A Little Anecdote from My Brother's Classroom...
A science teacher assigned her science classes a scientific project to do during the one-week winter recess. One boy from the class decided to do this really 'creative' project. First, he prepared 3 potted plants of the same type, labelled them A, B and C. Then, he put A as a control plant in a controlled situation, with sunshine, water and air. B is placed in the same condition, but with ROCK music playing in the room while C is placed in, also the same condition, but with CLASSICAL music playing in the room. He left the plants in each respective condition for 3 days. His hypothesis: Music affects plant growth. His results: Plant A - As it is grown in a controlled condition, its plant growth should be the normal rate. Plant B - ROCK music did not affect plant's growth. Plant C - CLASSICAL music did not affect plant's growth. In conclusion, music and its different genres does not affect plant growth. Thus, his hypothesis is rejected.
