Steves Fathers Day Present

Every birthday, christmas and any other occasion, Steve always says he didn't get anything and makes me feel bad, so this year I had to prove him wrong! He had the normal pressies, one each from me, the boys and even the cats, and then he got the 'big present', an hour learning to fly and then flying a helicopter, and that is where we went this afternoon! On the way, we drove through lots of rain and then Lewis asked what would happen if he died - great, thanks Louie!! We were met by a female instructor - yes a female Helicopter Pilot, who talked us all through the controls, the boys of course interrupted a few times and asked questions, one of Lewis's was "how many seats are in the helicopter?" he was desperate to go for a ride too - she explained the 'what to do' and the 'what not to do's', and after checking the helicopter was safe, Steve and Susanne strapped themselves in and off they went! The boys and I found the only one piece of shade, and waited, waited, and waited, then, we saw themselves in and off they flew. What felt like hours later, from a distance, we saw the helicopter coming towards us, Steve was driving this huge noisy thing, actually, it was a R22. I was videoing him coming in to land, and the battery started to go, aghhhhh, typical, I didn't get round to charging it this morning, due to the formula one and football today, thats my excuse anyway! The helicopter landed and Steve had a great smile on his face, and Lewis, well he was very relieved that Daddy survived, and Theo and I, well, we were pleased to be able to get in the office with the air conditioning, well it was 98 degrees...
