Welcome everyone to our Sweet Wednesday Sketch.....so glad to have each and every one of you, whether old friend or a newbie, not unlike myself. This has been such a fabulous first month as part of the design team here at SSW. I have loved playing at SSW ever since finding this fun challenge blog back in the Winter and the welcome that I have felt from my design team sisters and you the friends that support this great site is just so wonderful. I would like to now introduce you to my part of the universe. My husband and I live in the Appalachain Mountains in the Southwestern part of the great state of Virginia. We both grew up here and think it is one of the best and most beautiful parts of the world. We are near the
Blue Ridge Parkway one of the most beautiful and traveled parts of our National Park Service.

The Parkway is 469 miles running between North Carolina and Virginia with superb views and slow winding roads that just beg you to relax and enjoy the world that God has given us. Mabry Mill is located just a little over 30 minutes from where we live and has wonderful memories from my childhood and visits there with my family. Isn't it Beautiful? and in the Fall when the leaves start changing colors.... it is my very favorite season of the year. I love the smell of Apple Cider, seeing the pumpkins and baskets of apples at the fall harvest sales. That is one of the reasons that the area we live in, is so special....we have 4 definite seasons with none of them overly long. Always something to look forward to.
Mabry Mill
Doesn't this look like a magical place to be, in the middle of all those beautiful colors?
We live in a small town of around 6,000 and at the opposite end of our county is the highest point in Virginia, Mt.Rogers which is 5,769 feet above sea level. You will find the Appalachain Trail that runs from Georgia to Maine runs right through this park and wilderness. There are lots of other hiking trails, campsites and horse back riding trails in this beautiful landscape.

So glad to show you a small part of my world and so happy to be able to post for Sweet Sketch Wednesday and to be a small part of yours....thanks again everyone for the warm welcome to the design team.
