coffee macarons with espresso swiss meringue buttercream. success at last! haha (: actually i haven't tried making macarons for over two years :// but anyway, these were really yummy :D
lemon cupcakes filled with lemon curd, with lemon swiss meringue buttercream.
the cupcake was light, fluffy and refreshing. the lemon curd sank to the bottom, haha. my grandparents enjoyed this. my grandfather liked it so much my grandma asked for recipe so she can make it for him (:
strawberry gelato with frozen strawberries. nice and creamy despite not having as much cream as ice cream.
mango sorbet. i always find bright coloured desserts very refreshing, haha.
chewy oatmeal cookies with raisins, chocolate chips and walnuts.
shortbread.
macaron shells with feet! it's so fascinating to watch the feet form in the oven.
italian meringue.
espresso swiss meringue buttercream. smells heavenly (: i'm sure it's not just the coffee addict in me saying that. just kidding, i'm not a coffee addict.
baked two sheets together for the first batch, then found that the lower rack was paler so i switched to baking one sheet at a time.
it's dangerous having so much food and so many desserts in the house at once. must give more away, haha. giving my cousins some macarons (:

for my mum's birthday. next time i do another birthday cake, i'm going to forgo the 'happy birthday' chocolate words. in case you're wondering, that chocolate thing on the top right hand corner is supposed to be a dragonfly! with almonds for wings. had fun piping random stuff with the white chocolate anyway (:
bittersweet chocolate ice cream and coffee kahlua ice cream atop an oreo cookie base, frosted with espresso whipped cream spiked with kahlua.
lunch and shopping in town with carmen last monday, and lunch and shopping at haji lane and bugis junction with ju and hannah this afternoon (: i am off shopping for the next few weeks, no more spending money!!!

tiramisu: spongefingers soaked with espresso-tia maria, layered with coffee mascarpone cream, dusted heavily with cocoa powder. should have been more liberal with the liquer :/
for the class party at boon sim's. not a bad turnout, considering how many guys have enlisted. all the girls were there, daniel, isaac, ben and boon sim too. minkai ponned and cavan forgot about the party until 10pm. niceeee.
nothing much exciting happening in my life now, unless you count driving lessons and writing essays. grace chan and i keep meeting at the driving centre, haha. but she's always the one who spots me first. tricia was there today too.
oh! and how coincidental (: i met valerie from rv (whom i met at the imperial interview) at the theory practice room! haha. i was waiting outside the practice room, then saw her but she disappeared around the corner after that. i was 70% sure it was her, but couldnt be sure. haha then when she walked into the room, i waved to her and she sat down beside me.
i can't help it, i love the oatmeal cookies! i have them for breakfast and random snacks whenever i feel like it. rawr, must think before making them again, they're quite addictive :P
reading food blogs is a dangerous hobby :/ i can spend ages reading them.
sigh, i can't wait for march to be over.

i found this while i was googling for a cookie monster photo for my phone wallpaper. so cute (:
chewy oatmeal cookies with bittersweet chocolate chunks and lightly-toasted pecans.
the smell of these cookies when they're baking and when they come out of the oven, is just wonderful. they're not the normal thick oatmeal cookies - a fair bit flatter, a little crisp around the edges, and chewy in the centre. the edges have a slight caramel taste. i'd definitely make these again - my kind of cookie (:
lemon goldies. the lemon is very mild, i'd increase the amount of zest significantly if i make these again. but other than that, they smell really fragrant, almost like lemon perfume - if there was such a thing.
cookie (: so cute, haha. he always half-sleeping and lazing around when i'm baking in the kitchen.

new phone wallpaper :D because he's so adorable, and maybe because i share his love for cookies. cookie monster has a good life, i'm so jealous. haha.

had my first driving lesson today! (: i must say, it was rather fun - except for the times when i was stuck behind this other car for a relatively long period of time -.- met claire tan at bbdc before my lesson, she tapped me on the shoulder so hard from behind, i got such a shock. haha. went to the circuit area, met shaun from .5, found out that amos was also having his first lesson today. saw ida after that, apparently she'd just finished her lesson too.
hm, it's about time i got my life into some kind of order, sigh.
