I just wanted to mention ...

... I love blurry photos. Much!

Rhododendron and logwood-madder-wool

... and I have my german blog revived some time ago.

http://fadenstein.blogspot.de/

There is more text, german
only , and other images, mostly. And I think it will remain different contents, here and there.
But for today there is the same picture.

I wish my visitors a great weekend!

memory

Evoked by the blue shades of 'black henna' (= indigo) for black hair dyeing. They seem to reflect the colours of the sea on a windy day.

when i was a child i had a very clear goal for my life. i thought the only thing that would matter for a fulfilling life, would be to find a place for living and working that lies near the sea shore, any shore, so the sea would be my first peek in the morning and my last view in the evening. whenever i would become sad i could go for a ride on my sailing boat. and i might walk at the edge of sea and land every single day, collect shells and stones and abraded flinders as much as i would be able to carry.

but life itself had other plans.
so far away now from any sea and shore. and childhood dreams.

need

I feel I need a bit cloth here for justifying the blog title. So there is a pic from cloth weaving à la Jude. And I can show you I'm doing a tad. But not very much.

cloth weaving and glue stitching
Wool is more on my focus these days. And silk thread on my wishing list. Some need of laboratory installations for steaming the natural dyes tickle my inventor mind.

Have a nice weekend!

last tulips red

a peek in the garden

time has gone very fast last month
everywhere so many things develop on the fly
I feel a bit breathless through all the quick delivery of change
and I feel be so slow

this green

Seeing a colour develop
is like a dream come true sometimes.
It was my filter cloth for a dyebath from red onion skins.

The colour comes up lovely variously and really alive.

I love greens ;o)
And the little twisted curls in my hand spun yarn.
So waywardly.
~ ahhhh ~

And next, this copper colour
was given by madder root.
In a bath with higher pH-value.

I love Ulis (nemo ignorat) workshop about dyeing with plants!

She's snared me totaly ;o)
