CCC #34 Flies with I Brake For Stamps!

When Linda from Studio L3 mentioned that Della from I Brake For Stamps was this week's generous sponsor, to me it was the best of both worlds.  I knew I had to play with Della's stamps using a Tim Holtz Technique.  You can't get better than that!  So you know, if you don't have Tim's book, "Compendium of Curiosities," IBFS has a wonderful price on this book in their clearance section and this would also make a wonderful gift for a crafting friend. While you are there, take a look at some wonderful stamps!

Where to start!  I used a designer paper with very subtle print, I then used IBFS large crackle stamp over the print and a few feathers.  You hardly see those images!  The egg and feather collage elements are 7 Gypsies paper and were cut out and I used the crackle stamp on the egg.  The sentiment (I love that one), was stamped on mulberry paper and inked.  I torn around the edges.  The tab background uses the Antique Glimmers from the Technique Junkies and I stamped more feathers.  All stamps are from IBFS.  This was way more fun than it should have been.  I just wish I could keep glue off my stuff!!!

I can't believe we are at CCC#34 and next week we have finished the book!  I have done every challenge from week #1 and have learned to enjoy Monday's!!!  Linda you rock in so many ways!

I am A Featured Artist, with a Fabby Win, Playing Cards!

It is always such an honor when someone asks you to be a featured artist or guest designer.  The sweet and wonderful Cindy featured my first collage piece that I did for the Smitten class in her online weekly magazine, Whimsical Musings Magazine.  There are other featured artists with incredible and beautiful creations, so stop by for a visit and say hello to Cindy!  This is my featured piece from a prior post and the little school girl is my MaMa!

Speaking of featured artist over at Cindy's magazine, Petra was a featured artist for the "Romance" article.  Petra had a special drawing and guess who won that???  Yes, it was I!  Remember the piece she created for Gingersnap Creations, "coffee filters."  Well it is mine, along with some lovely twine and the sweetest little tag.  Love it so much, Petra and a big thank you!  If you have not visited Petra, treat yourself to some fabulous talent at her Kunterbunt Cottage.
And what a better way to use the twine, then to be the "Queen" of the last minute club and enter my challenge piece for "Kings and Queens" at Gingersnap Creations!

I used my new, hot off the press, Tim Holtz ATC embossing folders! I did also buy the ATC steel rule die, but am a little disappointed that the finished cut piece is slightly smaller than the EF!  No big deal, but I thought for sure they would be a perfect fit.  So, I decided to just emboss the actual tag and do the Cuttlebug Highlights technique from the Technique Junkies.  I used Distress Inks for the background and have a punch with all the card shapes! I used the colors that would be found on a deck of cards and keep this purposely with little embellishments.  It is going to be a bookmark for a card player!  I went on a little shopping spree yesterday at Scrapbooking Made Simple.  Stacey knows that when anything new comes in concerning "The main man Tim," that I want it.  She always holds on to items she knows I will be needing!  Thanks to Stacey and the SMS girls!

Thank you for visiting!  I truly do love your comments!

February Bella Muse Challenge

This is my challenge entry for February's Bella Muse at Bella Creations.  If you have not visited Bella Creations, you really should.  This is a fun group with fun challenges and very supportive.  Now about my little Bella!  The oval and scalloped frames use the Whisped Frames technique from the Technique Junkies, another wonderful group with a ton of useful creativity and techniques.  The magazine is the most worthwhile investment I have ever made, next to the Compendium of Curiosities!!!  I printed the image from Bella Creations.  The scalloped die is cut from SU copper paper.  The background paper and cut butterfly is from K&Company.  I added some Spica accents to the butterfly and her hairband.
Enjoy your weekend and thank you so much for taking the time to visit!

CCC#33 and Simon Says Stamp and Show some Stripes!

March 5th is our 28th Anniversary and I made this for my DH.  It is a picture of a party we went to MANY moons ago!   Hard to believe how time flies!  Speaking of anniversaries, you might want to stop by on March 5th and that is all I will say.  The background for this tag was covered with some tissue wrap my DH used on a gift for me last year.  I then inked over it in a striped fashion with the three Distress Inks.  The interesting thing with the tissue paper is that the silver print comes through once inked.  I wiped off any excess ink and edged it all in black.  Not sure if I will use some decorated threads or chain for this.  Is that not way cool??  The frame was cut with black chipboard, highlighted with Opalite Nordic Ice ink and then clear embossed.  A bit of the blue comes through and give the frame a metal/lacquer look.  The winged heart and word sticks used the Altered Metal Alcohol Inks from this weeks CCC#33 over at Linda's. Not sure if this is quite the stripes that Simon Says Stamp and Show some Stripes had in mind, but I will let them decide.

Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Just Wanting Spring!

