A day old cousin

-Dec 31st-

His name is Lukas.

I have a feeling he'll be loved just as much by these two as his big sister is :D

Last inspiration of 2011

Some of my Get Inspired pages :D

# 185- in the news
-ten years ago-

It's the first time I scrapped about this.. I still so clearly remember exactly what I was doing then...

The background was made by cutting pieces of white patterned papers and cardstock, and just layering it on.

# 186- cardboard stamp
-534 018-

The title is my grandma's phone number.
The sisters used to call each other daily :)

I cut a phone shape out of cardboard, painted it and pressed.. Once dry I faintly outlined the shape.

# 188- dictionary
-the words-

If you haven't read this man's autobiography yet, do so.
He had me hooked from the first paragraph of such beautiful language...

# 191- self-made transparencies
-Där är Niina!-

I printed out colorful flower shapes on a transparency and cut them out.

# 192- dreamland
-canIplease?-

Niina's dream chair... she wants one so very much.

I punched out a whole lot of cloud shapes and sewed on top.

Rain

-Dec 30th-

Even midnight rain can look pretty.

(I got out my 50mm lens for some playtime)

the sky..continued

-Dec 29th-

It's been a quite rainy December, although we had a little bit of snow in the beginning of the month.
I love this project :)

happy sigh

-Dec 27th-

  • The Two Towers
  • wool socks
  • blanket
  • knitting
  • red wine in a glass with poetry...

Life is good.

Reflection

-Dec 28th-
oops.. I had the wrong date on there.. I'll get the 27th up in a minute :)

Boxing day

Light and shadow

The only snow around are the berries in the snowberry bush...

But there's light and warmth inside.

Here's a little holiday bokeh for you :)

Pass it forward handmade- part 5

This little angel flew all the way to Australia to live with Jo and her family :)
The pattern is from a Danish sewing book a dear friend gave to me years ago.

Pass it forward handmade- part 4

This one was for Susie.
To be completely honest, the camera strap cover was a belated birthday gift.

The actual handmade challenge bit I mailed her way was this granny square banner I made in the spring :D

I'd love to see pics Susie!

Pass it forward handmade- part 3

I crocheted this Queen Anne's Lace scarf for my friend Monica :)
The pattern can be found here.

Way easier than it looks, I promise!
I used a variegated yarn.

mmmm....

-Dec 24th-

My Snowman teacup...
..and most importantly: TOAST!

Our toaster bit the dust about a year ago and it took us this long to find a new one we liked.
We went through a LOT of toast on Christmas Eve :D
Mine is topped with orange whisky marmalade...

Last bit of shopping

-Dec 20th-

I have done all my Christmas shopping as of this afternoon.
Under the downtown lights.

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain..

-Dec 19th-

It seems odd that it is this warm.
Last year we were knee deep in snow and freezing temps.

It's been raining for days.
So I'm sporting wool socks and rainboots.
Just days before Christmas....

Something for someone

-Dec 18th-

Someone will get a little something slightly glittery for their tree.
A cute map upcycling idea I found through Pinterest.

Ooohhh.. shiny..

-Dec 17th-

The floors are now waxed and ready for Christmas.

Sure.. this happens every time!

-Dec 16th-

Just a regular Friday at the hairdresser..

Well, in all honesty the champagne is not mine, although I have held a glass of champagne several times at this place. One of the many perks of a hairdresser's you love.

I had baked some goodies for the gals, as they are treasures, all three of them. It's a guaranteed laugh every time.
The condoms.. well there is this Irish fellow who pops in like clockwork on Fridays. So I happen to be around that huge amount of crazy energy about every six weeks.
This time he gave all the women red condoms... sigh..you know seasonally colored and all..
And after tasting what I had baked declared the need to marry me.

Us ladies had a good laugh once he left.
My brother popped by.
And I got my hair done.
All in all a great Friday :D

A test in patience

-Dec 15th-

Her advent calendar delivers just a few lego pieces a day...

It is testing her patience :)

Baking...

-Dec 14th-

I've baked chocolate cakes with gingerbread spices, candycane biscotti and coffeecakes with chocolate and cognac cranberries in them...

I nearly just ate the cranberries... ;)

I love the Lucia procession...
