Play Date Cafe Challenge #37

Look at the beautiful picture that Julie selected for this weeks challenge at the Play Date Cafe Challenge.  This weeks the colors are drawn from the picture and no color swatches. :) So you get to pick your inspiration from the color palette.

This week's picture fit right in with some fun trim I just purchased and wanted to use on a card.

The Cosmo Cricket Material Girl paper was a perfect match for the beautiful trim. Not only that but I love the rulers lines as it reminded me of the shelves in the inspiration photo.

I had the trim, the paper with the cut out circle, the dress form and the sentiment all figured out. Then I got stuck, I stamped the other images and didn't know what to do with them. I walked up to my daughter Tanya and asked her to figure out how to use the pieces on the card. I walked back 5 minutes later and voila!  She had placed the items just as you see them.

So nice to have a backup designer in the house!

Products:
  • Hero Arts - Sew Artsy, Simple Handmade
  • Versafine - Toffee
  •  Ranger Distress Inks - Wild Honey
  • Hero Arts - Shadow Ink - Soft Sand
  • Cosmo Cricket - Material Girl
Mariana Grigsby  is also joining us in the challenge this week as our guest designer!  We also have a fun prize from Jelly Bean Designs!

The rest of the design team also created some beautiful projects using the inspiration colors.

I think this week is going to be fun to see how everyone interprets and uses the color palette!

Card Patterns Sketch #71

Sorry about the second post for today.. I wanted to share the card that I created for the Card Patterns #71 sketch challenge.

Here is my take on the sketch:

This card was created at the same time as my other card and I stamped the Pure Innocence image two times. This was one that I created for the card drive that Jennifer McGuire is hosting for a little girl name Grace. The details are here.   The card drive is going on until the end of the month for Grace, and Jennifer has a card drive for other children that is on-going.

The stamps are Pure Innocence from My Favorite Things and Cornish Heritage Farms.

Thanks for stopping by...

Mojo Monday 146

Mojo Monday Challenge 146 is a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:

This is  a second birthday card for my youngest as she saw the other one created for her.  She walked in on me while I was working on this one too! :)  There were two cards created using this cute little girl and I will share the second one tomorrow.

The design on the left is a combination of the birthday definition stamp and the Stars Designblock from Hero Arts. Stamped using Fire Brick Red from Ranger Distress Inks and Dandelion yellow from Memento.

The little girl image is a stamp from My Favorite Things - Pure Innocence - Fairy Girl. She was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with a variety of Copics.

The super talented Donna had mentioned on her blog Three Umbrellas  using a white Sharpie Paint Pen for polka dots. Last time I was at Dick Blick I saw the pen and picked it up. It came in handy today. I used it to touch up the dress with a few polka dots. I also used it to touch up my spots on my mushroom. :)

Hope you have a lovely Tuesday!

Memory Box New What's In The Box Release

This week on the Outside The Box blog the design team are sharing projects using the new Release!  There are two posts per day. (Mine is today!)  You have a chance to win the featured stamp on each post, all you have to do is head over to the blog and leave a comment.   There is a time constraint for each day and leaving comments. So make sure to stop by daily and see what has been created.

To celebrate Outside The Box blog blitz, I am sharing with you both cards I created.

It was really hard to decide which stamp to feature. They are all fantastic and the papers are gorgeous!!! I can't wait to share more of those. The WIB release has the Christmas and Halloween stamps.  I picked out the Singing Bird Trio (E1401) stamp. I just thought they were so cute and it look like they are telling secrets.  :)

The sign post is actually a really cool cat and lamp post stamp. I just turned it on it's side and used it as a sign post.  The "fa la la la la" is part of the Singing birds stamp and is attached to the side of the wood block.

Green Veggies

I know a few people who when they were little wouldn't eat their green vegetables. :) (My DH included)

I created this card for a family friend who needs a little encouragement right now. Every time I see him we talk about his garden.  He is a fantastic gardener and that inspired me to pull out some of my papers for the garden.

I decided to create a card that meets the City Crafter Challenge and the Hero Arts food challenge and is (I hope) a perfect card for our friend.

The papers are from the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety 6 x 6 paper.  The background to the veggies is from October Afternoon Farm Fresh.  The images are from a cute set from Hero Arts called Kiss the Cook.

I am working on a few projects for Monday. I will be sharing on my blog some projects using the new Memory Box stamps from the What's in the Box Release. I will be sharing the same projects on Monday on the Outside the Box blog.  All week long the Outside the Box blog is having a blitz of projects from the design team with opportunities to win the stamps being featured.

There is still time to play along with us at the PDCC! The colors are pink, white and red!

Have a lovely Saturday!

Moxie Fab & Hero Arts

A couple of challenges mixed into one card:

I created this card for three purposes...

Here is the inspiration layout to create from

The layout is from Jen Jockisch.

I wanted to use the circles in the background with the rectangle as the main image. I started with that idea and the travel theme and ended up with my card. :)

The papers are all from October Afternoon Thrift Shop. Delicious papers. Of course that didnt' stop me from stamping on some of them.

I used the Hero Arts - Friends Definition Cling, Collage Take Time, Antique Map Background and the sentiment is from the Essential Messages Clear set.

The lovely skyline is from B Line Designs called CTD031F Old Neighbors.  (Love this stamp and haven't used it enough)

Inks included Ranger Distress (Bundled Sage, Faded Jeans), Versafine Vintage Sepia, Memento Rich Cocoa.

Hope you are gearing up for a lovely weekend.  We are going to have a few people over on the 4th to celebrate and looking forward to some inky time!
