November

Can you believe that tomorrow is December 1! Wow where did November go? Well there were some highlights, and low-lights to this Nov of 09:) Some high points! My sister Tara calls me and says, "hey linds do you want to go on disney on ice?" i kind of hesitate but secretly i totally wanted to go:) haha Really it was way fun, totally something I enjoyed being with my niece Cala at. Not so much for the adults:) haha but I still had a great time! Thanks Tara

Another highlight Tara again calls me and says, "linds we have an extra ticket to Twilight New Moon want to come?" Of course I said yes but I didn't know what kind of deal Tara had! We went on opening night, except being there for the midnight showing we got into a special showing at 9:30! I had a blast and am sure glad Tara is down here to hook me up:) haha

Cha came down for a mens volleyball game and well how could you pass that up! haha no really it was so cool to watch and we snapped a picture of a cute player... mmm

I got my school pictures this month as well, and I must say that these have to be my favorite school pictures ever!

We got over 200 pictures from kyle in Paraguay! he is so awesome and he was upset because they don't celebrate Halloween there, so Kyle and his companion carved and gutted a watermelon, what a halloween!

I went home for thanksgiving and it was well needed! I love my brothers and sisters, aunts uncles, cousins and friends! It is such a blast. Thanks Kate for driving down and back with me to Idaho, it was so much fun!
We went early morning shopping, starting at 10pm Thanksgiving night, yes ToysRUs was open at midnight, I guess I payed Tara back for my tickets by going early morning shopping for her:) I was so glad that my sister courtney was around to play with me! she is the best and so is sara our cousin who was a total trooper for thanksgiving shopping! haha
I was able to meet my new little niece Raigen, she is so beautiful, I love my nieces and nephews so so much!!

I also was able to cut down my own Christmas tree! ya that's right I am totally a mountain woman haha!

So now some of the low-lights. My roommate chels was heading to Logan when she spun out and totaled her car... lame right don't worry she is just fine. So I take her out to ice cream a couple days later and we laugh because when I was in high school chels was with me when I got into my wreck and we happened to be eating ice cream from arctic circle, so we have vowed not to eat ice cream from there:) well i guess we can't eat any ice cream ever because the next day a lady lane changed into the side of my car! So lame, I am good and the car is just a little banged up but all is well. Until on Tuesday i get a call from my brother Eric saying that my mom and dad were in a wreck! a kid ran into the back of them and lucky they came out OK, dad has a carpet burn on his forehead and mom has bad whiplash but other than that they are doing well.

well that is November in a nut shell, can't wait to find out what is in store for December! Bring it:) haha

It is Time for an Update:)

Changes, changes, changes! I have moved! So crazy, I have moved from Murray to... Holladay, which is about two miles North of where I was living:)I moved in with two fine ladies, Chelsea and Sydney aka Sydnew:) I love our apartment with all of its space and cable.. yes cable I have lived a year without it, I am so happy!

I am sad to not live with Steph and Shellie anymore, they were great roommates, but like I said before, Change, change, change:)

School has been going really great, Halloween was a blast! That week was also Red Ribbon Week and we got to dress up everyday! I think I enjoyed it more than the students... Monday was crazy hat/sock day ( I wore my white ski hat and slippers:)) Tuesday was backwards day, and usually I hate this one, what can you really do backwards! This all until I discovered how to french braid!!!! I totally wore my hair in upside down french braided pig tails! I looked awesome, complete with my backwards dress and earrings. Don't you all wish you taught third grade! That is until a cute guy comes in your room to check the sound system and looks at you and then around to see if the "teacher" is in the room... oh well:)
Wednesday was red day and Thursday was costume day. I love dress up week, I always have! Those who went to high school with me know this! I seriously was the only teacher to dress up all week!

Aside from moving and school live is pretty normal! I do enjoy being in utah and going to Cammon and Creyton's football games. Also I get to go to my favorite restaurant Texas Roadhouse on their birthdays! Whoop Whoop!

FAIR!

