Teaching them Young

While I was at work the other day I gave Ife ONE job to do. It was to keep the house clean since I had spent hours cleaning it the day before. I was surprised when I came home and things were actually still in order because usually...I'll just say...they're NOT. Anyway, when I asked what everyone did all day long Ife told me to check out the camera.

Step 1: Get the scrubber wet.
Step 2: Get the scrubber really wet and swirl it around in the dirty sink. No need for soap.
Step 3: Make sure there are no crusties left on the plate.
Step 4: Put plate in the drainer to dry...No need to rinse when you do such a good job scrubbing.

Now I know why the dishes were done :)

But really, in all honesty, how sweet is that. Now whenever I go to do the dishes, Saki has to pull the bench over and 'help' me wash dishes. Of course I would never say that it is less help than it really is, but my little Saki he sure loves to do dishes...or just play with the water running for hours :)

Oh yeah, you MUST scroll down to see my other posts that I did today. Now nobody can say I don't update my blog enough :)

So BIG!

I wanted to post about Kaveni's two month statistics, but haven't had time. Anyway, you will never believe that he weighs 13 lbs. 4 oz. He is in the 95th percentile. I am so HAPPY. Finally I won't have to worry about this one being able to gain weight. Anyway, here are the stats for both of my boys compared at 2 months one week old.

Sakiusa was 11 lbs. 7 oz. and was 22 inches long
Kaveni was 13 lbs. 4 oz. and was 23 1/4 inches long

Also, Saki had his two year check-up. He weighed in at a whopping 22 lbs. 4 oz. He's below the 5th percentile. The funny thing is that Kaveni already weighs more than half of Saki's weight.
Anyway, I just wanted to write about how much I love these two little boys. They...along with my husband...are the best things that have ever happened to me. I can't even explain the joy I feel when I come home and Saki will run and hug me and say " I wub you" and Kaveni will smile when he hears my voice. I am so glad that they are mine to raise. They teach me so much every day and I would be so empty without them.

A Weekend With Poopie

A couple of weeks ago we went to visit my little sister for the weekend. And by the way there is no poop in this story...that is just one of her many nicknames. Anyway, the drive down was beautiful because it was all foggy and everything was frozen. Ife was making fun of me because I was trying to take pictures of the beautiful drive but couldn't really capture anything because he was driving like a CRAZY man. Anyway, I thought this was a cool picture if the car was cropped out. I of course, don't want to waste my time doing all of that stuff...like I really know how anyway.

Anyway, we went out to eat and had lots of fun, but the best thing was seeing my little Macie. She is such a good little girl and so much fun to play with.
We had tons of good food...Thanks Hope and Dustin...and went to church and all that stuff. I had to show the hilarious picture we got of Kaveni wearing one of Macie's bows. Obviously he knows he's not a girl and especially didn't like being dressed up like one.
Good thing his daddy could calm him down. He LOVES his daddy. By the way, Hope's house is AMAZING and I am so jealous of it. SOMEDAY!

BABY TAG

Hope tagged me. My very first tag :) Going through this I realized I have a horrible memory, so here we go. I also did it for both of my boys.

1- Where were you when you found out? Obviously in the bathroom with both, but I knew with both before I actually took the test because I was SICK right away.

2- Who did you first tell? I told Ife first with both. With Saki I don't think I really told anyone else until I was about 4 months pregnant...then, I told everyone...family...at the same time. With Kaveni I told Hope when I was a few weeks pregnant and told everyone else when I was 4 1/2 months pregnant.

3- Did you find out the sex of the baby? Yes! We found out with both boys. Of course we would have been happy with anything, but I wanted two of the same sex together...so it has gone perfectly so far.

4- Did you have morning sickness? Yes :( I was pretty sick with Saki. I threw up one or two times a day for the first 5 months. With Kaveni I started out by throwing up five or six times a day so I had to get on medication that helped me not throw up. I still always felt like throwing up though. The sensation lasted for about 6 months.

5- How much weight did you gain? With Saki I gained about 42 lbs I think. With Kaveni I gained 30 lbs. Sad I know.

6- Did you get any stretch marks? Unfortunately yes. I don't know why this was so hard for me. I think because I knew my body would never be the same again. And I knew that one of my sisters hadn't got any so I was determined not too. I swear I woke up one day and they were everywhere on my belly. They weren't there the day before I promise. Anyway, I got a bunch on my belly with Saki and no more with Kaveni. They didn't show back up again with Kaveni either, so that was good. He was even bigger than Saki...weird.

7- Did you have any cravings? Yeah, tuna fish sandwiches with Saki. Gross. With Kaveni I craved meatball marinara subway sandwiches and chocolate milk.

8- Were there any complications? Well, Saki was breach and my water broke so unfortunately I had to have a c-section....so I was pretty much 'forced' to have a c-section with Kaveni too.
9- When and where did you go into labor? My water broke with Saki at 35 weeks. I wasn't sure but I went in to the hospital just to get checked out. Of course I took NOTHING with me and they did some tests and my water HAD broken. So just as they were going to start me on medications to get my contractions going the doctor did an ultrasound to check the position of the baby. He was in breech position so, emergency c-section. It all happened within 30 minutes. With Kaveni my water broke too. Same thing, I wasn't sure but at least when I went into the hospital to check it out this time I took a bag with everything in it. Much better prepared. He was here within 2 hours.
10- Did your water break? Yep with both.
11- Who drove you to the hospital? Ife drove me both times. And with Kaveni we had Saki with us because we didn't really think we would have the baby at that time. Ife had to leave while I was getting prepped for surgery and take Saki to my sisters house.
12- Who was in the room for the birth? Ife, anesthesiologist, Dr., and a bunch of nurses and people who just count the tools before and after you have a c-section to make sure they don't leave anything inside of you. Ha Ha. I didn't notice this person the first time through.
13- Was the baby born early or late? Sake 5 weeks early, Kaveni 2 1/2 weeks early.

14- How long were you in labor for? Hmmm. Didn't really go into labor.

15- Did you have any drugs for the pain? Had to have a spinal epidural for both. Those kind of pinch a bit.

16- Natural or C-Section? Both c-sections.
17- What was your first reaction after birth? With Saki I was so shocked that everything had happened so fast I just stared at him while they were cleaning him up on the table next to me. I was scared that he would have to go to NICU, but he was fine. With Kaveni I was more relaxed and my emotions really hit me. I bawled while they were cleaning him up. I couldn't believe I had two beautiful boys.
18- How big was the baby? Saki was 6 lbs. 3 oz. Kaveni was 7 lbs. 11 oz.
19- Date and time of birth? Saki, December 21, 2006 at 6:31 p.m.
Kaveni, November 28, 2008 at 11:56 p.m.

20- Baby's name? Sakiusa Lauwai Tabakece, Kaveni Raseru Tabakece

21- Does the name have any significant meaning? Saki is Ife's brothers name. Lauwai is a different brothers name. Kaveni is his brother in laws name. His dad's name is Seru.
22- Did the baby have any complications? No, they both were very healthy.
23- How old is the baby today? Saki is 2 years, 1 month. Kaveni is two months, 1 week.

24- What kind of temperament has the baby had so far? Saki was very good and happy. He had three ear infections his first year. Other than that, he was ALWAYS happy. Kaveni is pretty happy all the time too. He just thinks he is ALWAYS hungry.

25- Would you change anything about it? I wish I would have been prepared for Saki coming early....like taking a bag to the hospital. I also wish I wouldn't have had to have a c-section...but couldn't really change that. REALLY everything was perfect with both.
