AM I READY TO BE AN ADULT
This weekend I'm headed to SoCal with my High School for Cheerleading NATIONALS and I'm running the show!!! RUNNING THE SHOW! OK I don't know if you really know what this means. 65 high school kids, 5 coaches and 15 parents. I've been doing thing for 15 years but I've always had a safety net, and her name is WEASTER. She is the same coach I had in high school and we have become GREAT friends, but she's unable to go this time and my heart breaks. So she has turned it over to me. Every time I go down there I have to remind myself that I'm not one of the kids, I'm one of the adults that is in charge of those kids. When did that happen? When did I grow up? So I have to get them all on a plane, check them all into the hotel, make sure no one get into trouble (remember, they are in high school and most of them DO NOT have their parents there), get them ready to compete, oh theres this really BIG distraction called DISNEYLAND that I have to keep them from, make them sleep- yea right, then get them all home at the end of the weekend hopefully with a few NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!! Wish me luck, I'm the adult this weekend.

SNOW DAY!!!

The girls and left the house today for the teenagers first behind the wheel training not knowing that we would come home to a BLIZZARD!!! (ok maybe not a real blizzard, but it was to me) We were totally caught off guard. My mom had called as we were headed home with a weather update and let us know we needed to get home ASAP!! It was getting bad. No problem right? I have ALL WHEEL DRIVE, I can do it, (even though I have never driven in the snow, the hubby always drives). So off we go up our crazy mountain road (12 miles to be exact) and no problem, I am really doing this. We get to the top of our street to go home and I'm now watching cars slide all over the place but the car in front of me just went down our hill with ease. So I go for it and then we begin to SLIDE and then WHAM!!!!!!! We are in a DITCH!! I drive my car into a DITCH!!!!! Holy Crap. REALLY. Then what do you do? Make sure the girls are ok (they are, no one was hurt in the making of this crazy story). Call someone, if I had cell service. Wait for some stranger to come a bail out the stupid woman driver that drove into a ditch? No my WONDERWOMAN of a daughter decides she needs to walk the 1 mile home uphill in the snow to call my dad. She saved the day... Daddy came to pull me out and make sure I got home safe. Thank you daddy (and mom too, she came for moral support). I dont know what I would have done if my parents didnt live a few min. away (you know with the hubby out of town this week.) So here we are all warm at home with our hot chocolate and a chick flick. I think we are taking the day off tomorrow, no work, no school. We deserve it right. (that's not really my car but it's close)

After several attempt (3 to be exact) and failing two of those three times, i finally managed to pass it with flying colors! i only missed one!!! Now all i have to do is take one 'behind the wheel' lesson and it's the driver seat for me!!!
on an equally exciting note... THE STEELERS WON THE SUPER BOWL!!! That's right...everyone doubted me at school but, no...once again the rightful team won and the Cardinals remain known as the team who has never won a Super Bowl : - ) lol

LETS GO STEELERS!!!!

We are HUGE Steeler fans here at the Edwards home, and are looking forward to the game today. We have invited a few people over to BBQ and watch the game. I think my favorite part of the game has to be the commercials. But lately I have been a little disappointed in them. If you are going to pay that much $$$$$ to air your product on the Superbowl it better be Emmy worthy, don't you think? And whats up with this 3D thing at the end of the 2nd quarter? My 6 year old is super excited for that!! My crazy hubby didn't think they would even get this far this year and is pleasantly surprised that they did. Lets just hope really hard that they WIN today so the rest of our day isn't grumpy. The last time the Steelers were in the Superbowl they won and it was on my birthday so that was fun, I guess. Hope your Superbowl day is fun! Eat lots of good food and enjoy the company around you. Wish us luck!! LETS GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will she ever get to drive?????
I know, still no pictures. (it's coming soon, really)
On to the reason for the blog... My crazy teenager will be 16 in May, and so means a DRIVERS LICENSE!!! I think most parents get a little nervous about their children behind the wheel of a moving death trap, but me and her dad can't get the darn thing fast enough. Well i guess not fast enough because she could have had the permit in Nov. but with the holidays we just put it off. So we get the drivers ed done (online, don't you just love that) and enroll her in drivers training, and off to the DMV we go!! she studies kinda, and misses 13 on her first time through. What, who misses 13!! (you can only miss 8 and pass). Now we have to wait 1 week to go back and retest. Back to the DMV for the 2nd time, more studying, slow down, take your time, dont rush through it, it's not timed or anything, read each ? carefully, double check your answers. She did better, this time she only missed 10!!!! Are you serious? We now get to go back to the DMV again, I think they will know us by name before this is over. Her theory is if she misses 3 less each time we go in she will pass this week!! Wish us luck, lucky #3 on Friday. (should we as parents now be less eager to get her out on the road?)
What do you think?
How many times did it take you to pass your test to get your learner permit?
I'm dieing to know if my daughter is the only one who can't seem to get this darn thing.
Drive happy!! And look out for my crazy teenager!!