September is one of my favorite months, a big reason is because it is time for the Idaho State Fair! I wanted to hit up some of my favorite spots, The Bread Barn, Funnel Cakes, Foot long corn dog, do I need to go on, I love the food! Plus it brings backs lots of memories when my grandpa would show his Clydesdales! I love it!! My roommates and good friend Nancey came down to scope it out, we had a blast, and ate lots of food:)

When I was driving home from Idaho I noticed a sign in Utah saying that there was a Utah Fair. Well of course I had to hit that one up as well! It was great, but doesn't compare to my good ol Idaho Fair. We did get to go to the rodeo and well, that was a blast!

White Water Rafting!

I was able to go on an extreme white water trip down the cataract canyon this summer! it was such a blast! the other kindergarten teacher Vicki's brother owns tag-a-long expeditions and she invited me to join her and her family:) I was so excited, but at first it was only going to be me going, then someone dropped out and my dad decided to come with me:) I am so glad I have a dad who will do random and weird things with me! I love him so much and am grateful for the standards and lifestyles that we live!
We were on the Colorado River for 4 days and went over 29 rapids! I almost fell off, the very first rapid and well was a bit nervous for the 30 foot drop:) No worries we are all still alive and happy!
It was the most beautiful trip ever, I was in awe the entire time, we were able to stop at Indian ruins and take a hike up "Mt. We Did It" which well we named:) Dad was such a trooper and came up the mountain with me! I had such a great time and I would do it again in a heart beat! here are some of the pictures:) good times Vicki was so wonderful to let me and my dad join her family on their adventure!

Miscellaneous Summer 09

I spent a lot of time in Idaho this summer, and these are some of the events I haven't posted yet:)

JUNE:
Nicole Baxter's Farwell, sad day, I shouldn't say that but I miss her like crazy! I can't believe she's been out since JUNE!

JULY:
Operation, MTC raid! Haha, funny but slightly true, we were in Provo for the 4th of July and did a drive by the MTC. Well as we were driving by we see a pack of missionaries walking to the MTC, and all of a sudden my sister Tara says, "Oh my heck, that's KYLE!!" We all were flipping out! Tara is laying on the horn, missionaries are looking at us like we are crazy, and Kyle is waving! Here is the drive by picture! See if you can spot him!

Every summer the grandkids all spend a week at grandma's, so I got to hang out with all 7 of my nieces and nephews, I sure love them! We hit up the zoo, went to a Chuckars baseball game, and made our annual hike up R mountain!

August:
Coming Soon, I went to Cataract Canyon in Moab, I am just waiting for the rest of the pictures:)

The Nield Reunion

I love my family, in fact I love them so much that when my mom told me we'd be riding to the Nield family reunion in Clayton, Idaho, in an RV I was willing to go, until of course I saw the thing, then I asked if I could ride up with Eric and Kacey:)
No it was the funniest thing ever when we went to pick up our borrowed RV... it belonged to a little old lady and her and her dog traveled around the country in this "thing" We decided to name this family vacation, The Nield (Griswold) Family Reunion. if you don't know who the Griswold's are then, well this isn't very funny... here are some sweet pictures of the RV:) haha good times

Court and I didn't think that mom and dad could fit on the itty bed in the back so we brought a tent. We set it up next to the RV and our neighbors (Hunter and Ridge) came over to check the place out. It was fun, but cold, really cold, so the next night Courtney and I slept in the camper, much warmer:)

This is a picture of my grandma and grandpa Nield! I sure love them! They are two extraordinary people, who have been married 60 years!!! Also my Grandpa Nield is turning 80 this year~ how time flies. I have always thought my dad and kyle were twins, well my grandpa is their triplet:)

Saturday was full of fun things for us to do, thanks to Eric and Kacey. We went fishing in the morning, Court caught her first fish, then we went up to the Salmon Hatchery.. It was so cool! There were millions of fish, all raised there! And they come back to the same place, incredible. We also discovered a cool place in Stanley Idaho, Redfish Lake! It was beautiful! Oh and the last thing we did was become rich... yes we went to an old mining town and panned for gold! I found a speck.. I am in the money now! haha Thanks to Eric and Kacey for letting me and Court tag along!

Nicole and Jeremy made it up on Saturday afternoon and when we got back from panning gold the kids went up and down and up and down the water slide, it was hilarious! We missed Tara and her family, and the missionary Kyle, they just didn't want to be seen in the Motor home:)

French Braid

Yes after a long 23 years without knowing how to do my hair, I have now discovered how to french braid. People have tried to teach me, but I just didn't get it. I really couldn't put my head around using 4 pieces of hair... So I just sat back and saw the amazing wonders of french braids, wishing one day I would know how! We'll that day is today! haha or I guess the other day:)
We were sitting at the house, my sister in law and I and I say, "Man one day I want to learn how to french braid," and she says "I know how, I will teach you, it's easy, all you do is start braiding your hair and just add hair to the piece you are going to cross over." This may make no sense to anyone, but to me it was like thepuzzle piece finally fit, I got it and was able to french braid my own hair!
Well if you know me, I can't just stop their, thanks to some guinea pigs, my sister court, my mom, my nieces taylor and cala, and of course myself, I am a french braiding queen. I wish i had a picture of my mom's french braid, ya i did pig tails, it was so cute... she tells everyone to run or i will french braid their hair, man or woman... which is true sad day:)
Here are some pictures of the success... I only had one of tayor's braid, but I got some of cala, so I guess you get the idea:) I also did a itty bitty one on my little niece sadie, she wasn't impressed...

Jonas July (Part 2)

Back in March I bought some tickets for the Stadium of Fire, featuring the JONAS BROTHERS! That was 5 months ago and I am happy to report that Court and I went to the JONAS BROTHER CONCERT! It was so awesome! We were seated on the field right next to the stage! There were thousands of people surrounding us, and I am happy to report I was not the oldest person there:)
Court and I started off our week by coming down to Utah on July 1. We vowed that the only music we'd listen was the Jonas Brothers, so we knew all the words to the songs:)
We found supper cute outfits and even got some neon hair extensions for the show! We looked good! We of course bought some Jonas Brother t-shirts and wear them proudly!

Our seats for Stadium of Fire were right on the field so we were super close to the stage! Glenn Beck started us off with some jokes and the national anthem. SheDaisy then came out and sang 4 songs. People were just sitting in there seats not really singing during their performance so Court and I sat as well..
After they were done the Jonas Brothers came out! A bunch of girls were running to the stage, so Court and I followed suit and got so close we almost touched the brothers! Court is taking picture after picture and I am pushing our way to the front:)

Here are some sweet pictures of Joe Jonas, ya he was right up by us! I had to hold back my urge to grab him! haha No it was really cool he came right up to our side of the stage and we totally made eye contact like 5 times! haha he probably was thinking "what in the world is that girl doing?" haha oh well but you can see in the pictures a couple were he is looking right at me!

The other Jonas brother that Court couldn't stop taking pictures of was Nick, he is the youngest brother and 16 just like little one:) He didn't come up as often as Joe but she still got some pretty good shots. Pretty sure I had to restrain her from grabbing him!

The three brother Kevin, Nick and Joe all came right up to the tip of the stage and sang a song from "Camp Rock" it was really cool! Court and I were screaming but I am pretty sure they couldn't hear us over the other thousand screaming girls! haha

We had so much fun and I would so it all over again in a heart beat!! JONAS JULY!!!

I almost forgot... so kyle was super bumbed that he had to miss our Jonas concert, k he wasn't really and he gave court and I so much crap! anyways he said that he needed more PDay shirts and we said we'd get him a jonas tshirt. Well we weren't really going to get him a shirt, for one he'd never wear it, and second i don't think they make XLT Jonas T's. haha So as a joke Court and I made Kyle his very own personal tshirt... I used my sweet photoshop skills (thank you BYU-Idaho) and created a awesome shirt. here is the pic that we put on it, and it said "Nick, Kevin, Joe, and Kyle JONAS haha

Playmill 09

It was the summer between my junior and senior year of high school when my good friend nicole said, hey lets go boating in island park! I had never been before so we, Nicole's family, and 5 hott young girls, Me, Ash, Chels, Sarah, and Nicole set off for Island Park. Boating was so much fun and we had such a great time! Nicole's fam had gotten tickets to the playmill in west yellowstone, and they graciously took the five of us! It was such a fun trip and we loved it, little did we know that 6 years later we'd still be keeping up with tradition! Every year the five of us have made it up to the Playmill for some great laughs!

