Scarily Quiet

I just came downstairs after putting Target Girl down for a nap and it was silent downstairs. Thoughts of marker on the walls, a total mess somewhere, or the boys escaping outside all ran through my head. But instead, I found this:

AMAZING.

Preschool

Today was Target Boy's first day of preschool and he was beyond excited! He had his backpack packed and on two hours before we were supposed to leave. He got to pick out a new soccer pencil from our stash and wanted to take his workbook with him, but I convinced him to take a notebook instead (not that he needed either, but he felt cool).
As soon as he woke up he asked if he was five now, because we told him he could go to school when he was five. He was excited to learn (again) that he could go to preschool at four. As we talked about going to school, he told me that I was just supposed to walk him in and then go back to the house and he could ask his teacher her name, under no circumstance was I supposed to stay with him.
When we got there, he was just a little shy, but answered his teacher's questions and started asking his own, and pretty much shoved Target Baby, Target Girl, and I out of the door. Target Baby of course cried because he wanted to stay too. Class was only an hour long today(and the rest of this week), so when it got out Target Boy cried all the way to the car because he didn't want to go yet.
He had a great day and was so excited to meet his teacher and all of his new friends.

Star Wars: A young Padowan's Birthday Party

Target Boy turned 4 August 15th and so Saturday we had his birthday party. He has been talking about his birthday party for months, and scouring oriental trading company's party supply magazine like it was a toy catalog. He finally settled (or rather we did) on a Star Wars theme. The party was a lot of fun and he had lots of friends come over to play. It was pouring outside throughout the whole thing, so we had to improvise lots of the activities. I know Target Boy had a great time though, and didn't know what else he was missing.

Jam Packed Summer Fun

Yes we really still are alive (some days just barely)! Since May we have had a million things going on, so this will just be an abbreviated run down with a million pictures.

The boys' first father/son camp out

We got to attend the wedding of one of Target Man's coworkers
JUNE:
During a trip to my parents, to visit the temple, I was up all night (for the fourth time) with excruciating gall bladder pain. This time I actually made an appointment with my cruddy doctor and on June 24th, I became gallbladder free! Thanks to my Mom and Mother-in-Law for coming to take care of me and my family. Other things in June included celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary, where we were actually together on our anniversary for the first time since 2005.

Our Second trip to the Monster Truck show
(Target Baby was sick, but still had some fun)

Target Boy's own artistic picture of his favorite truck

Can you see the excitement?

Target Baby thought it was loud, that is still his description 2 weeks later

Okay if you look closely you can see the end of the police smack down that took place in front of us. I totally missed the fire breathing, car eating dinosaur cause I was watching a guy resisting arrest, and the five men it took to get him down. Mace was used and to add to the excitement a lady next to us got up and was screaming, "Get that white trash out of here." Talk about a classy event! (By the way, no I did not take this picture, Target Boy had the camera)

Again, Target Boy documented the classy people that came late, sandwiched themselves next to us, and felt it appropriate to later take over half our blanket without ever speaking to us. We really had so much fun, will be back again next year, and will still feel totally out of place because Target Man chooses to wear a shirt and our boys don't have faux hawks or mullets!

Waiting for the parking lot to clear before we drove home. Seriously, the monster truck show brings out the largest crowd I have seen in our small town.

HOT NOW-oh how I miss you...

Okay, that wraps up our summer so far, minus Target Man's soccer season, but that will never make it up. So, just know, there were soccer games, he didn't do major damage to any body parts this year, which means a successful season. Till next time...