Believe it or not, this card is not for a challenge!  We will go visit Bella Creations a new and fun group and Gingersnap Creations with this card.  Not sure how I feel about it, but it is prettier in the person.  Just don't like it when the colors are off.  This is much more green and blue compared to the picture.  The technique is from the Technique Junkies called Spritz and Flick (02/07) and when I saw my GF Gerrie recently using this, I wanted to give it a try. The stamps used are from Heartfelt Creations and there is also a die cut set that goes along the stamps.  Now is that a great idea!  I made two backgrounds, because I knew I want to stamp extra tulips for dimension.  I also stamped some extras and cut additional petals, which you can't really see and I did not think to take an angle picture.  The tulip parts were sprayed with Glimmer Mist.
I hope you all are having a great week.  We are suppose to get considerably colder this week and I can say that Florida is looking very nice to me these days!  Your comments are always appreciated.

CCC#32, Simon Says Stamp and Show a Tag, GC#88

Wow, it is hard to believe that we are at week 32 of Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenges.  I am already feeling the withdrawal symptoms.  Thank you again Linda for taking us on this amazing journey.  We have almost reached our destination. OK, so I am being just a little silly!  Linda has us inking and stamping masks, Simon Says Stamp and Show a Tag, which sure made this easy.  Gingersnap Creations is looking for "coffee and cream" and although there are a couple of other subtle colors, I think this will work.    This was truly a fun tag to create!  I did masking on the "Umbrella" guy, soon to be a Tim Holtz Sizzix die cut and the rustic old truck.  The cobble/brick background is a stamp from I Brake For Stamps, which I thought made a pretty cool old time road.  All other stamps are from Tim Holtz.  I also made a little baby tag using two more stamps from Mr. Holtz.
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and have plans for a delightful weekend!  Sounds like many places are being blessed with some warmer weather, so enjoy it!  As always thank you for taking the time to visit and comment!

Gingersnap Creations GC87

This challenge at Gingersnap Creations is creating a tea bag and a really handy template is provided.  All stamps are Scrolls Work Stamps, Dragon Feathers were used for the embossed Batik background.  Then I used Dried Marigold Distress Ink over the embossed image.  Paper used was Stampin Up Apricot Appeal.  Next I stamped the front with The Bird's Nest, the back is stamped with Watch Face and the letters are from the Type Print stamped and then punched. Everything was shaded to give it a more vintage look.

And to make this a happy day, I just found out that I am a winner twice!!!  As luck would once again find me, Not A Moment To Spare had a lovely blogaversary giveaway and you really need to check this fabby artist out.  I always get a great chuckle visiting CB and I am happy to call her a good friend.  And then, my friend Cindy has started an online magazine, which you have to go check out and I stopped by for a good read and I won something from the most talented Petra.  Well I am beginning to believe the rumors about myself being the luckiest blog winner!  I have struck gold!  Please stop by and say hello to all of these wonderful bloggers.  You never know when you might win!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow.

Bella Creations, Linda's CCC#31 and Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Embossing

A new online group formed, BELLA CREATIONS and if you have not stopped by there, really you should!  It is a very friendly and encouraging group with wonderful challenges!  The "rabbit" image is to be used for the challenge at the "Oh La La" group and we are making bookmarks! I thought he would fit in so well with the CCC#31, "rusted enamel."  Linda, it really did look more like rusted enamel, until I embossed for the lovely people over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, who want to see some embossing!  I just could not leave it plain, now could I??  We added a little bling to the rabbit's hat and tie.  Since it is Valentine's Day shortly, we added little stickled grunge hearts!

My Sweet Molly Waiting For Me To Make Her Lunch!
Wishing you all a wonderful Valentine's Day, full of love!  Thank you ever so much for taking the time to visit!

Scrap-Mart Guest Designer and Tag Tuesday!

Back in December Scrap-Mart had their first Blog Hop and I was one of the grand prize winners of the Letter Press Combo Kit, which includes the Epic Six die cutting tool! Of course I had to play and love the ease of use!  The larger cutting platforms are a very nice feature!  Next, I have to play with the letter press part of this!!  Thanks again Scrap-Mart for the prize and guest designer spot!

If that was not enough of a surprise, Scrap-Mart asked me to be a Guest Designer!  Talk about a double win!  For more details on how I made this Valentine's Day tag, which is also going over to visit Louise for Tag Tuesday, visit the Scrap-Mart blog and tell them Terry says, "Hi."  There is some great art there!!!

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

Humble Harry Looking For Love!

With "Not A Moment To Spare" as my friend Tracy would say, here is my CCC#30 and Simon Says Stamp and Show "Some Love."  Sorry I have been MIA this last week, but I had some things I really had to take care of.  Linda has brought us to page 48 this week and we are altering metal with paint!  I used copper paint and I did really like this!  Since we are just around the corner of Valentine's Day, I thought Humble Harry from Scrolls Work Stamps, was a perfect choice for "showing some love."  When Scrolls Work Stamps first released this stamp, I knew that Harry would end up here!  How can you not love this guy? And speaking of Scrolls Work Stamps, they are sponsoring Vicki's challenge this week of "Red and White."

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
