Sugar Cookies

My husband LOVES cookies! When we were dating and I would scratch his back he would say "I would do anything for some cookies and a back scratch!" I never picked up on the hint. I thought, "Wow, I am such a good girlfriend!" Well, finally his roommate handed me a bag of chocolate chips and said, "Here, would you make the guy some cookies!! All he does is complain that you never make cookies." He still says I don't make cookies enough but when I do, he can eat the whole batch by himself (4 or 5 dozen)! Here were some especially delicious sugar cookies. I got the recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. You know, the red and white plaid one. They were seriously amazing. They were so good by themselves they didn't need frosting, which is good because he doesn't like frosting. Anyway, not only were they delicious, they were beautiful too. Enjoy the pictures!

Baby Boy Card

My good friend Rachel is having a boy this month. I went to her shower the other day. This is the card I made for her. I love the paper and the colors. I just got a heat gun and embossing powder and I just had to try it out. I think I still have some learning to do, but I thought it turned out ok.

No Sentiment Card

I realize I make a lot of things without ever getting around to posting it. I guess I feel like nobody is looking anyway! Oh well. Here is a card I made because I loved the paper and the stamps and wanted to make them coordinate. You can' t see it in the picture too well but the background paper has some green flowers too so that is where I got the idea for the flowers I colored. Again, I don't have copic's so I used colored pencils. I think they turned out ok.

Thanks for stopping by!

Let's Party

This is a birthday invitation for my niece who is turning one. After having two boys, her mom (my sister-in-law) loves pink. So, it is a very pink, sparkly, girly card. I worry it is too adult for a one year old party. But, this is what I came up with.

Card Recipe:
Cupcake: Doodlecharms
Let's Party: Cuttin Up
Flowers: Home Decor
Paper: The Paper Studio
Stickles and Popdots, of course!

This was a quick thank you card I needed. I loved this paper and wanted to show case it. So I didn't add too much to it. Pink ribbon and "thanks" from Opposites Attract.

Lemonade Award

I've never gotten any awards before and Nanne, my favorite scrapbooker gave me this one. I was so touched! The award was designed to award bloggers for showing great attitude and gratitude. How sweet of her to give it to me! I suppose I am supposed to pass it along, but she would be the #1 person I would pass it to:

  • LinniPink. She leaves sweet comments on my blog when I think noone is looking.
  • Tristan. She is just great and makes me feel like my stuff is really good.
  • Dani. She always checks both my blogs and is sure to leave a sweet comment.
  • Enfys. Her cards are to die for and she leaves sweet comments about my simple ones. Thanks Enfys.

A card without a greeting. For some sweet women in my life. Simple stamp, simple brads, simple colors, simple ribbon. Just my style.

Hello and Happy Mother's Day

These are the same card with different sayings and slightly different paper. So, I thought I could include them on the same post. Nothing exciting. I am a simple card maker. I like square lines, probably because I don't know what else to do.

Happy Birthday

I just love this stamp from SU! It just looks so delicious I could eat it! I am not sure about the colors of paper I chose. I kind of wish I would have done it with red to compliment the cherry on top. Anyway, too late now. I colored with colored pencils again.

A Baby Boy Card

I have a dear friend of mine that is having a baby boy. I am so excited for her, so, I wanted to let her know I was thinking of her. I used this stamp set from SU. The pictures are not great. The textured paper is from DCWV. The ribbon is from Michaels. I colored it with colored pencils. I don't have copic markers, don't know where to get them, but am interested in them. Anyway, enjoy!

Hap-BEE Birthday

I needed a birthday card and I had this sticker of a bee. Then the saying came to me. Just a simple card but fun. The green paper and ribbon are from DCWV. I'm not sure about the brown paper and the brown ribbon is from the sewing section. I double mounted the sticker and then used pop dots, of course!!

N and A

I made some flannel board pieces for my nephews (I'll post that later) and wanted to make them cards to go with it. I wanted it to be a simple card. Not too frilly but cute. This is what I came up with. The plain paper is from DCWV and I don't know where the striped paper is from. I have had it in my stash for years waiting to find a home! all the circles and the letters were from the Plantin Schoolbook cart. The antenna on the caterpillar were slashes from Opposites Attract, I think. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

To You

Just a simple card with paper and ribbon from DCWV. The lettering is from the "Opposites Attract" cart and the flower is from "Home Decor." The flower is attached with pop dots, of course.

Welcome To Disney World

I am still trying to catch up on my scrapbook. I am still doing pictures from 2005, before I even met my husband. Now I have a child. I am WAY behind. But, I am getting there. I am trying to be selective with what I scrapbook so I don't get too overwhelmed and too behind. I need to remind myself that not everything needs to be scrapbooked! Anyway.

These pages are from a trip I took to Disney World in August 2005. I realized I didn't have any pictures with me in them, but I still wanted to document the trip. So, I did anyway. I used the Disney Mickey and Friends cart for this page. And I did something I NEVER do: used white paper as a background. I wanted to focus on the pictures and the cutouts and I couldn't think of a paper to use as a background that did that as well as the white. So, it was done. Also, I LOVE pop-dots to add dimension. On this LO there are pop-dots for mickey, goofy, the sun, the airplane, Disney, the top layer of grass, and I think even the clouds. Like I said, I LOVE pop-dots!! Overall, I really like the way these pages turned out.

I didn't have a lot to document, just the date and the fact that it was ridiculously hot!! So, I just wrote a bit in the corner, so as not to take away from the images.

Close up of goofy.

Close up of Mickey.
I love the stickles on Disney. It really adds a lot and makes it more special!

First Post

I have been so hesitant to create this blog for several reasons: first do I really need to post my creations? Is anybody really going to care? Second, it is going to be more time; I am terrible at updating my family blog, what makes me think I am going to update this one? Third, I have no idea what to call it. My husband and I have been mulling over some names for days and I am still drawing a blank. I wanted it to be something cute and catchy, but also to describe what I like to do: create things. I love to make crafts and things. It gives such a sense of satisfaction to make something that wasn't there before.

So, as you can see, I decided to take the plunge and create the blog. First, Who cares if nobody sees my posts or if they don't care. It is fun for me to do. I create scrapbook pages for people to see, why not show more people this way? Second, it is ok if I don't update all the time. This is something more for me to do that I enjoy, making something that wasn't there before. Third, I can still change the name right? Any ideas?