We had to hit up the Playmill early this year, Nicole is leaving for her mission on the 17 of June. It was awesome, they really do a good job! The show we went to is a personal favorite, Guys and Dolls!
Highlights
1. Being with 4 of the coolest girls alive! Even though we are living different lives we all can hang out and still laugh and have fun
2. Taking scandalous old time photos! good times
3. Going to my personal favorite shows "Guys and Dolls"
4. Nicole filling her canteen before the mission! Ok so it was her birthday and she had two of the Playmill guys kissing her hand and cheek, ya she is full for 18 months hahaha
5. Ashley getting to dance with a random stranger!
6. Eating at our favorite dinner
7. meeting at broulims:)
8. Rain, all the way up and all the way back!
9. little boy who was scared of chelsea, he covered his eyes just at the sight of her
10. Sarah getting really excited for the sing along, she is totally not lame:)

Birthday # 23

Wow I am 23! I am still kind of in shock! This was a weird birthday because as lame as it sounds it was my first without my mom and dad! Not going to lie parents do alot to make you feel special on your birthday, so not having them here was kind of a bummer but I still had a great day despite that:)
Well it all started the day before, May 11 when I went to Lehi for Creytons baseball game, Cala's dance performance, and Cammons basketball game. It was a night of events, but I am so grateful that I am close enough to go and watch them play! I enjoyed myself:) Creyton had a great hit, Cala was the best performer and Cammon scored some major points:) Also Cala thought it was just swell to put on some of "aunt lindsey's" lipstick... what good times!
After all the events were over we went back to Tara's where she had angle food cake waiting for me! I was really excited, I have been craving this since Tara's birthday in February. The boys made me some gifts and Cala gave me some big kisses! Creyton made himself, with tape arms and legs, and Cammon made me a pocket that I am putting earrings in haha! After cake I had to have the spanking machine.... this is most defiantly a cooper thing:) Cole took me down and both cammon and creyton gave me 23 spanks each... so technically I am 46 years old! haha I love them all and am glad I could spend time with them
When I got home I had a card in the mail from Kacey, Eric, Hunter, and Ridge. I told Hunter I wanted him to make me a picture, so he did with my name on it! WOW it looked awesome! When I called to thank him he said "Ya, Ridge didn't want to send his picture." hahaha so funny I love them!
The next day I woke up defiantly feeling older:) haha No I walked out to get some breakfast and my roommates had put balloons on my door! they rock, one of the balloons said "Yes! I am a Girl!" haha
I went to school and the other kindergarten teacher got me a cute bag and a ITunes card, she rocks! My kids were funny trying to guess my age! They would say 32 or higher, and when I said no its lower they'd get higher... what have I been teaching them:)
After school I went home and my roommates had made me, what Shellie calls "better than being 23 cake" and dinner! I do love my roommates. Afterwards I went to Ross and bought me a cute new dress that is such a Lindsey dress:)
Nicole called and Taylor said happy birthday, and Sadie breathed in the phone.... i love it! Also I am pretty sure Nicole is giving me a new (niece or nephew) for my birthday:) she defiantly got pregnant for my birthday, thanks Nicole haha
I also got a cute saying in the mail from my mom and dad, it says "It will all work out" from Pres Hinckley. I love it!
So being 23 is no different than being 22, so far at least! haha Kyle asked me if I felt old, and I said ya, then he asked if i am still planning on going to the Jonas Brother Concert and of course I am... I told him I am going through my mid life crisis early:) hahaha
PS Court I am excited for my big surprise when I get home:)

Misson Calls.....

So pretty much everyone is leaving me for a mission (except me, and I am good with that:))! First it was my little bro going to Paraguay... then Chelz is being sent to Tennessee, and now my best friend in all the world, Nicole, is leaving me for 18 months! Nicole Baxter I better get one freaken great present! hahah just kidding! No I am really excited for her to serve the Lord in the Washington DC South Mission! She is going to make an excellent missionary I am so proud of her and her desicion!

