Tonight Tavin took his bedtime prayer into his own hands...
He thanked God for his mom and dad and prayed that all the books have children :)
What a little sweetheart.

Potty Trained!

Tavin is now among the potty trained :) To my surprise, it wasn't the candy that worked... it was the sticker chart! He just loved getting those darn stickers! I would have never imagined that would work on Tav, but thanks to a suggestion from a friend, I tried it and Tav was proud to potty.
When Tavin filled a line on his chart he got to pick a prize from the prize box which was filled with a bunch of Bruce's old cars, motorcycles and construction vehicles that he was "saving" all these years. You should have seen the way his eyes lit up when he got to pick a prize!
It's been about a month now with only a few accidents. He gets disappointed and says, "It's gross? Is that gross mom? I made a mess?" Such a sweetheart :)
Happy Easter!

This Easter weekend was really fun! Tavin was just old enough to really enjoy Easter egg coloring and hunts and even told us his remember verse many times, "Jesus died, and rose again!" That lil guy is such a great big blessing to us.
Saturday we spent time with our neighbors at a pancake breakfast and egg hunt then colored eggs. Tavin really got into it and definitely cracked a few in the process of dunking! We were all very colorful by the end of the night :) Sunday we had a big family breakfast on the patio and Tav had a egg hunt afterward. Then we and all went to church at CCV where we had a little lunch afterward and watched Tav play in the big field with the kids where he ending up doing a backward somersault after Papa sent a HUGE bouncie ball his way!
Also, since I've written last we have some big news to share... We are expecting baby #2! This lil one is due November 5th and I'm betting his or her birthday will be very close to Tavin's. When I was pregnant with Tavin we had decided not to find out if he was a boy or girl until birth and we're going to do it the same way this go 'round. Tavin keeps telling me he's going to have a baby sister... we'll see! He IS excited to be a big brother, although I'm not sure he REALLY knows what's going on. When I tell him I have a baby in my tummy he tells me to take it out haha!

Busy Bee and Birthday Boy
Chasing around that little guy has kept Bruce and I quite busy these days! Tavin is a full fledged talker/repeater... you better not slip up or his new favorite word will be a naughty one! Speaking of favorite words, his current is marionette. Cute :)
He has just started to peek out of his super shy phase and play more with other kids, or at least not cry when they come up to him. At church he has just started going to the 2 year old building and I think that helps a lot because they all get to play on the playground together and he loves him some slides and steering wheels!
I like to keep Tavin's hair long... I like to think it looks surfer-ish, but i probably like it that way so much because it reminds me of his baby hair :) We are going to go to see our friend Kyle at Boogie's House of Fades for a haircut today... He's gonna come out of there looking like a little stud :)
This is my absolute favorite age. I just love seeing his innocence and curiosity and genuine love. If I could freeze time right now, I just might!
And now I'll send you off with some videos from his 2nd birthday :)

Words I can say...
Now that Tavin can technically talk, I better stop talking for him! From now on I will do my best to write this blog in my own words :)
When Tavin was 18 months I decided to write down all the things he could say before there were too many to count. I wrote this list over the portion of an entire day we spent together and here's what I came up with:
**Words**
dada
mama
down
up
bite
cookie
grape
please
diaper
Nana
Grandpa
Bruce
Leah
bye bye
Elmo
this
that

**Sounds**

**Animal noises**

**Phrases**

Oh no
Want down

Yo Gaba Gaba
Brown bear, brown bear
night night
where's (name)?
all done!
By the way, now that he's inching up on 22 months, he is like a recorder... everything we say, he mimicks. He picks up at least a few words a day and stores them in the think tank... even the bad ones ;)Perhaps the cutest though is he is learning to pray. He folds his little hands together and when we're done (or sometimes in the middle) he says A-MEN! The other night when I was putting him to bed he just kept saying it even as I closed the door... what a little cutie pants.

The 4th of July!
The 4th of July was SO MUCH FUN! We took a little trip with the Dermers to their house in Prescott. Here's me and Dad in the driveway...

The house was so darn big and we even got to watch The Wonder Pets in a big movie theatre! We also went to Whisky Row where I was very weary of the cotton candy and couldn't understand why everyone was eating fluff so I opted for a granola bar. On our way home, we went to a cool carnival where I ran around with mom and dad while the bigger kids when on rides... it was fun to watch though! Finally, we made it back to Phoenix to see the fireworks at Arrowhead Mall with Nana, Papa and the Warners. Yippie!

PooGrin pics!
Me and mom and her fellow PooGrinners all got together at Tempe Town Lake to take some FUN pics for the website. Oh mom... she just cant get enough pictures of me.

My first swim class
Today was my first swim class ever! My class is called the Little Snappers and it was lots of fun. I had to wear a special diaper under my swimsuit that looked like a cool speedo so that was neat too. I also learned how to go under water, shimmy along the side (all by myself!) and climb out of the pool (also all by myself!)... Anyway, here are some pics dad took:
