Brock @ 15 months:

This handsome little boy is 15 months old today!! I can't believe that he is already so big!

A few thing about Brock at 15 months:

He is saying a lot more things! He says: Mommy(all. day. long.) Daddy, sissy, Elmo, Bob the Builder, more, mine, please, thank you, no-no baby, roar, kitty, puppy, a,b,d,e,g,i,l,m,o,p, r, ruff-ruff, eye, uhh-eh (no), uh oh, banana, apple, ball, he made up his own word for Popsicle that is really strange sounding. It sounds like a "g" sound but he says it down in his throat. He says "d" for drink and "b" for binky.

He points and grunts or does his pterodactyl screech at everything he wants and will not stop until he gets it. This drives me crazy! Sydney picked up sign language so fast, and used her signs for everything. She never really went through the annoying point and grunt stage, because she could just sign to us what she wanted. I really need to work harder on getting him to sign more instead of his point, grunt and screech.

He signs: please, thank you, more, dog, fish, eat, cat, and all done. He tries to sign a few other words but they all pretty much look the same right now.

He started singing the ABC's. It sounds mostly like he is repeating the letter "D" over and over but when he sings it, and I sing along he gets so excited!

He still loves all kinds of music and has started dancing around in circles when he hears it. He makes me laugh when he dances because he tucks his head into his shoulder and then makes these tight little circles until he falls over and then does all over again.

He loves to tease he sissy. He goes over to her and hits her, or pokes her in the eye. She usually screams in outrage and he runs away laughing. Then he goes over and does it again.

He has been hitting me too, and he thinks it is so funny. I have started to put him down if he hits me, so maybe he will get the clue that he should not hit.

He still loves to climb, and climbs everything.

He eats yogurt at least once a day. He LOVES it!

He loves the ABC's and loves to get on the computer and play Star Fall.

He loves to read books. He will sit on our laps and point to all the letters he knows. He doesn't even pay much attention to the pictures anymore. If it has letters on it that is all he cares about. He has learned his ABC's faster than Sydney did. Sydney was at least 18 month old when she finally learned her ABC's. Really this little boy is obsessed!

He loves animals and is really pretty gentle when he sees them, and loves to pet them. He knows that dogs say "ruff-ruff", kitties "Meow", and Lions and bears "roar". All the other animals just "roar". He brought me a horse the other day and was insistent the the horse "roared".

He love balls and can throw them really far

He loves water and can get completely soaked in less than 2 seconds.

He has started to love babies too and always wants to come and look at them when he sees them. He loves to point out their eyes and nose.

He loves his binky and blanket. I think that I am going to start letting him have his binky only when he is in his crib. I am worried that it will slow down his language skills because he has started to just grunt instead of talk when he has his binky in.

I guess the biggest mile stone that happened is that Brock is not longer nursing. It has been about a week and a half sense he nursed last. I had been slowly weaning him from nursing, but he got sick about a week ago and refused to nurse. He also started refusing his sippy cup. We were desperate to get liquids inside of him so we broke our no Popsicle rule and got him some. He now begs and pleads for Popsicles all day long. He will take me to the fridge and cry and through a tantrum until he gets one. We gave in because he would not drink anything else. After about a week of this I was way tired of it so I went out and got him new sippy cups and he is now drinking out of a cup again.

I love the huge smile on his face while he eats his popcicle in this picture but I hate that he has a pink bib on. Most of my bibs are boy bibs but for some reason he got a pink bib this time. Oh well he is pretty secure in his manhood so no problem.

We love you Brocky-boy! Stop growing!

Nap time today....

Found my boy sleeping like this for his first nap today:
and sleeping like this for his second nap:

This guy should get fired...

I bought these on the Internet (rumor has it that they can help with bad teeth) for Sydney,
It came to my door in this box:

Surrounded in lots and lots of bubble wrap.

The guy in the packing department should be fired. I'm just sayin'....

The kids and I did have a blast dancing on the bubble wrap though.

The "D" word and an update

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. The "D" word has come to visit me once again and I am fighting and struggling to make it pack its bags and leave me alone. For those of you who don't know what the the "D" word is, lean in close and I will whisper it to you. Ready? Are you close?
*depression.*

There I said it. Don't make me say it again because it makes me feel like I want to cry all the time. All I want to do is sleep and hide in my room, which is impossible to do with kids, as you Mommy's well know. I guess having to take care of my kids is a good thing, because if it wasn't for them I WOULD hide in my room all day, and I WOULD sleep for hours on end, and I would just sit and cry my eyes out. Doing all those things do not help the "D" word, it only feeds it, making it into a huge scary "D" monster and we don't need that now do we. Nope!

So I get out of bed each morning and I do the things that need to be done. Yes, I sometimes stay in my pj's all day, my house is usually a mess and I rarely make dinner. But I am out of bed and I am taking care of my kids. They are my rocks. They are my everything! I love them to the very core of my heart and I can not even imagine my life with out them.

So here are a few things they have been up too, that has kept me out of my bed and busy.
We got seven tadpoles from my Mom's house. One accidentally fell down the drain when I was cleaning the cage, and three of them have sense grown legs. Sydney has named them Grandfather, Grandmother, and the babies. When they get big they are going back to my Mom's house to be set free.

We went to Quail Lake over the 4th of July weekend. The kids had a blast digging in the sand, making sand castles and playing in the water!
Brock was super grumpy when ever we had to stop him from eating rocks , or running out into the water.

Later that day Sydney went to do this:

Sydney went to the dentist for the first time. I am kicking myself over and over for not taking her sooner but I just didn't feel like she was ready for it. We found out she has two cavities in her top front teeth. The dentist wants to pull her teeth out(because of possible infection down the road that could cause problems for her heart) but I am bound and determined to save her two front teeth for as long as we can. So after two days of sobbing my eyes out, I have become the "teeth Nazi" and make Sydney brush, floss and rinse her teeth three times a day. We will be going in to fix her teeth on Aug 13th. She has to have them done at the hospital under general anesthesia because her dentist does not think it is safe to do regular sedation in his office because of her heart. I am very nervous about going this route but this was the only route that seemed right to me.

Sydney got this Rex toy for letting me brush her teeth 3 times a day for a week. She is in love with Toy Story lately, so we made a chart up with all the things she needs to do with her teeth. Brush, floss, and rinse, and when she fills the chart up she gets a toy(I have taken away all candy, juice and pop so that is really the only prize I can give her!) When we started the teeth brushing chart it took both Seth and I to hold her down to brush and floss her teeth but gradually she has got the hang of it and only cries a little bit while we do it. Also I have discovered that if we fill the sink with water while we are brushing her teeth and let her play in it, she hardly protest at all while we do her brushing routine.

Brock loves to color and is obsessed with is letters. He can tell me many of the letters and their sounds and finds letters all day long and points them out to me. Reallly he is obsessed!!

This is Sydney waiting for her fist day of swim class.

Sydney started swimming lessons yesterday. She has been so excited to learn to swim like a dolphin, and it has been so GREAT for her to get out of the house! Thank you so much Christina for taking Sydney, you are the best in the west(as Sydney would say!)
I am wondering what happened to my smiley little boy, he has been super grumpy lately and this is a face that I see a lot from him. Grumpy with his little lip sticking out. Super cute, but hard to handle all day long!!!

Anyway that is what we have been up to the last few weeks. You get a gold star if you stuck through to the end of the this post. If you just looked at the pictures that is fine too. Bye now.
