Sean and Tracy

We had the privledge of attending the beautiful wedding of Sean and Tracy last weekend. I've known Sean since I was a little girl, back in the days living in Gilroy. They had a beautiful wedding at a golf club in the foothills outside of Gilroy.

Emeline had fun wandering the grounds...The ceremony was beautiful...
And more fun to be had at the reception, meeting other little girls...
And having her first taste of cider! It was a hit!

Tables and Tunnles

Jack has been coming over from time to time so that his mommy can run some errands. Emeline loves having friends over, and at his latest visit, Emeline and Jack got to play with some new toys, a water table and a tunnel!

Jack seemed to enjoy splashing...
...while Emeline did her usual drink from a cup, like she does any chance she gets....especially in the bath.
And tunnels...tunnels are a toddler's pure joy!

Happy Hollow

Last week Emeline got to experience Happy Hollow for the first time. I hadn't been there since I was a kid, but I've heard it is a great place for little ones. Noah loves it there, so he and Michelle joined us for a fun Friday afternoon out.

First we went to the zoo portion. Emeline is usually afraid of animals. She is either disinterested, or she sees them and waves bye-bye to them. Happy Hollow has an area where kids can pet and feed goats. She was much more interested in playing with their water than the animals themselves.
Other than the water, she spent most of her time with the goats running around head down, occasionally barreling into one, then falling down and getting back up. Out of nowhere, she decide to pat this one, then quickly get away from it.
And here she is clearly making her "bwoooo" sound, which she makes for both cows and sheep, and now apparently goats.
After a quick snack, we moved on to the rides. I was shocked that there were rides that kids under 2 could go on by themselves. I didn't know what Emeline would think of rides, but I should have known, as a thrill seeker, she would love them! I bet she will love roller coasters some day.

Here they are on the cars. Emeline thought it was fun to turn the wheel or relax with her arms out.
The other ride they went on were the lady bugs! Even more awesome cause they go up and down!
Here's a video. It's so cool to watch your kids experience something for the first time.

The rides were great, but ended in tantrums for Emeline...who did not want to get off. Then we went over to the park area to let her blow off some steam.

Taking stairs two at a time...
She's such a climber now. Here she is on top, all by herself!
And up and down the slides, so many times. We can see Michelle and Noah before going down!

Beach Birthday

You all may get bored of my beach day posts, but I never do. Every time I go to the beach, I ask myself, "Why don't I live here?" I still don't have the answer to this question, so for now, I'll just have to keep going to the beach for my birthday and other special days. I'm glad we live so close.

Emeline spent the day with Aunt Diane, whom she LOVES, and who LOVES her. They had a great time including shopping at the outlets and dinner at IHOP, and lots of playing at home.

Meanwhile, Wes and I headed over the hill to Santa Cruz. We stopped at Emily's Bakery to get some picnic items, where the very appropriate motto is...

Then after an out of business bike shop, we ended up here to rent some beach cruisers.

After a parking extravaganza and a broken pedal, we were finally off cruising on these babies!

Enjoyed our picnic and a mini birthday cake from Emily's.
Then we toodled around the coast, enjoying the cloudy day. Had some good conversations and relaxing at Natural Bridges, more biking, then drove ourselves down to Pacific Grove to go to the never disappointing Passionfish for dinner.

Mmmm!

Popsicle in the backyard

Emeline had her first popsicle! I gave her a lime one because it was green and I thought it would make for pretty pictures while running around in the backyard. Unfortunately, Emeline didn't really like lime, so she didn't want much to do with it. She preferred to hold it upside down and chew on the stick. Her next popsicle, cherry, was a much better experience. But I got some good pictures anyway.

Emeline has also turned into quite the climber, now able to get up on kitchen chairs and then to the the table. I'm worried for when she learns how to push the chairs over to the kitchen counters...Anyway, I took this photo series of her climbing on a chair outside. All these pics were taken in 24 seconds, literally! She's fast!
And last but not least, some running around pictures. These show her snapshots of her in constant motion, and especially her head-down running around style. Enjoy!

Playmates

Wes is on a short trip for work, so Noah's parents graciously invited Emeline and I over for dinner so we could have some company while Wes was away. Noah and Emeline always get excited to play with each other, which makes for a good opportunity for adult conversation. These two are always surprising us with their shenanigans.

During this play date, we had lots of sharing. They both were interested in a bag of snacks with a clip, and would pass it back and forth so each could get a turn biting the clip. Then Noah moved on to sharing his water with Emeline, and he thought that was just hilarious.

As I was preparing to post this video, I was reminded of a couple other videos I took of Noah and Emeline, so I decided to add those as well.

This one is a snippet of a park play date. Noah brought his ride-on/push truck, but all the kids wanted to either ride on it or push it alone. We couldn't find a pair where one would ride and the other would push....until these two! Noah was happy to sit on it while Emeline pushed. I only got the last bit on video, but it was a fun memory nonetheless.

And last, but not least, here is a video of the first time Noah and Emeline actually "played" together (4/8/11). Noah loved to chase, and Emeline loved to be chased (still does!).

Breakfast jiber jaber

This morning, during her "second breakfast" Emeline was babbling up a storm with her latest. Enjoy!
