It's time to bid 2014 a fond adieu!  Can you believe that when you wake up tomorrow it will be 2015?  Seriously, it seems like January 2014, t was just the other day.  I want to wish everyone a very safe and happy new year.  I hope that 2015 is a great year for you!

The Swirlydoos December kit was filled with gorgeous papers from Bo Bunny's Rose Cafe collection. Here I've  layered some scraps under the photo and added some journal pieces from the Rose Cafe collection Noteworthy Journal cards at the bottom of the photo.

I made the flowers using the Prima beads from the kit and Diamond Dust and stamen from my stash. I'll have a video tute on January 3rd to show you how to make these simple flowers.

Supplies:
Patterned paper:  Bo Bunny Rose Cafe collection:  Pink background - Rose Cafe,  brown and floral under photo - Espresso,  Rose Cafe Noteworthy Journaling cards
Diecuts and punches:  Alterations Tattered Floral, Martha Stewart Flourish Lace
Flowers:   handmade
Mist:  Lindy's Starburst Cosmopolitan Pink
Masks:  Prima Decor 1 & 2
Masking paste: 13 Arts  Ayeeda white gesso
Paint:      white
Other:  Diamond Dust, Prima beads, Darice stamen

I created the background on this layout by first tearing off a little strip of paper all along the edges of Bo Bunny's French Roast paper.  Then I inked and furthered distressed the edges a bit.  Next I stamped randomly with Mixed Media stamps and Stazon silver ink.  Then I did some masking in the upper right corner with a Prima Decor mask and Shimmerz Texturez.  I pressed some beads into the masking paste before it dried.  For a final touch to my background, I sprayed on some Shimmerzing Goldie Lox.  That just gives an overall shimmer to my background without adding much color.

I added a piece of cardstock to the back of my layout and I've used embossing enamel around the edges.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Bazzill Gem Onyx
Patterned paper: Bo Bunny Rose Cafe French Roast, Noteworthy Journal Cards,
Laser cuts swirls: Bo Bunny Clockwork Shapes
Embossing powder: Stampendous aged gold
Flowers: Petaloo Sugared Berry Cluster blue, Petaloo Jeweled Flowers Lavender
Ink: Stazon Silver, Distress Gathered Twigs.
Mist: Shimmerzing Goldie Lox
Masks: Prima Decor
Masking paste: Shimmerz Texturez Sandy Stone
Stamps: Stamper's Anonymous Mixed Media
Other: Prima Resins 572358, Bo Buny Film Sticker, Prima Beads - butter

Hi everybody! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas. I had an amazing time with my family - I ate too much food and candy, watched lots of old movies on TV, played tons of games with my children and I have had some scrappy time too!

Today I have one layout and a card to share with you, made with the fabulous Swirlydoos December kit "Enchanted Evening". I adore the blue and purple shades in this kit!

The title of this layout is "1953" and that was the year this photo of my father and his little brother was taken. They look so handsome in their little suits! My father passed away a couple of years ago, and scrapbooking his old photos is my way to remember him.

I have used three of the papers from BoBunny, from the kit. I used a diecut paper as a template. I distressed the edges a bit to get a shabby look.

The background was created with a stencil and clear gesso, I then misted with purple mist and let the ink run a bit.

The wooden clock from BoBunny is from the embellishment add-on and just perfect for my vintage page! I painted the clockface and swirls with white gesso, just a bit.

I have also added a couple of wood embellies from a previous kit.

The pink flowers with yellow centers was a part of my Christmas gift in the secret sister swap on the Swirlydoos forum - thank you, Maggi!

I also have a card to share today, a pretty simple one with just a piece of paper from the main kit, a diecut from the embellishment add-on and Petaloo flowers and berries from the main kit.

Thank you for stopping by today! Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

xoxo
Helena

Hello Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! It comes so quickly and before you know it, it's New Year's. Are you ready for 2015?

I have some more projects to share using the Swirlydoos December Kit, Enchanted Evening.

For my first project I made a canvas. Using the Clear Gesso and Ferro Paint from Mediums Kit, I made the texture base.   From there I just layered up the embellishments.

The second project I made is a layout. I usually get  inspired by the paper or embellishments. This time around the title of the kit, Enchanted Evening, made me want to scrap a sultry yet romantic photo.

Hi =) First of all Merry Christmas to you all. Today I´m here to show you two more layouts made with the December kit Encanted Evening.

My first one is about some winter fun.Three days before chirstmas we still didn´t have any snow... and I live in the north of Sweden were it´s rare to not have snow in December but two days before it starded snowing so now the kids ( and adults) can go out and play in the snow.

For this layout I´ve used the Main Kit, Flower Kit, Embellishment Kit and Mediums kit. From the Mediums Kit I´ve used the InkLings.

My next page is just a happy one =). I really love being a mum. It´s the best thing in life for me. Love my boys the give me so much love and good times.

For this Layout I´ve used the main Kit, Flower Kit and Embellisment Kit.

Thanks for stopping by =)

Hey Savages, Kim here to share my second reveal layouts with you. This kit was so fun to work with (I know I say that every month), but it was so diverse in colors. You could do a totally shabby girly layout with the yellows, then turn around and do something grungy with the blues. Plus there are enough neutral colors to please anyone.

So here is a masculine layout I did with the kit. I loved that the blues in this kit were a true navy blue.
I used elements from the main kit and the embellishment kit. I love this photo of my dh. I finally found the right papers to highlight it properly. I heat embossed the chippie with 2 different colors, then brushed it with the inklings form a previous kit.

Next I worked with the project kit. I created this book box to hold my cards that I received from my swirly sisters in a Christmas Card swap we did.

The papers that came with this kit were gorgeous, as were the flowers. I just used some gold embossing powder on the chippie.

Here is the side of the book. I applied a layer of gesso, then some silks acrylic paint in gold. Once that dried I used some kroma crackle on it. It looks like worn leather. I love it.

Here is another side view. I covered the other side using a simpler sheet of paper in the kit. Just look at all the dimension on the book. Again, everything on the book came in the kit, except for the piece of twine I used for the bow.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my second reveal for the December *Enchanted Evening* kit. This weeks LOTW goes to Stephanie. She created this gorgeous layout using the October *Treasured Yesterdays* kit.

I love her fussy cutting and the placement of her embellishments. The floral cluster on the bottom is a great addition to a great photo.

Congrats Steph.

Hey Savages, Kim here with a quick Saturday tutorial. I altered a cardboard bottle holder. I plan on using this to hold a bottle of wine I'm giving to someone for the Holidays. This is a wonderful way to transport and display a nice gift for someone.

I had a lot of fun creating this. The best part is that is was very quick to do. I dug deep into my Christmas stash, pulled out a bunch of goodies and got to work. Everything I used on this came from a Swirlydoos Christmas kit from 2010.

Here is the final product.

If you want to see my step by step process, come on over to the forums and check it out. It can be found right here.
