Lately I have had little to no time to even sit down with my beloved Mac. I went back to work last Thursday and I did not cry! I cried on Wednesday knowing it was our last morning together for a bit and I carried Jackson around ALL day long. Thursday went by fast and Christy (bless her heart) had all the teachers bring me photos of Jackson every 20 minutes which made me so happy to see his chubby cheeks.
Justin and I have had a few wonderful outings without Jackson as well. We went to Go Fest with Brad Paisley and other country singers and it was almost like, well Justin put it like we were "dogs that had been caged up for a long time." Dave watched Jackson, while Justin and I danced and drank probably a few too many beers. The people watching alone at country concerts makes me happy. I ALMOST got a picture with the man in overalls, one strap down, no shirt underneath, spilling Coors Light down his chest but he looked like he was going to puke on me so I snapped him alone. I'll post pictures eventually--they are on my smaller digital camera I left at school.
We also got to go to the UCLA vs. ORE game last Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Carrie and Randy watched Jackson for a whopping 12 hours. It was an amazing gesture and we are so thankful to have friends that will take on that task. The tailgating is my favorite part of the game. We had the full spread, and Dave cooked breakfast (bacon, eggs, hashbrown, and sausage) while we enjoyed mimosas. Natalie even ran over for a visit while she was at the game for Tim's birthday. The game was a bust (UCLA lost) but it was really nice to get out. I do think of Jackson all the time when I'm away, but honestly it feels nice to do a few things like we used to do before baby.
School is CRAZY. Christy keeps me sane. They (all my 4 almost 5 year olds) are wild...22 boys 7 girls. But, the day goes by very fast and when I get done working I rush home to do my other job...MOM.
Jackson is still super gassy so I took him to the doctor and she suggested Dr. Browns bottles (like them) and Gentle Ease formula (trying it). The best part was she weighed him...so at 6 weeks 5 days he was...drumroll please...14 lbs. 12 oz. We have decided to only have one child now since we will never be able to afford to feed two. Ha ha. Love my big boy, and he smiles for us now sometimes, especially when he sees himself in the mirror. And it does...melt my heart (seems that is what all blogger moms are saying these days). We did get Jackson's costume and it is the cutest dragon costume ever. Carrie and I were dying when we put him in it for the first time. Can't wait to wear it on the 31st! Until next post when ever that may be...xoxo
