Siblings...

I know that most of you that are involved with Chinese adoption realize that the possiblity of siblings that are known are almost none. I know that when referrals come out, I look for referrals from Ryleigh's orphanage. I always think "that could be Ryleigh's little sister"......

Well what would you do, if when you were in China you found out that your new daughter had not one, but two siblings? You would want to adopt them as well, right?

Well this family had just that happen to them and they need your help.

If you are a reader of my blog, I encourage you to give what you can. Even if it is just ONE DOLLAR to help this little girl get her brothers back home.

Everyone knows that adoption is not cheap, well imagine if you just completed one adoption and were compelled by fate to adopt again very soon.

Please, I beg you, give....

Love Without Boundaries

Yesterday started the LWB Art Auction. Love Without Boundaries is a great organization that helps fund surgeries and other medical needs to children in China. Although Ryleigh didn't benefit from Love Without Boundaries presense in China, my family has followed a lot of blogs of children that did. This charitie is dear to our hearts.

Every year they have an art auction, and this year I donated an Asian quilt that I made. Please, if you are reading this, go over to Ebay and check out all of the beautiful things that have been donated for this wonderful cause!!!

Ryleigh Gets Earrings!

This is a super controversial subject. When to let your little girl (or boy, I guess) get earrings? I posted a small note on my Facebook page and just asked "What do you think about a 4 year old getting earrings?" and people went CRAZY with their answers (I had 33 responses). The "NO" people are SUPER opinionated on the fact that letting your daughter get them to early could lead to tattoos and teen pregnancy. The "yes" people were more "Do what you want, they are cute, my daughter has them".

Ryleigh has been talking for a couple months about wanting earrings. I'm NOT a earrings look cute on tiny girls type of person, but the more I thought about it, the more I was leaning towards getting them. We noticed little girls all over the place that has earrings. The only thing really holding Ryleigh back was the thought of the pain involved.

One of the reasons that made the most sense to me was the fact that she is old enough to "know" that it's going to hurt and make a decision, and she is also young enough that she isn't in organized sports yet. Most of the "injuries" I heard about with earrings had to do with sports.

I would ask "You want to go get your ears pierced?" and she'd say "Yes, but it will hurt". So, we watched a couple of youtube video's of little girls getting theirs done and she decided she wanted to.

Today was the big day. She was so funny and brave. She never cried until she was all the way done and I said "You look worried, you can cry if you want to"...and she let go with the sobs for a couple of minutes.

She is very proud of herself for going through with it and they are really cute tiny little pinkish diamonds.
