Saki has been sick for the past 8 days. That is a long time for a sleep deprived mom and a lethargic baby. I have felt so bad for him because he has just not been himself and he can never get comfortable unless I am holding him. At least he slept for a little while here.
I guess he finally found a comfortable spot next to his daddy.

Finally Getting Better

Ice Cream Lover
Ife and I never realized how much Saki loves ice cream until we went out to get some for family home evening. Anyway, Ife got his usual large sugar cone with two big scoops and I got a regular cone with a scoop. We didn't even think about getting Saki his own because we usually just share with him. Saki DID NOT want to share. He wanted his own. It was too late though because we were already home. Anyway, he wanted the big one, not mine. He wanted to hold it on his own and do everything by himself. He is starting to get very independant. Anyway, it was really cute; not to mention MESSY.

Hat Time
So, it's always been a chore of mine trying to keep a hat on Saki since he's been little. The worst was when he started to be able to take off his winter hats. I worried a little last summer because he has such fair skin that he would get burned. Now he is obsessed with hats and always wants one on before we go out of the house. He puts everything on his head thinking it is a hat. If I put a hat on, he takes it off and puts it back on in its right place. Here's how he put this baseball cap on the other day.
Diaper Cake
Okay, so thanks to Jenn, I had a really good idea on what to make my little sister for one of her baby showers. I remember reading that Jenn had made a diaper cake so I went and bought a few different things and started making my cake.I didn't really realize until I was already finished, how close it looks to hers, but anyway, thanks Jenn. I'm actually proud of myself and now that I've done it once, I feel like I have lots more cute and fun ideas if I need to do it again. It actually did not take long at all, and turned out being lots of fun.

Haircuts
I must say that I am not a beautician, so of course, I've had no training or experience cutting hair. If I had any girls I would definitely take them to a real place to get their hair cut, but I figured hmmm cutting hair can't be too hard, so I'll do it and think of how much money we'll save. So my adventure started when we were first married and I would try to follow Ife's instructions on how he wanted his hair cut "longer on the top and blended down until it's really short on the sides and back". Well, I guess our first argument occurred after that experience when we ended up just buzzing his whole head. *Side note... you must be thinking I'm an idiot, but when you remember that I am married to a frizzy haired Fijian who probably has triple the amount of hair that I have, you might be able to understand a little bit better.
Little did I know that they just cut off a lock of hair. Then I talked to Ife and said we needed to cut his hair so it could grow in even. The next morning when I woke up this is what I saw.....
I was so sad at first, but then happy to see what his then black curly hair would grow back in like. So we just let it grow. Here's what it looks like...very light brown...almost blond...and wavy. I think it's still cute though. Here's a picture of Ife and Saki when they both had semi-long hair. Saki had just gotten out of the bath and his hair hadn't dried yet.
Oh yeah, I need to add that I am getting better at blending. I still cut Ife's hair completely short, but try to blend Saki's. If I ever mess up, we just buzz it.....

No Cavities
Most of you know that I'm a dental hygienist, so of course I am obsessed with making sure that Saki brushes his teeth. He only had one (snaggle tooth) until he was 13 months, but finally he now has 5 and the 6th is ready to pop through any day.
