I know that there are a few of you out there who want to know about the labor and delivery....I hope that you are not disappointed because it is nothing fancy or exciting.
PS I hope you like to read!
On wednesday the 16th my braxton hicks contractions started to come every 15-18 mins..Nothing too abnormal and nothing to worry about but then about 4:30 am on the 17th they started to hurt and were now every 10-12 mins apart. I coudn't go back to sleep so I went out to watch tv and around 6 am I had the feeling to call my mom and let her know what was happening because I had a feeling that she (the baby) was going to come that day or the next, so I called my mom and let her know that I was having contractions and that we weren't going to the hospital because I had a Dr. appt. that morning at 10:10 so we were gonna wait and see what he said, she was on the road an hour later. :) Dave took the day off of work just in case. So at my Dr. appt. I was at a 1-2 and 80 percent, so he said, "Looks like we will see you later tonight...about 8:30 would be perfect, I can finish stuff up here at work, go home eat, do homeowrk with my kid and then come deliver your baby." Dave told him that that would not work for him because he had a softball game at 8:30 that he wanted to go too...but we knew that he would not be going. So the Dr. stripped my membranes...HOLY COW...was not expecting the pain that came with that. I did not have that done with my other 2. So all day I was having contractions and they started to get closer and closer, so about 5:30, they were 3-5 mins apart, we dropped the kids off at the neighbors and went to the hopsital and they checked me and I was now a full 2 and still 80% so there I lay for an hour waiting for them to check me again and when they did I was at a 3 so I was admitted to the hospital at 7 pm. And yet again there I lay waiting, at about 9 ish I finally gave in and got my epidural :) then my Dr. got there at about 9:30 and checked me and I was at a 4 and 100 % now so he broke my water and told me that we will be having this baby tonight...I had doubts because my history with mushing is not great...3 hours with my first and 1 1/2 hours with my second. But my Dr. had no doubts (my Dr. is the best, I have known him since I was about 8 or so, my mom was his nurse for 5 1/2 years when we lived in SF, so he is a close family friend, he even came to our wedding.) So, there I was again waiting , Dave , my mom and my best friend were there with me. At 11 he checked me one last time and I was fully dialilated and ready to have a baby, but he let my contractions work for a few more mins and at 11:15 I started pushing, I had them turn off the epidural so I would feel more to see if that would help with the pushing time. When I stared puching Talya did not like it, her heart beat dropped really low and woudl not come up, the had me lay on my side for a min. and nothing so , he stared to get out the vaccum, because she needed to come out if her heart beat did not go up, I am sitting there with oxygen starting to panic when all of a sudden her heart beat bounced up and stayed up, the Dr. said all he had to do was threaten her with the vaccum and then she promised to be good. So I pushed and pushed for just under 40 mins and she was born! :) Before midnight just like the Dr. predicted...I was really hoping that she would be born that day because now all my kids b-days are on the 7's of the month. Lance is the 7th, Shad is the 27th and now Talya is the 17th. Pretty cool! I really think turning off the epidural helped, I was able to feel the progression, not the contractions. She was perfect and I tore only a little...the same as with Shad.
So far recovery has been great, I had infections after both of the boys, one was a UTI and the other is still a mystery as to what the infection was all I know is that I could not walk and felt like crap till I got the meds.
She is a really great baby she only cries when she wants to eat...which I need after my 2 crazy boys. The adjustment to 3 kids isn't that hard yet...but the real life hasn't stared yet either my mom is still here. But I am loving being a mom of my 3 kiddos and am in-love with the way that my boys are in-love with their sister.

Now I hope to be able to put together something of the summer that has been stuck in my camera...hopefully before the baby comes. Might be short, might be long who knows, there are alot of pictures and stuff that have happened this summer that I need to blog about. Good luck to me!
