Miss You

I was lucky enough to have this card selected for publication in the July/August issue of Paper Crafts magazine.

That sweet bird cage is a Melissa Frances embellishment. Love those to pieces. Have a great week.

Week #66 at The Shabby Tea Room

I am thrilled to be the guest designer this week over at the Shabby Tea Room. This is the beautiful inspiration photo for the current challenge:

                                                    Pink Lemonade

And here is my card...

The vintage doily is layered over some PTI Spring Moss CS. The patterned paper is Webster's Pages. I used some vintage book print for the leaves, cut with Papertrey Ink's Turning a New Leaf die. I also used their Parisian Doily die with Sweet Blush CS. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's fabby new Garden Variety stamp set. I really like the combination of pink and green and anything with flowers so this particular week's challenge was perfect for me. I so enjoyed being in the Shabby Tea Room spot light this week.
I hope you will join us over at The Shabby Tea Room for this week's challenge. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful week.

Farm Chicks Weekend

Even though this is not a paper crafting post, we sure got a lot of super creative ideas at the Farm Chicks Show. What is a Farm Chick?

A Farm Chick is a girl who sees the world through rose-colored glasses. She loves her family. She laughs a lot. She's farmgirl meets Fifth Avenue and with a little style, she'll change the world.

It's hard to find the words to describe this event. Picture thousands of nice gals, most dressed in lace and floral dresses and cowboy boots, all sharing a common interest and loving vintage things. Then there are the vendors. Their spaces are so creative and elaborate. It's just the most fun. I hope that some day you get to experience the Farm Chicks Show.

Hi There

The Shabby Tea Room has a fun recipe challenge for week #64: '2-4-6'.
Our recipe includes 2 patterned papers, 4 buttons, and 6 layers.

I'm also entering this in the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge based on this sketch:

I stamped the doily pattern onto PTI Vintage Cream CS with Waltzingmouse Dainty Doilies - Large Set. Ever since first seeing this set I have wantd to create patterned paper with it. The blue die cut doily was made with a Spellbinders Floral Motif die.
For those of you as old as me - do you remember colored 'typing' paper? I have a large stack that was given to me many years ago that I have kept just in case I need it. It makes the prettiest translucent doilies!
And those pink depression glass buttons finally got placed on a card. I've been admiring those for years too. If you have a button shanker you can remove shanks from glass buttons just like you do with plastic buttons. Then you can glue them down.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog.
