Boys, Boys

You hear every mom say this, Where has the time gone!?! It is so true though, on May 27th my baby miracle turned 9 months old!! He has so much personality I don't even know where to begin. At his check up he is weighing 17 lbs (he lost a few pounds from being so sick) and is 29 inches long. He is my little string bean. He may not have his baby chunk anymore but has good muscles! He still is a good little eater that eats whatever we eat, he hates baby food and dislikes me feeding him, he will take it out of my hand and put it in his mouth if I even try, silly boy. His favorite thing is mandarin oranges, he can not get enough of those. He has four teeth on top now and I love his little cheesy grin that he squints so hard when he smiles it hides his eyes, love it!! He FINALLY sleeps through the night now (unless he is sick or teething) goes to bed around 10 and wakes up at 7 or 8. I can't complain. He waves Hi and likes to show us whatever he is playing with or eating. His favorite thing right now is to push ALL of our kitchen chairs around the tile floor like 30 times a day. He is all about climbing.. on brother, the stairs, the wall, his toys, he is a huge climber which keeps mommy even more on her toes! He shakes his head "no" side to side when he doesn't want something or just being silly. He LOVES water just like his big brother, my boys would live outside if I would let them. Playing in the pool or sprinklers is a daily thing and the Morton House. All the neighbor hood kids always flock to our house cause we always have our water toys out. He has to walker pusher toy things that he will push and run not walk around the house with, as of May 6, 2013 he took his first steps alone today, 4 tiny baby steps and then resorted back to crawling. He has been ready to walk for about a month now so I am just waiting :) I am so not ready for another toddler to chase around...lol. He says ma, ma and da da and has starting say ba ba ba whenever we start the bath water. I love his little jibber jabber. He is just a busy busy boy, who pulls so many faces and just has a sweet fun personality, and yes he is still shy to everyone but me and Josh .He is very very good about standing up on his own with no help at all, he has mastered it! His 9 month pics I took of him he was super sick so you can tell he just wasn't himself. He went from teething to an eye infection to a ear infection and horrible horrible cough that he is finally getting over thank goodness for his breathing treatments and antibiotics. Since he got RSV and pneumonia so little at 5 months old that whenever he gets a cold it is going to go straight to his chest and puts him at a high risk for pneumonia again till he is about 2. So we have to be extra careful which is hard when you have an older sibling. He still was a super happy boy while being so sick and such a trooper. I love my little miracle more and more everyday! We call him our little surfer boy cause his cute blond hair is getting long(mommy doesn't have the heart to cut it yet) and incredible balance and blue blue eyes. My Cali Cutie!!

Brayden has been doing actually pretty well lately. It seems like he is finally starting to understand things more now. Like we say Nigh- Night time and he goes straight to the bathroom to brush is teeth and then crawls into bed and waits for us to read him a bed time story. This is my favorite time is when I can spend some one on one with my little man and he Loves Dr. Suess he loves anything to do with rhyming like the Mother Goose stories too. I think he understands them more than I will ever know. He is playing with his brother which is a huge huge step! They wrestle and Brayden actually will tickle him now and play peek a boo which they both LOVE. His tantrum episodes have been better and I think it is because we have been able to go outside everyday where he can get some of his energy out and get those sensory seekers he has been looking for. Yes we still have them(tantrums) but for now they are a little bit better. I know that his progression is super slow but I take whatever I can get! He is due for his assessment this month so we will see how much he has actually progressed from the last 6 months. He is still not saying any words but I know when it clicks he will just take off. Yes I have my days when I wonder if I can handle this and him and have melt downs because I don't know what he wants and he can't tell me so he cries and gets mad then that makes me mad and frustrated because I can only guess for so long. But I take it a day at a time and try to prepare myself for the next day. He is a amazing little man that just has a smile that can change the world. His new thing is the movie CARS he loves loves that movie and Wreck it Ralph, he can always find one of those two movies everyday no matter where I put it and gives it to me with a huge smile on his face and then grabs his blanket and sits in his spot on the couch and waits for me to start it. Of course he loves to be outside. A lady bug landed on him today and it was so cute as he watched it crawl on his hand then carefully handed it me. I totally thought he was going to freak out or squish like most boys would do. It was so neat to see that sweet side of my precious baby boy. He likes to pick dandelions and shove it pretty much up my nose for me to smell it. Its the little things that he does that just melts my heart. This last week he got a really bad cough and fever that just wouldn't go away so I took both boys in to get them checked out. I totally thought that Jordan had pneumonia again but no crackling in the lungs and doc said he was on the mends. He was the main reason I went to the doctors that day and decided why not get Brayden checked out too. Long Story short found out BRAYDEN had pneumonia in both lungs and his blood work came back with some high levels. So if the fever wasn't gone in 24 hours after he started the antibiotic then we would have to run more tests because he was at a high risk of having a heart disease. I broke down. I was so worried and crying and praying and crying some more. So the next day he broke his fever!! A few hours after that he broke out in horrible huge hives all over his back. Josh stayed home with Joey while I rushed Brayden to Urgent Care. Found out he was allergic to the antibiotic and had to put him on steroids to stop the hives before going to his throat so he could breath and was put on new meds. So far he is doing better so hopefully we can have a better weekend. I swear when my kids get sick...they get sick!! Also Josh had to stay home from work because I got a horrible head cold and sore throat and was up all night between the two sick boys. Josh was sick too with a sore throat and bad cough. It was a weekend from hell!! But we are finally all recovering and things are looking better for this weekend!!

Team Morton has a busy summer coming up! We have 7 peak passes that we will be using a lot!! I am running the Color Me Rad 5k on June 22 with some of my friends. Josh is Grandma from Laughlin is coming to visit that same weekend. The next weekend, if funds allow, we will head down to St. George and go to the lake with my family for the weekend. I am going to a Bacholrette Party in Vegas July 12 then we are loading up the boys at the end of July and hitting 2 weddings at home sweet home in California and visit friends, take the boys to the beach and visit the In-laws.
