On Friday morning my dad and I went to live off the land with my dad's friend Aaron by Roosevelt Lake. We brought my .410 shotgun, two .22s and two fishing rods. When we first got there we set up our tents and went on a 4 mile hike which included wading through streams. At the end of two miles we decided to go swimming. After ten minutes of swimming we decided to head back to camp.
On the way back I saw a red little tweety bird and decided that would be my dinner and blasted it with my .410. After cleaning it up the, meat ended up being the size of half a chicken nugget. After that we went to bed. I was miserable because it got down 30 degrees at night. On Saturday morning I had hot chocolate that my dad brought. ( That was all I had that day until 2:30 pm.)
Then we packed up and went somewhere else to go hiking. On our hike we saw two whitetail deer and signs of active javelina. Then we got to a 30 ft cliff/waterfall so we had to turn around and take the long way. Once we got to the car we found a dead tortoise and tried to see if it would stay on our car through the bumpy roads.
Once we got into Miami we ate at this place once called the "Burger House". They had one of the best burgers I had ever had. Then we got home around 4:00 pm.
