Cold partly sunny day

The sun was lovely this morning.. sitting inside on the couch makes you forget how chilly it is outside ;)
It's also very quiet as the girls have been at my dad's since Monday.

There's only one teensy little problem with the sun...
Shows just how dirty my windows are.
I'll just have to let that thought go, as it is too cold to wash them, heh.

The tulips look pretty in the sun too.

Today I carried Mary's house upstairs and brought this one down.
It is a shopping center no more.
Downstairs will house the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes shop and the two upper levels will be Esther's home. She's a witch.

I'll need to make stairs for a side entrance, but as for stairs inside.. well.. Esther prefers to apparate rather than climb stairs.

The pink wallpapers HAVE TO GO.

I'm hoping this change will motivate me to finish the house this year. As it had been standing in limbo for a long while.

Guess what?
I'm 40 today :D

I've decided to pass all midlife crisis and enjoy it all.

I got a really great present today too...
Wanna see?

Oh yeah... the 50D!
I'm off to play.

It's a blob..

..it's a pile of snow...

...it's an igloo!

The girls have worked on this for a quite a while and it was finished yesterday when Saara with her best friend got the roof up.
Pretty cool.
Pun intended :D
And if you feel like going skating, feel free to do that on my walkway...

Sheer deathly slippery ice.
I'll have hot chocolate waiting for you if you ever get through.... heh.

This week

A magical wool needlefelted egg appeared.

It's quite big, 13cm long (that's about 5 inches).
Underneath the wool is a styrofoam egg.

The needle used for this has little rough spots on it, you just make them out in the photo.

Needlefelting a styrofoam egg couldn't be easier.
Put on a thin layer of wool and jab away.
This was finished in less than an hour :)

At my night school class :)
This is when the fun starts... we get to learn all cool skills and ideas to use with the kids.

I'm taking part in a miniature birthday swap again this year.
Packages have been arriving already and I'm being good.
Haven't peeked in.
Not until the 18th...

I will not peek, I will not peek, I will not peek..

However this birthday present I did open.

The sweet idea factory arrived.
A present to myself.
I love it.
The bonus.. it actually moves!

We've had more snow again.
This is what happens when you forget to store the watering can...

I have to go to the grocery store next, put in a load of laundry, do my exercise, make dinner and then perhaps settle in for a evening of making miniature food from polymer clay.
Aahh.. but that means I have to cut my nails first.. ugh...
Oh well..
There's one random fact for you: I hate cutting my nails. Not that I like them long, just the task itself is sooooo tedious...
Tawny, if you are reading, you are in my thoughts daily.
Email me.

I've been wondering if I should start categorizing my posts?
You know like everyday life, birthdays, scrappiness, flickr, minis, blah blah blah, photos etc...

What do you think?

Apassionata

I had heard about this horse filled show, but had never seen it. It tours Europe yearly.
My sister-in-law Petra asked if the girls and I would come along, so glad I answered yes.
I left very impressed.
Besides, horses are such gallant creatures.

When I was digging out my camera from my purse, a security lady was going around telling people that no flash photography was allowed. She walks to me and asks:
Is that a camera?

---

Shall we take a look at what was in my hand?

Seriously did not know what to say... so many thoughts were going through my head.. like.. is she serious? What does she think this is? A nail file? My phone?
Duh.

Eventually I said yes and promised to keep my flash off.
Petra was holding back the giggles...

I'm warning you this is one photo filled post. So much to look at and admire.
I give you:
horses and their talented riders.

..and some cool artictic shots of the sand and lights...

..and fire...

...and a search for the perfect photo of a shadow...

I have never seen a horse jump straight up by kicking his front and back legs out at the same time..

Sweet little foals.. awwww... the grey one was so sweet.

Hard to photograph in the dark, they had sparklers on the horses legs.

Fast icelandic horses.

And some cowboy action :)

The Shetland pony was probably smaller than Petra's dog..hehee...

The Frisian horses were beautiful..

...more lights and sand...

oh yes.. he went under the belly of a galloping horse!

I'm sold.
We will be going again next year.
