Some facts about our sweet Dallas:
*She is growing like a weed. She was in the 50th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference at her 2-month checkup. She weighs 10 pounds 6 ounces and is 23 inches long--exactly 3 pounds heavier and 2 inches taller than on her birthday.
*Dallas smiles constantly and insists on being held upright where she can see everything. People who don't know this about her try to hold her like a baby, and she gets fussy. All you need to know about this girl is that she's nosy and doesn't want to miss a thing.
*She rolls over already! She is skinny, still with little popsicle-stick legs, but she is wiry and surprisingly strong. When on her back, she tries to sit up and can get her head and back well off the ground.
*Dallas has found her Prince: His name is RIO! She smiles for him more than anyone else. Rio sings to her (her favorite is "Home On the Range"), while holding her face so she can't look away, she smiles . He growls like a tiger, she smiles. He jams on his guitar like a rockstar, she giggles. He bounds out of nowhere suited in full Batman attire to rescue her, she grins. He picks her up and packs her around in quite awkward positions, she beams! Dallas idolizes Rio, and no doubt he adores her. I hope they always feel this way about each other.
We love every moment of our perfect little family and are so blessed to get to be together forever!

Dallas Amelia Wright
Dallas Amelia Wright is finally here! She was born Friday, May 14th, weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces and measuring 21 inches.
Rio chose her name, and we LOVE it. I think "Dallas" and "Amelia" are both strong, beautiful names for a strong, beautiful girl!
My due date was May 13th, and I was shocked that I went that far with her. I was spoiled with Rio--my water broke with him 3 weeks early--so those last few weeks with Dallas were very long and uncomfortable.
I went in on at 6:30 p.m. on the 13th and I was dilated to about a 3 and 80% effaced, so my doctor stripped my membranes. Right away, I started having contractions. We took Rio to my parents' in case anything progressed. By 9:30 p.m. my contractions were coming hard, about a minute and a half apart, so we headed to the hospital.
She was born at 4:00 that morning. HALLELUJAH!!!! The never-ending pregnancy is over! I can breathe! I can read to Rio and have him actually sit on my lap! I can paint my toenails! I can run! I can hug my husband without a basketball between us! Now it's just cantaloupe-sized hoo-hoos... :)
Dallas is PERFECT! We are having so much fun with her already. Rio is the best big brother; he wants to hold her and help me out in any way he can, and he talks to her in this sweet high-pitched voice ("Hey, little missy!") that I love. It is so fun to see our little family grow. We were obviously already parents, but I think the second child makes it feel a little more like a family.
Ryan has also been amazing. I tell him he is what every girl dreams of in a husband! He is always so good around the house anyway, but the past few days he has done anything that needs to be done just to make me feel like I don't need to worry about anything. I love him more than words can express.
I can't wait to be sealed to my dream guy and my two beautiful kids in two weeks!
Life is Beautiful.

My Latest Feats:
Anyone want to pick up a new hobby? Quilting is the most expensive, time-consuming hobby known to man! But it's ADDICTING!! Here are the latest quilts I've finished:
TAXI:
SULTRY:
FRESH-SQUEEZED:
And, in memory of my very first quilt:
I will be back to school in less than a week, so I'll be kissing my little quilting love affair goodbye for a while--or at least I won't be quilting as much as I'd like. :)
Oh, and perhaps I'll get some pics of our new house once we're all settled. We are so excited to have our very own home!!