She is one freaken great friend because the day she got her call she waited to open it till she drove from Idaho to Murray Utah, so that I could be a part of it! Isn't she the best. K so she recreated the opening of the call because she couldn't wait and well I would have done the same thing. She came down to see me and my classroom and give me the great news!

Viva Las Vegas

So Spring break was a couple of weeks ago and me and my familia went to see my family in VEGAS! oh ya! It was so much fun!
Wednesday night the fam came up to stay at Taras and we left early the next day for some time in the sun. Of course Courtney took this time to take photos in the car:) Lucky lucky if you look close enough you'll see that dad didn't get out of getting a photo taken:)

When we got there it was just nice to relax, of course we put on our swim suits and laid out, they only problem was that it was kind of colder than we expected... and well I was pushed into the pool, which didn't help. But we did get some sun and Kyle and Eric were the only ones who were brave enough to face the cold water:)
Kyle, dad, Eric and I went to the Luxor and were able to see the Bodies Exhibition, it was so cool! It shows the whole body, which is neat, but 2nd grade Eric wasn't sure of a part on the body, and well asked Kyle what it was, he of course said ask Lindsey. Good times:) I did learn a lot about our body! It was so cool, it is so remarkable!
My aunt Mary is such a sport taking us around to the mall and shopping with us! It is so much fun, even more fun when you have money to spend at the mall:) We went to a new mall and it was so cool, it even had H&M! Hahaha tara
Me and family hit up the Strip while we were there, it was fun to walk around and just watch all the crazy people. Kyle even started pointing out the girls who were gold diggers, it wasn't hard. You look for a young girl and an old man... haha Also we saw a crazy drunk woman grinding on a car stopped in the road, it was slightly disturbing.
I don 't have the strip pictures because they are on my moms camera, so they will be added soon

Korver

Chelsey Furniss called me the other night and asked if me and my roommates wanted to go to the Jazz game with her! I was like "UH YEAH!"

Not going to lie we had NO idea who the Jazz were playing but we thought what the heck, this will be fun! at the door we got free JAZZ wallets, hum don't know what I will use it for but it was FREE!!!

Of course we took a bunch of pictures and had a good time, surrounded by a bunch of drunk men... pretty sure we totally looked out of place but that is ok!
The game started at 8:30 and we didn't get home until midnight! one long game.... but there were a few things that made it most interesting!

My top 10

1. Kyle Korver! Oh wow he is one freaken good looking man! Since chels is going on a mission I totally call him!

2. Once we got there we found out that the Jazz were playing Houston. That meant that the BIG man Yoi Meng....? would be playing at 7'6" he is no small player. he was fun to watch because you could see that he loved it!
3. Chelsey's boyfriend on the floor side seats. He has curly hair and wore a Jazz Malone jersey. He would dance around the whole night, I wish I would have taken a picture because wow he was interesting! Don't worry chels I am pretty sure he will still be single when you get back! haha

4. We sat on the 18 row! How great is that! They were the greatest seats!

5.Halftime.... wow they had a man who was super flexible! He came out in a clear box and unfolded out for all to see! He wore a spandex suit and I would post the pictures if it wasn't for the fact that they are pretty much X rated... he was wearing spandex and bent over ALOT.... I won't go into any more details but I know you understand.

6.Parking... I wanted to take the trax but my roommates said it would be cheaper to just drive. We parked at the Gateway mall for 5 bucks which was great! But when it was time to leave we waited in the underground parking for 30 min before the line started to move!!!! It was nice spending quality time together.....

7.The crazy looks everyone gave us when we would take pictures. But I must say that there were three guys who were taking pictures of themselves and it was pretty hilarious

8. Chels spending the night in MURRAY and eating at Cafe Rio!

9. Did I mention Kyle Korver? Oh ya he is one good looking kid!
10. Just being able to go the Jazz game, they play games during time outs, they play music the whole time and the fans are out of control! It is one good time!!!!

JONAS JULY!

