2 down, 10 to go!

Update #1: Two treatments have come and gone and I only have ten treatments to go! Aside from a little nausea and queasiness for a few days after each treatment, I generally just feel tired. However, a week after my first treatment I felt like myself again, so we are hoping that trend sticks! (two thumbs up!!)

Update #2: After my first treatment and a blood test, they found my white blood cell count was REALLY, REALLY low, due to the chemotherapy drugs. So, they took my dose down 25% for 3 out of the 4 drugs for the second treatment, and I have had two out of three consecutive shots to get my white blood cell count back up. I've had to be really careful about not being around sick people and crowds, so that I don't get sick! :( I'll take another blood test the day before my next treatment to see how the shots and lower dose of chemo helped increase my white blood cell count.

Update #3: My hair has started to dwindle...BUT I got a hair cut so that it doesn't drive me crazy!! Special thanks to my wonderful sis-in-law Mary, my hair is now shoulder length and so LIGHT-WEIGHT! (another two thumbs up!!) I absolutely love it. See picture below.

Update #4: Spencer, Bradford and I don't know how to thank all of you for your prayers, thoughts and EVERYTHING you've done for us. We are so grateful for you and we love you!

Love,
Taylor

Dear Friends and Family,

We will finally and officially be starting chemotherapy treatments tomorrow {sigh of relief/anxiety/nervousness/thankfulness}! We have decided to stick with Ironwood Cancer Research Centers, where we really like Dr. Harrison J. Bachrach, M.D. My treatment will consist of 12 treatments: every two weeks for six months. We are very hopeful that it will be a success and thank you for your prayers and love!

Updates

Friends and Family,

First off we want to tell you all that we love you and appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We would love to talk to you all individually about our situation, however, in order to keep it simple and relieve repetition, we are going to use this blog as a source of information for you to obtain updates.

Taylor has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Stage 3. We are currently meeting with an oncologist and preparing to begin chemotherapy this week. She will be treated for a period of 6 months with the possibility of radiation after the chemo is complete. We will continue to update you as the weeks go by.

Thank you again for all your prayers,

The Perks
