In terms of packing and finally completing our paperwork
(It is doable, it’s just a massive task. Exactly as my adoptive mama friends
told me.) and hopping on a plane...YES! God provided and we are scheduled to
arrive in her city in one hour. 🎉
Scott and I both feel about as ready as we felt about
having our first biological child. You can never anticipate or fully prepare
for all the unknowns when adding any new child to your family, so we are
expecting a huge adjustment and transition period. Can we believe it’s happening?
Absolutely not! It’s been an idea, prayer and paperwork project for SO long.
Therefore, neither of us can fully process what is about to happen. But, we
trust God has gone before us, loves us and Yi Han and will show up each step of
the way. I am clinging to the following verses.
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you;
he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be
discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
“Give your burdens to the Lord and He will take care of
you.” - Psalm 55:22
Prayers for our trip:
*Carson ... please pray for God to give him peace and joy
as he is staying while we go to China. He will have the best time with friends
and grandparents and we are thankful!
*Prayers for Yi Han/Addie to have peace as she adjusts to
new people, environments and schedule. We want to love her well!
*Last but not least, please pray for no one to get sick!
Thank you😘
We know prayers to our great, big God make all the
difference. Thank you for joining us in this most important line of
defense...PRAYER!
PRAISES for Day 1-2:
*Our flight was only about half full, so we had extra
seats to spread out.
*We all slept some on the plane!! I can’t even believe
it. God cares about the details. (William wins the sleeping prize.) *Carson had
a great day and fell asleep within 5 minutes of lying down. My mama heart was
full when I got that text at 38,000 feet in the air.
PRAISES for Day 3:
*We have been able to connect with some other wonderful families in our adoption group and we are very thankful for the CCAI staff and their care for us.
*God protected us in our tour of Beijing (despite crazy crowds and crazy drivers -you can't imagine), and we were able to get our boys well fed with some pizza.
*We climbed on the Great Wall of China and it was amazing!
*We got to know a little of the culture of Yi Han's homeland and our heart continues to grow for the people of China.
PRAISES for Day 4:
*We made it through the crowded train station
*We all got a little sleep last night...please pray for more!
