The closet yielded:
1 bag of clothes I already determined I don't wear but which was still at the bottom of the closet
3 watch boxes, 2 of which are so old the batteries of said watches need to be replaced
7 empty shoe boxes
1 bag of trash- bigger this time
2 mystery fish fillets (see below)
In addition to the stuff many things were relocated to their rightful areas. That's the hardest part, sorting. Well sorting and then actually putting the sorted stuff in the place it actually belongs. This isn't a project that is going in order, mainly it's going which ever way the STUFF demands. There's lots of walking up and down stairs to get these thing back to their homes.
In keeping with the stuff sorting I made fish for dinner. It came from the back of the freezer in nice little vacuum sealed packages. I cooked it, we ate it, I still don't know what type of fish it was, but it's no longer in my freezer.
your life is an occasion... rise to it!

STUFF #3 dresser
So I thought..... this can't be that hard right? Just get rid of things you don't use. WRONG!!! The real problem is the stuff I use is scattered about the house in all 10 of those places listed. The real struggle is being diligent in finding everything a real home that actually makes sense.
Dresser: 10 t-shits, 4 pairs shorts, grocery bag of trash.
Other areas: 47 Martha Stewart/Budget Travel/Backpacker/Real Simple/GOLF magazines from around the house.

10 weeks:10 areas:10 stuffs gone
Living in one spot for over a year and getting to expand into an entire house means I started to accumulate STUFF again. I was doing pretty well after moving three times in about a year. Each time I purged and repacked. But now.... well it's starting to pile up again and it's time to do something about it.
Ten weeks to eliminate a minimum of ten things from ten different areas.
1. Ikea hanging closet
2. Ikea closet shelves and drawers
3. Dresser
4. Nightstand
5. Closet
6. Basement totes
7. Other half of basement totes (I might be in denial on the number of totes down there!)
8. Bathroom
9. Bookshelf area
10. Other various areas in the house I have stashed CRAP over the past 1.5 yrs
Yeah, I know it's not an ambitious plan, but why should it be. A full week will actually give me the time to sort, analyze, and determine keep/trash/store without having an emotional reaction. I'm going to try and document the process so hopefully I won't let it happen again (or maybe as fast).
ps... yes, I have 2 closets plus a hanging wardrobe in the basement. yes, I know that's a lot. yes, that's part of the reason this is happening!

Good weekend in some actual warm weather!
I was a pattern tester!
A while ago Kristen from Maniacal Material Girls let me be a pattern tester for her new pattern Toss Up. It takes 12 fat quarters and goes together pretty quickly, even for a quilting newbie like me. I finished the top forever ago and then quilted it awhile ago... and then finally added the binding on the drive to and from Mesquite last weekend.
This is going to be a gift for a great little boy named George!

Easter Presents
I could say I was waiting to post pics of my niece's Easter presents until they got them.... but that's just a lie. I didn't take pictures of the pillows I sent each of them before they went in the boxes. As luck would have it I have an awesome brother who takes great pictures of his kids and he sent me this little gem!
