PAPADOM. It is one of the best Malay movies that I have watched. The feeling of loved, cared and understanding shown in this movie. It gives positive feedbacks to the viewers. I went back to my hometown last Friday (23 Oct 09) and I went out with 'mr.ryte'. We wanted to watch something new with actions and interesting moves back then, but we ended up watching 'Papadom' because the time of the movie that we both wanted to watch was way too late. The movie was quite funny though it was a bit slow in the middle of it. It was interesting and quite fun too.

Afdlin Shauki's simple father-daughter tale in "Papadom" yells out a heartfelt story based on a 'what if' situation. "What would happen if my wife had passed away?" - that is the ultimate question posed by Afdlin in this touching family drama. The story surrounds itself on Saadom (Afdlin Shauki), who runs a Nasi Kandar business in Penang. He becomes too preoccupied with his work till he has very little time for his young daughter, Mia till a point where he almost forgets her birthday.

Soon, his life takes a dramatic turn when his wife passes away due to a car accident. He is then left alone to care for Mia and realises how precious she means to him. Interestingly enough, Saadom turns from a hardworking shop owner into a doting father dedicating his time and efforts into taking care of Mia. He even looked like he would go to the ends of the earth for her - Yes, he is that protective!

The tasty papadom gives the story a unique symbolic meaning. In the beginning, Mia's love for her father's papadoms is heavily portrayed, providing a well-pieced story in the end. The moral of the story is clear and understandable as it embeds a point of realisation on the importance of family. But then again in the film, Saadom goes to the extreme as he even takes up a job at her campus so he could be near enough to protect her. A real doting father. Surprisingly, the award-winning director and actor, Afdlin had confessed that his character Saadom is a real reflection of him if something were to happen to his wife.

The film's script and actor's performances are of good entertainment. With Afdlin Shauki behind the works, there is bound to be some witty lines and hilarious awkward behaviours. However, don't expect a lot of funny scenes as it is in fact a drama. Liyana Jasmay stayed true to her playful character Mia as she starts her new life on campus. While Que Haidar does justice to his character as the nerdy looking guy who tries to court Mia. Potential love interest can be seen between Vanidah Imran and Afdlin Shauki's character. However, the romance fell short of its performance as the focus heavily remained on Saadom and Mia.

"Papadom" is a down-to-earth film that stays true to the relationship between a single father and his daughter.

-TrUe L0vE?-

Do you know what is called as True Love?. Are you having some feelings towards somebody special? Read below to know whether your feelings are Love or not.

* Are your palms sweaty, is your heart racing and is your voice caught within your chest?
-It isn't love, it's LIKE.

* You can't keep your eyes or hands off of her, am I right?
-It isn't love, it’s LUST.

* Are you proud, and eager to show her off??
-It isn't love, it’s LUCK.

* Do you want her because you know she's there??
-It isn't love, it’s LONELINESS.

* Are you with her because it’s what everyone wants??
-It isn't love, it’s LOYALTY.

* Are you with her because she kissed you, or held your hand?
-It isn't love, its LOW CONFIDENCE.

* Do you stay for her confessions of love, because you don't want to hurt her?
-It isn't love, it’s PITY.

* Do you belong to her because the sight of her makes your heart skip a beat??
-It isn't love, it’s INFATUATION.

* Do you pardon her faults because you care about her?
-It isn't love, it’s FRIENDSHIP.

* Do you tell her every day she is the only one you think of?
-It isn't love, it’s a LIE.

* Are you willing to give up all of your favorite things for her sake?
-It isn't love, it’s CHARITY.

* Does your heart ache and breaks when she's sad?
-Then it's LOVE.

* Do you cry for her pain, even when she's strong?
-Then it's LOVE.

* Do her eyes see your true heart, and touch your soul so deeply it hurts?
-Then it's LOVE.

* Do you stay because a blinding, incomprehensible mix of pain and relation pulls you close and holds you to her?
-Then it's LOVE.

* Do you accept her faults because it's a part of who she is?
-Then it's LOVE.

* Are you attracted to others, but stay with her faithfully without regret??
-Then it's LOVE.

* Would you give her your heart, your life, your death??
-Then it's LOVE.

Now, if love is painful, and tortures us so, why do we love?
Why is it all we search for in life? This pain, this agony?

Why is it all we long for? This torture, this powerful death of self? Why?
The answer is so simple because it's...LOVE.

It is such addictive things that even people who are not having it wish to experience it and share it with others as well.
"The greatest weakness of humans is their hesitancy to tell others how much they love them while they are still alive"

-wHaT!?!-

I woke up in the morning feeling so fresh and cheerful, but a little bit tired though.I actually just got back from a friend's house. My room8, ina and I went to Ipoh yesterday. We did some shopping and stuff. We then went to the 'gig' which called 'Tragedi Oktober-1st Anniversary' organized by 'Tekan Sayang Community'.It was located in Stadium Belia dan Sukan, somewhere in Ipoh. The fee for each person was RM18.It was the first time I went to something like that and I think that would be the last too because 'mr.ryte' doesn't want to let me go to that kind of place anymore.I went there just because I wanted to see what would it be like there. As for me,it was awesome and great the 'gig' was.I enjoyed it much!Plus, the environment wasn't that bad at all, except that it was too cold in there. There were quite a lot of band playing at that time.I think it was more than ten band. One of the band would be my friends'.They played well that time.We left the place while the all girls band - 'vermillion' which comes from selangor was playing and didn't watch the rest of the next band.We then went to liza's house because she invited us to her open house. We stayed the night at her house.

Early this morning on our way back to campus,we bumped into an old building that has collapse. It took half of the road,so the police closed the road and make another way for the cars to go through. The tragedy killed two people and injured one person. Here's some of the picture of the state of the building that have collapse:-
