23...

My hubby is now 23 - crazy. We went to Thai food with some friends and then mini-golfing. It was really fun! We've been hanging out with friends, having fun, and wishing for summer weather. In spite of the 50+ degree temperatures, if it's sunny we ride the scooters. Our friend Ben bought one and it's really fun to have a "scooter gang" now. We even have matching helmets.

The tree pollen is in full force up in the Pacific Northwest (PNW). I can't wait for all the other pollens to come out and play too and really put my allergy medicine to the test. So far, so good. :)

In honor of spring, I'm reading The Secret Garden, yet again. I think I've read it almost every spring since high school. It's so fun to have a good book to look forward to at the end of every winter.

January

Well, it's January 2010. We don't have too much going on right now: work, work, watch movies, hang out with friends...
Last weekend I went on a retreat with my Bible study group. This is us having some fun jumping off a log...

While I was at the retreat, Gabe went camping and hiking with his friend Ben. It was pouring down rain the night they left to go camping. Not my idea of a good time, but they had fun.

Remember Pearl Harbor!

Gabe's hand is healing, but slowly. They took the metal pin out of his finger last week and he was able to shower without a plastic bag over his hand for the first time in weeks.

Other than that, not a whole lot going on.

October Updates

Currently, I am traveling for work - it's a very busy time of year. Gabe found a parttime job and he's enjoying it. He also hurt his hand recently, so he is recovering from that.

Gabe injured his hand which means he's off the laptop and I can upload some new pictures!

These are from our camping trip this summer. Gabe got really into fishing this year.

September Sunshine...

Gabe and I spent the most amazing first weekend of fall embracing the beauty of the Northwest. Friday night we had a softball game and it was wonderful to be outside on a crisp autumn evening. I brought Gabe home twice (I was up to bat after him) and even though they threw me out, I still got the RBIs. Saturday we drove down to a friend's cabin on the lake and almost melted in the heat of the fall sun (it was only 90, but we thought it would be cold). Sunday we thought about hiking, but spent the gas money on golf instead. It is so wonderful to golf when it seems like you are alone on the course... I could hit all the bad shots I wanted, take my time enjoying the scenery (including my man), and breathe in the smell of leaves. Later that day, we watched the Seahawks lose to the Bears :( and then that night laughed about how happy we are together. What a great weekend!
P.S. - Hannah is married. Oh happily married. She's having some fun on her honeymoon. She's gone, in the Mayan Riveria. She's gone, only halfway done on her honeymoon. Oh Married. Married. She's married. (A song by Gabriel Beahler)

Two years and counting...

Gabe and I just celebrated our 2-year anniversary last week. I can't believe how fast time goes by! Over the weekend, we stayed a night in Seattle and that was a lot of fun. We've only ever done day trips to the city, so this was our first overnight up there.

Gabe has discovered the joys of fishing this summer. The Puyallup river is full of pink salmon right now and Gabe is committed to going and catching his limit every day that he can. My dad will head down to the river with Gabe today after several unsuccessful attempts to fish on the sound.

Gabe and I joined a co-ed softball team an our first game is this Friday! I'm pretty pumped.

We haven't had much time to scooter this summer :( The weather has been great, but with all of the home projects and the mountain of stuff in front of them, we just haven't been hitting the road like we did last year.

Hannah gets married in two weeks, the Beth Moore Esther study starts in three, and benefit fair season (which means I'm traveling all over the state for work) starts in one month!

Mid-August Madness

It's been a crazy summer. Gabe is still looking for a new job (he was laid off in June). We've been spending time working on our yard and doing repairs to our house which has left everything in the kitchen covered in a layer of dirt. Hannah is getting married in about a month too. All that to say it's been a long/short summer and I'm looking forward to riding out to the end of it in style.
P.S. For more updated pictures of our adventures, you can become friends with Gabe on Facebook. He's good about getting things up there - I am not.