"I'm Hott, you're Cold" Yes this is the beginning line of "Burning Up" by the Jonas Brothers. Last summer Courtney and I were sitting in the basement trying to find something to watch. Well the premier of "Camp Rock" was on so we sat and watched it. From then on we were hooked, we both LOVE the JONAS BROTHERS. I know, I know my brothers say I am robbing the cradle, but I would like to clarify that two of the brother are over 18 so they are fair game:) haha

Also in the summer Court and I took a road trip to Utah and all we did was listen to the Jonas Brothers, we became their biggest fans! haha~not going to lie we even bought a magazine all about them.....

Well it was a big joke and a lot of fun chilling with Court, but I was moving to Utah to teach and she said she had a going away present. I wish I had the video of my reaction to Courtney's gift! She gave me a pillowcase of the Jonas Brothers, with my face on it on one side, and on the other side she had the girls face replaced with mine. So it looks like I am in the band! Probably one of the coolest gifts I have ever received!

We vowed that we would see them in concert since then. Well for Courtney's 16 birthday I gave her a card that promised a Jonas Brother ticket, problem was they weren't coming to Idaho or Utah.

Then on Monday I got this e-mail saying that the Jonas Brothers were going to be playing the 4th of July Stadium of Fire in Provo! Seriously I about flipped out! The tickets went on sale at 5:00 March 6 and I made sure that my roommates, me, and sisters were trying to get me tickets!

I totally scored 2 tickets to the concert! I am so freaking excited! Thanks to all my family and friends who have helped out, you rock! I know you are all jealous and seriously secretly Jonas Brothers fans! haha

Girls State

My little sister Courtney's basketball team made it to state this year! Rigby hasn't been to girls state since 2002 so this is a big deal. I decided to go, that would mean I had to have a sub for two days! This would be my very first sub for my kindergarten class so I was a bit nervous!
My sister Tara was worried about me going alone....haha so she said lets make it a trip! So on Thursday Tara and I left for a 5 hour drive to Boise:) But before we could go we had to hit up some yummy bajio!

Before I can get any farther I have to say that before we left my little brother Kyle got his mission call! We were all on 3 way speaker phones as he opened the call. He will be leaving June 10 to Paraguay! I am so excited for him!

That is what started our day, so of course you know it would be great! Tara brought her portable dvd players so that if we got bored we could watch a movie:) We didn't turn that on for a while, we just enjoyed driving and talking. Tara thought she was going to die from my sweet driving skills, ya I might have taken a turn a little to fast.... But we had a good time.
On the way to Boise Tara and I decided to check out the Twin Falls Temple. It had taken me 8 years to go to Boise, so who knows when I'd be in Twin again. We stopped and took some model shots:) I tried to get a good angle so I am laying on the ground while tara is standing in front of the door, a man comes out is like "oh i didn't see her." AWKWARD oh well

After our adventure at the temple we said that on the way back we'd come and take pictures of the canyon. If you have ever driven to Boise there isn't much and it is LONG. Good thing for dvd players:) We popped in High School Musical 3 with each of us having one ear phone in, yes we were connected by ear and we rocked out! It definitely made the trip faster.
We get to Boise and head straight to the basketball game! Game 1 wasn't Rigby's best. We lost but Courtney played great and worked really hard. After the game we went to eat with mom and dad they took us to Sharis. At the hotel Tara and I shared a bed and she kept saying, "there is a line don't cross it," giving me like a sliver of the bed!

You can't be in my family and not shop... so while we waited for Game 2 mom and I went shopping! I love it and I got some great deals and cute clothes! Also dad informed us of what he wants for his birthday... hahah
Game 2 proved to be a better game and Rigby won! I think it was because of my sweet hat! Again it is so much fun to watch and I am so proud of Court! This meant one last stay in Boise. We have family up there so we stayed with them. They were so great to let us come and crash at their house.

Game 3 we lost.....but we weren't to sad, I felt bad for the seniors but Court is a sophomore so she still has 2 more years to go. Of course after the game we went shopping, and then Tara and I went to the Boise temple. Good times.

On our long journey home we stopped in Twin Falls to take some pictures of the canyon. We also picked out a new movie "House Bunny" and rode home.

I had so much fun and Tara was such a sport for coming with me on the long journey!
