Official 1 month of PTP:

Hi guys !

Today marks my one month completion in the PTP phase, which also means that PTP phase is coming to an end in 3-4 weeks time.

Pretty fast eh?

How well am I coping?

I am coping pretty well, i guessed, is all about the mindset n how you handle every circumstances.
Punishments are inevitable, just treat it as if you're doing training and usually people get punished for valid reasons, so yah.

At times it's pretty hard to handle the emotion as we are all human, nobody likes punishment and scoldings. We do rant  a bit here and there, but hey just get over it fast and switch back to normal mode. haha

How do I find my bunk mates?

Honestly speaking, my bunk mates are the best. Like we chat and laughed a lot like crazy everyday.
Games day everyone gets even crazier like high on drugs or something. LOLOL

How is the training?

As I am in the PTP phase, they trained a lot on your physical ability, building your muscles and performances to improve on your IPPT. I do find it tiring at times but just have to cope with it by persevering through the day.

I always tell myself "Yes I am killing and burning all these fats" :B Anyways, my weight dropped from 79.4kg to around 76kg. *WOOHOO* 5kg to lose to my ideal weight!!

Btw, it's PTP is often termed as "slackest" period for most recruits. The truth is right because once BMT starts ... dayumz..... it's gonna be triple than what we're going through in PTP.

#prayforjulyforjoe

PS: Oh ya you wouldn't be surprised to find those super fit and buff ones inside PTP as well. HAHA

Other than physical training what else is interesting?

You will do basic foot and arm drills. Which can be really fun at times. Besides that, you will also involved in road march where you carry all the heavy loads (10KG?? or more) and walk 3KM - 4KM - 6KM - 8KM - then 24KM.

Erm, games day activities like Frisbee or Captain's ball.

The other miscellaneous stuff?

-Food: OKAY NO COMMENTS, I EAT VERY LITTLE THERE #oops

-Standby bed and Standby area etc.

IM SO DONE CIAOZ

TILL MY NEXT BLOG POST :D

PS: im so lazy to check my grammar so suck it up HAHA if there's any.

Week 4: PTP

Hello guys!

Just a random update of my current situation in NS.

Wouldn't say bad but the strenuous physical activities are really crazy.

From when I first enlisted I weight around 79kg now I'm 77kg.

I eat really very little in camp. It's not that I'm on a diet but the food there doesn't suit my taste bud!! haha is just my problem, still loving my mama cookingπŸ˜‚

Running is a major part of all activities.
I liked running a lot haha but still working on improving my 2.4km.

First attempt 2.4km 15 min 57 sec
Second attempt 2.4km 13min 40sec

Second attempt was better because of all sort of crazy training given which includes Caden run / speed training and ability group run.

Out of all 3 IPPT component  Push up is one of my weakest. Still working on it, been trying to do some push up before sleeping but the practise is not consistent . 😰

IPPT 3 this coming Tuesday. I'll be damn.
I'm still recovering from my cough n all hopefully it won't affect my physical performances!

Talking about being sick, it's really suay because my weekends are burnt visiting the doctors and resting at home. Zzz
Supposed to be celebrating Father's Day but ya bedridden me as I was having a fever couldn't go out.

So have to dapao and eat at home with the family πŸ˜‚...

13 more weeks to go!

Preparation for Enlistment

Countdown to PTP: 5 Days

It's exactly 5 more days before enlistment , feeling a little excited and curious like what kind of training I will have to go through etc.

Upgrading my status from Pre-Enlistee to le Recruit Nah.

I think my mom is more kanchiong than me ? Nagging and rushing me to get all the items on the checklist ready. I prolly pack my bag on Sunday or Monday.

Omg how come it feels like I'm going for a vacation @ Tekong - the only thing is that this "vacation" includes meals and accommodation all for free. #justjoking

Everything must be kept in low budget because I don't want to spend too much   on army HAHA .. Well at least that's my logic.

So here are some items that's pretty essential:

1) Army Specs

Okay I spent like $120 on this. Which is like pretty expensive lah my budget is like less than $100, if possible.

Okay I don't know how true is it, but I've read blogs and on forum that u can actually claim the $$ back. So best is to keep your specs receipt.  I threw away my receipt already coz I read the forum after I threw it. #whatever

Get those plastic black frame cum the ear hook support kind.

*flips hair* Erm if you wanna be fashionable inside, I recommend those matte material frame, more in trend.

2) Hangers

My mom bought these hangers actually. She specifically bought those with clippers on it so it's easier for me to hang my own clothes etc.

The checklist stated to bring 6 or more but some of my friends advised to bring on at least 12?? So probably gonna put in another 6 more 😌

Hang your undies hang ur uniform hang ur PT stuff. 😏

3) Inexpensive Watch

Went shopping around Bugis area with my family last Sunday and they bought this for me actually. In fact my mom bgt 3x of these CASIO F-91W watch !! Is like $19 only but the shop I went have discount so is like $11 each?? Plus it's water resistant and all.

Mom was like telling me if spoil can just throw away - LOLed.

4) Detergent

It looked like some drug 白粉. Nahhh just joking HAHA.

Actually stored my detergent powder in a used plastic water bottle, it's easier to like pour and all.

Omg I hope this amount can last throughout my confinement period.

5) Bodywash etc

I'm bringing in like travel size facial foam and body wash to Tekong actually.. ... At least it won't take up space in my bag. So I'll throw them away when used up.

I'm brining in more products in, not only the 2 shown up there ^

Other essentials like shaving cream and disposable shaver. Maybe deodorant I wanna smell like heaven there.

6) Swimming Goggles

Bought this from Mustafa for $15. Really cheap and it comes with a degree.

Anyway I'll end my blogpost here. I didn't  do a full coverage of my preparation list actually but mentioned the essential stuff only.

Rmb to bring sufficient underwear lor.

Maybe I'll  edit my blogpost when I thought of things to add on.
