So, here's the thing. We had a big Easter egg hunt in our apartment complex. With that being said, let me take note of the fact that since it was on campus and there are people of other religions the event was called an "Egg Hunt" (which only happened to fall the day before Easter). Well, the kids got a lot of candy (and I ate it all). That's what it means to be a parent.

Dermatology Here I Come
We just finished with our Dermatology Organ System. Interesting stuff! Here are a couple of photos of my friend Larry Daugherty getting a mole removed during an in class demonstration. Derm is really interesting stuff and although it might take a time or two before you'd feel comfortable punching out a piece of skin, before long it would be old hat.

Southern Utah Trip
We got home last night from a four day trip to Southern Utah. On Wednesday and Thursday, I was presenting to schools in Cedar City. We were with a group called Utah Rural Outreach Program whose mission is to expose kids in Southern Utah schools to medicine in hopes that they will be interested in becoming doctors that could fill the great need for MDs in rural Utah. We did a little biking while down south, including an afternoon on Gooseberry Mesa, one of the best rides I've ever done.
Danielle and I decided to spend another couple days in Zion NP. Compared to the 30s, 40s and 50s here in SLC, it was 80 in Zion. Beautiful day. On seeing the beautiful spires of Zions, Kennedy said, "Big rocks Dad, I'll climb them when I'm big like you. Very high" The kids did a great job traveling and really enjoyed the trip. It was nice to enjoy a nice long trip before my serious board study and third year rotations begin.

Kellogg's Makes a Great Dinner
For dinner (and all of our meals in Springdale/ Zion), the whole fam drove to LaVerkin, Utah's very own "UN Free Zone", and did a little shopping at the local grocery. Because our hotel room didn't have a microwave we figured that cereal was a good bet (besides, what kid doesn't like cereal for dinner).
Lunch at Trail End
We took a short hike (about 1 mile each way) up the trail in Zion NP that leads up to the beginning of the Narrows. Kennedy and Seth enjoyed riding in the stroller and squirrels along the trail.
Weeping Wall, Zion NP
This is the first "semi-strenuous" hike that I have gotten Danielle to take with me since that 20 day 300 mile ordeal that was the Nepali Himalaya four years ago. Although our Nepal trip was enjoyable, Danielle swore to me that it was the end of all hiking. So, here in Zion, I mentioned that we were going to take a couple of "walks", including this one up to this beautiful waterfall. All said, I think that she has been convinced of the occasional hike in the future. The next time we go down to Zion, I would liked to do Angel's Landing, an incredible hike, especially at daybreak.
