Moomins ahoy!

On the morning of August 15th the girls and I hopped in the car and drove to the west coast to Naantali.
There we met up with my bro's family and headed towards the day's destination:
Moominworld.

Good morning Moominpapa!
It is indeed a gorgeous day.
The sky matches your house perfectly today :D

Julia wasn't all that sure about these big furry fellows..

Niina however was on cloud nine. She doesn't remember her previous visit here, she was only six months old at the time..

Is there a better start to a day that getting a hug from Moomintroll?
Probably not.

Hi Little My!
(she's loud that one)

Bunting..ahhh.. is it wrong to want bunting in my kitchen too?

Snorkmaiden's room..so girly.

Just like this one.
She borrowed a rose from the table.

The view from the second floor window is beautiful.

Moominpapa's little study.

There's a little hole in the wall and this is what you can see inside...

This looks just as pretty as the bunting.

Niina gets a hug from Moominmama as well.

Moomintroll has just given the world's biggest diamond he found to Snorkmaiden. When she plans to make it into a wedding ring, Moomintroll gets a serious case of cold feet and runs away.. :D

Still not sold on these...

This kills me...
(siivoa= clean it up)

At the shore.

Taking a look at the sea monster.

We then headed towards Moominpapa's ship and I forgot to take a photo of it as Julia grabbed my hand and lead me away..

Curious things...

Sliding was a big hit.

The local police station..

..and jail..

I really love how this place differs from other theme parks. It's about the nature. Everything is hidden inside the forest, no rides.. just surprises around the corner.

We love labyrinths!

Hattifattener territory..

Family photo LOL!

One more favorite: Sniff.

It was a good day.
Afterwards we walked into town and met up with local friends.
Plans were laid for a fun weekend next summer, can't wait for that :)

Even the sunset that night was wow material...

Inspiroidu #122- red, yellow and blue

-mmm..strawberries-

Three patterned papers, teo sets of alphabet stickers, corner rounder and a piece of fancy masking tape.
Easy peasy.
Really loving that sun shaped paper by Little Yellow Bicycle, it just screams summer :D
As does the cute little girl scarfing down strawberries!

Inspiroidu #121- starting point

-ah loveliness-

For the corners I just piled clear swirly stickers (old ones by Heidi Swapp) on and on and on...
Ended up using the entire sheet :)

Saara's confirmation party

It's a big deal.
Bigger than Saara had realized.
She was asking me why I was making such a fuss.. :)

This is our local church.

Quite unusual, no?
There's some family history here. My grandfather was the contractor who built this.
Sadly he was the first person who's funeral was held there shortly after the church was finished...

My grandmother was upset when my confirmation happened at another church and I know she tried to change my mind about our wedding church, LOL!
But I hope I've made something up by making her house my own and redeeming myself completely by Saara being confirmed here.

This is my favorite part of the building, the tall window on each wall.

Inside.. I love the tiffany glass altar wall.

August 7th was hot.
Steaming hot.
It was excruciatingly hot inside the church.
That's Saara , 5th from the left :)

I know this is blurry, but I love it.
She had just finished her solo in Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.

I want to know what her prist said, her expression is lovely!

A few official portraits snapped behind the church.

Plus one out-take.

Our party was spread out in the garden.

Swarms of bees.. after all our sweet stuff..

The party had a loose Alice in Wonderland Tea party theme..

That's my Dad standing.

Hint: Always measure the lighting on the white bit...hehehee..

It was a good day.
That is one amazing daughter I have.
I'll leave you with two self portraits she took that morning before heading to church.
