THE FAMILY. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

Easter Egg Hunt & Party

On Wednesday April 4th, we had a fun Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Party.  Whitney, Jill and I stuffed almost 800 eggs with Candy.  We took one cute picture of the group before they were off to collect their sweet treasures.   The kids were so excited to have their cousins here to enjoy the fun.

The kids were all over the place for the hunt, so I just followed Ella and snapped a few shots of her on her first egg hunt.

One last picture before we headed back to the house for our Easter Lunch Party.

These paper carrots were stuffed with jelly beans.
Kristen made the adorable (and super time consuming, I'm sure) cupcakes and deviled eggs.  I made the egg shaped sandwiches, fruit salad baskets, cheese ball carrots, and carrot sticks with dip.

After the kids ate lunch, Ella laid down for a nap (thank goodness) while we colored Easter eggs.

I loved watching their creativity.  They came up with the most amazing designs.

Spring Break 2012

Let me just say that I love my little sister Jill!  Spring Break was a few days away and the kids and I had no plans, but Drew was working.  So I called my sister Jill to see what she was up to.  After some convincing she agreed to drive her three kids the 7 hours from her house to mine, to spend the week with us.  And we had a GREAT time!

There wasn't much to do here except hang out, so we did a lot of that.  One of the days we decided to let the kids "fish" in the kiddie pool in the backyard.  It was about 65 degrees.

It started out innocent enough.  Some of the kids in swimsuits.  Some not.

Then somewhere along the way, it became more of a dare to challenge the frigid waters.  Everyone (except Eli - bless his heart, and Mia)  took the challenge head on.

Mia was more interested in playing "Draw Something" then getting wet.

Little Ella wore herself out.
