First day of kindergarten.
His favorite color is orange. (Used to be green, but he has just changed it to orange.)
He still wants to be a Paleontologist when he grows up. (Or a Scientist of some kind.)
He is most excited about lunch and snack time at school today.
He expects to make a lot of girl friends because he did not see many other boys at Meet The Teacher the other day.
And just like that, my first baby turned into a big boy.
Steven and I took Max to school first, and then dropped Leo off together. We walked him to the gym to wait with another little girl that is also in his class. Another mom saw my camera in my hand and offered to take a picture of us. I said no, because I'd lose it. And then, I lost it.
I hugged Leo goodbye in the gym, and could not hold back tears. Steven had tissues in his pocket ready for me (my hero!), and I cried all the way down the long, long hall and back to the car. Some passing teachers smiled, and reminded me that he was in good hands. And then I was OK. But then I wasn't. And then I was. And now I'm not.
I need a time travel machine. But my camera is the next best thing.
