He is glorified the Most
That in Him I will forever boast
I hail Him as my joy in life

His goodness shines with brightest rays
When we delight in all His ways
His glory overflows its rim
When we are satisfied in Him
His radiance will fill the earth
When people revel in His worth
The beauty of God's holy fire
Burns brightest in the heart's desire

My Quest, my dream
Is I may be satisfied in Him
that He is glorified the Most
That in Him I will forever boast
I hail Him as my joy in life

Our love for Thee is far too small
Who love another thing at all
So may the Spirit's holy flame
Ignite in us for God's great name
A holy passion, zeal and fire
That magnify Him with desire
I hail Him as my joy in life
And take from His hand my entire

My Quest, my dream
Is I may be satisfied in Him
that He is glorified the Most
That in Him I will forever boast
I hail Him as my joy in life
