Thanks.
Okay. I haven't posted here in a while, mostly because I've just been preoccupied with other things. But, I also started thinking a while back that it really wasn't a good idea for me to start a blog with my full name in the URL. I tried creating a new blog a couple of times, but I was still using the same Blogger account, which still had my full name.
But I've finally figured it out. I opened up an entirely NEW email address for the sole purpose of starting a NEW blog, which is not at all connected to this blog or the account under which it is listed.
Also, the NEW blog will be all-inclusive, not just about my life as a mom, but pretty much anything at all related to me or my interests that I feel like writing about. It will be a very personal, candid blog that I'm sure I will enjoy writing, whether or not any else really enjoys reading it (though of course I will be flattered if anyone actually does).
I have already copied and pasted all the blog posts from this blog onto my computer hard drive. Occasionally, I may repost some of my best blog posts from this blog into my new blog.
I am going to keep this blog up and running for maybe a week longer, then I will be cancelling this account.
Now, the moment you've been waiting for...My ALL NEW BLOG can be found at simplyentirelyme.blogspot.com I hope to see you there.
I promise. This is the LAST new blog from me...not like the others I tried to start...
Okay. I'm going now.
Thanks for reading :)

The great thing about having kids...
...is that I can totally let loose around them and it's perfectly legitimate! Yesterday evening, I took Gabe with me to get groceries. First, we stopped to get gas, and while the gas was pumping I played "peek-a-boo" with Gabe through the car windows. I would crouch down, then pop up with a silly face to make him laugh. I also kept running aroung the car, popping in and out of sight. Gabe loved it, I could see him laughing. Who cares if the rest of the world is staring?

Baby likes his Daddy...
This morning Nick was getting ready to go out the door for work. Zac noticed this, walked to the front door, and sat down to block his daddy from opening the door. He would not move. I picked him up, and he immediately reached for his daddy. I gave him to Daddy, and he clung to him. Every time I reached out to take him back, he turned and nuzzled into Daddy's shoulder. I finally had to pry him away, and he got so mad!
Nick said he found it rather gratifying that the baby wants to be with him so much...I said I found it gratifying, too :p

Glad he likes his veggies...
As I was chopping up broccoli for dinner yesterday, Gabe came to me and asked, "Can I have a piece of candy?" I said, "No...but you can have a piece of broccoli; would you like a piece of broccoli?" "Ummm...okay!" Gabe said, and I gave him a piece of broccoli, for which he thanked me before popping it into his mouth. Makes me feel good to know that my son will accept broccoli as a substitute for candy :D Maybe I'm not such a bad mom after all...

We took a walk to the bakery today, a few blocks from our home. While we were sitting eating our pastries, Gabe said he was thirsty. He wanted me to go to the counter and ask for some water for him, and in the past that is what I have done. But this time, I decided to do things differently. I suggested to him that he could go up and ask for his own water. He thought about this a moment. "No, you do it," he said.
"No, you can do it," I urged. He still wasn't convinced. So I explained to him that all he had to do was go up and say "Can I have some water, please?"
"But, the guy's busy right now" (it was a woman, but Gabe still has his genders confused sometimes).
"Well then, you say 'Excuse me,' and then wait, and then she'll come to you and say "What do you need?' and then you can ask her for some water."
Gabe thought about this, and eventually said "Oh. Okay." He went up to the counter, said "Excuse me," asked for his water, got the water and said "Thank you," and then carried his water back to our table. What a big boy!
And then, he spilled it...So, I guess that means he's not too big a boy yet.
:D

any food looks better with cheese on it!
Earlier today, I made myself a plate of leftover spaghetti squash and melted cheese and sat down to eat it. Gabe looked and asked what I was eating, so I told him. Now Gabe decided a long time ago that he doesn't like squash, and every time I have offered him some he has said "no thank you." But this time I asked him if he wanted some, and he said yes! Must've been the cheese that looked so appetizing to him...So, I scooped up some squash with a good deal of cheese with it, and offered him a bite (figuring that he would change his mind and not eat it. "No, no, I want my own!" Okay... So I got a plate and put a little on the plate and gave him a fork and he sat down to eat with me. He ate three whole bites! I think it was mostly cheese, but he did get a little squash with it, too. Where did my squash-hating son go? I wondered. And then he was back. He scooped up bite #4, looked at it critically, and then said "ewww! slimy!" and would eat no more.

Haven't been around here much...
A few events of note. Isaac is now One Year Old! He's is sooooo close to walking. He has his 12-month well-child check tomorrow morning and we will find out how much he weighs now. I'm guessing 27 lbs.
We have camped with family now two weekends in a row. Also Nick's siblings have been up visiting since last week, so we've been spending a lot of time at the In-laws'. I have hardly been home, it seems. My house certainly shows it, I am rather behind on dishes and laundry. But, I am going to get caught up in the next couple of days here.
Fair Week is this coming week, so Nick will be gone a lot working the booth for the family business. Fortunately, his sisters happen to be up visiting this week, though, so they might be helping out a bit. I think we might have Gabe "help" a couple of times, too; nothing like a cute little 3 yo to generate some attention, right?
Our summer should be winding down soon, though...It's been a good one!
