i m changing the blogskin cos i m sick of the old one :)
Everyone pls take note, next time when u post plas use the large or extra large font
cos the normal font is a bit small (i have changed only the first few post's font)

although its not a very happy thing that Sir is leaving...

Dona was really touching.. with the alumni and all it felt like one big happy family reunion
thank God our overture sounded ok..but there still a lot to be improved so that means more SECTIONALS..yall love it rmb! tell yall when ST and i have decided..

the story happens like this:

ST was laughing at a girl(shall not say who) who was rubbing her eyes and then next moment the camera zoom to her face and she was rubbing her eye too, rather her specs.. but specs are like eyes, so same thing haha
moral of the story: dont laugh at ppl...only after u find that its safe LOL

hey there!
i promise this post would only be half crap :)
ok today's sectionals was fun
but section lunch ended up with 3 ppl..(we still enjoyed lunch right?)
Miss Cheryl Lim didnt come cos she had sth on, rachew had to go home for lunch, and amanda yip, dunno what happen to her change also take so long...haha

anw there was breathing exercises conducted by Mel and everyone was laughing instead of breathing. in a way laughing was helping us with our diaphragm..lol
and as i m typing now i have hicupps and its helping me with my lungs? haha
but i think it did help us! :) thanks Mel

ok then we were doing our favourite song overture no. 1
heehee our section can play although not perfect cos some of yall still not doing the accent at certain bars properly..

then there came die fledermaus
the stupid off beat is enough to fustrate me man
We got it correct in the end at the correct tempo but we still need to work on it...

o ST is banned from the Comp..muahaha
so i shall help her post what she wants to say
she wants to say that she loves Phoebe and the Cornet section (although she may love Phoebe more)

just came back from JC band fest..hahas(St's way of laughing)
damn funny night
ok nevermind nth to do with the topic i abt to say
i totally agree with ST
yall should seriously stop having this carefree attitude
i mean SYF is coming and yall have to work harder
seriously speaking i dont think our section is up to standard
i don't mean to target anyone personally but i m talking abt a team as a whole..

what's the use of ST and i planning the sectionals when yall don't come?
and i dont see everyone or at least half of the section bringing home their instrument even during the long break..
i mean at least tell us when you will be free.. speak at the right time..
this is not he first time i have less than half the section turning up for sectionals ok.

and i dont wish to hear people say "oh i cannot"
yall have to belive yall can
saying you cannot is the first step to failure..
because you already have a preconceive idea that you cannot therefore you dont try

but if you say you can AND PUT IN THE EFFORT you can do it

phoebe is having sectionals tomorrow from 10am to 12nn, right?
and i heard that less than half the section is gonna turn up.
i know some of you are really busy, and blah
but we're really hoping MORE people can turn up for sectionals when we arrange one
it's not that we do not trust you all to self practise at home or blah
but it is important for us to have sectionals
so that we can work on problematic areas in our section and make sure you all articulate, come in and end together

so.. what's the point of sounding well INDIVIDUALLY but screwing up [not coming in on time/having same articulations etc.] as a section/band?
band is all about team work, we need full attendance to make each practise a productive one
but if we can't play as a section, how do we play as a band?
so right.. we hope that for the next sectionals we're arranging,
MORE people will turn up, and have your notes/rhythm sorted out in advance too
[i don't mind teaching you all rhythm that you don't know individually, but during sectionals, it's not too good cause it'll waste other people's time, right? agree?(: ]

okay good! i'm done with my post.
no offence to anyone out there..
i was just shocked to hear so little people turning up for tmr's sectionals
SECTIONALS IS IMPORTANT!

YOPES cornets!(: how was monday's band rehearsal? heh i heard you all could do the note grouping at letter I of overtureONE. that's veryvery GOOD! ;D keep it up!

don't forget. overtureONE is all about ARTICULATIONS. you know M.A.S.T.? M for marcato, A for accent, S for staccatto, and T for tenuto. i'll tell you the articulation for these 4 one day during sectionals. HAHAHAHHAS don't say here..

besides articulations, DYNAMICS is also important! all the SFZs.. MUST DO HOR! [unless you don't know what it is.. *coughcough* TSK ah! if don't know better come ask fast(: ]

only when you've mastered your notes and rhythm, have the perfect articulations/dynamics, will you then be able to MOVE TO THE MUSIC! hahahahs.. MUSICALITY! ;D ahhh you know what i mean for this.. no need elaboration right? [if don't know then go punch yourself. hehehe..]

alrighties. seeyouu all on sat! eh.. even though it's an UNOFFICIAL band practise, all of you must come down hor! good time to sort out your notes/rhythm for overtureONE. anything don't know FEEL FREE to ask us(:
but. if you DON'T KNOW and you DON'T ASK.. then.. screw you! HAHAHAHS!
