Today I got the most fantastic thing from Freecycle. Two very large bags full of fabric cut up into fat quarters and a bag full of scraps - I am in fabric heaven!!!
Here is a close up of some of the fabrics. Just got to think of what to make with it all now!!
Rosie if you are reading this then thank you very much :-)

Hee hee!
Fame at last for Anya! Here she is modeling a skirt I made for her from an Ikea duvet. I'm hopefully making myself one in green for the summer but we will see! I love Ikea Hacker - it has some great ideas on it and I find myself looking through the catalogue seeing what I could hack!

Ideas please
I'm thinking of doing a project whereby I publish something on here everyday. What do you think? It would have to be quick and easy 'cos with two children I haven't got much time and I'd also like it to be crafty. I haven't had much crafty stuff put up on here so it would be nice to have something to do on a daily basis. I like Shishomama for doing something crafty everyday and I also like abirdinthehand for her very simple but effective ideas.
So, if anyone is out there reading this then please feel free to offer advice on what daily crafty thing I can do!

More Goa
It seems that wherever I go I always collect pictures of advertising and Goa was no different. In fact it was great because people are paid to have their houses/walls decorated with advertisements. They are all painted too so I guess it would take a while!
Kingfisher is very popular out here - they make good beer but also do bottled water and airlines - nothing like diversifying! Here is one of their adverts.
Here is another one for sun cream + dog!
And here is my favourite one - it's a bit blurred because we were driving past on the bus but you get the general impression!

Goa!
Well the trip to Goa was fantastic. Not as much fabric as I would have liked - there were lots of finished items rather than the materials to buy. I still managed to buy some things though! Scary drivers in Goa - you give way to traffic coming onto the roundabout rather than the traffic on the roundabout. I was scared stiff as we hurtled towards a busy roundabout outside the capital when there was loads of traffic on it. Motorbikes are popular too in Goa but it's funny to see the drivers wearing helmets but not the passengers - usually wives with huge bags of shopping! They also ride side saddle which must make balancing pretty difficult. Here's a piccie of some of the traffic in Panjim.
Here's a picture of the beach we stayed overnight at - the sunset was amazing. Our little party was the only one there so only 20 or so people along a lovely stretch of beach.
Here's the tent we stayed in on the beach - more like a hotel room than a tent! It had beds, dressing table and even a separate bathroom - luxury indeed!
Me inside the tent - it even had rugs on the floor!

Eurgh!!
Not been at all well this week - I'm taking anti malaria tablets in preparation for going to Goa on Thursday and they have made me sooooo sick. I seem to be perking up a bit now though as Thursday is drawing closer!! I have looked through the travel guide and I've marked out where the flea markets are so fabric shopping here I come!! Hopefully when I get back I will be able to use some of it to make up some more chickens.
So I will be back soon, hopefully with a tan and lots of bargains!

Meet Cheeky Chicken
Isn't she cute?? Very patriotic too with her red, white and blue stripes. She is a doorstop made from thrifted vintage fabrics - so she is quite green too! She is stuffed with rice to make her heavy enough to hold a door open. She is available for sale in my Etsy shop and some of her friends will be joining her soon.
Here should be a close up of the tag on her bum!
