January, plus a give away!

January brought the long awaited snow.

Oh how I love reflections...
However I am not a fan of that greenish hue the LED lights in the tree...

I went to see an endless sea of dots at Yayoi Kusama's In Infinity exhibit.
Beyond amazing.
If you ever have a chance to see an exhibit, go!

I also placed my dot in the Obliteration Room.
I think my favorite moment was when I was waiting to get into one of the mirrored rooms. This lady went by quickly glancing at the works on the wall. Her small daughter abruptly stops in front of the one with a green tunic on a hanger. The mom ties to get her to move, but the girl is transfixed... "Mom! It's made from macaroni!!"
I hope she went home and started gluing macaroni to paper :)

I started knitting Saara a pair of socks from the unicorn pastel yarn she chose.

Tulips are my therapy.

Dear friends, anyone in need of a pretty scarf?
This could be yours...
Give me a really good reason and I'll choose the one that tickles my funny bone most :)

December

Catching up..still :)
Here goes December:

I attended a small miniature fair in an old villa by the sea.
We kept it classy.

We got to set up our tables in the most glorious light.

The upstairs of Villa Rulludd is a museum. Worth a visit, if you are going by.

Yes, I have a dirty mind.
These stickers came from a kids' magazine...
I lost it.

I love the December dark, you can see all the lights so much better.

I made orange, vanilla and rosemary marmalade for my colleagues.

I bought pretty red shoes, clicked my heels three times and wished for snow.
No luck.

With the sugar high from my favorite marmalades, we decorated the tree and I made very last minute Christmas cards.

Killer dessert...
A tiramisu version of this cake (recipe in English) I made for Niina's confirmation.

The lights downtown were pretty even in the rain.

A little reminder for myself to slow down and enjoy it.

The flowers were white.
And frilly.

Rogue One.was.amazing.
I feel it's the best Star Wars movie out there.

Book launch

I celebrated my book launch with sparkling wine and cake.
And lots of dear friends.

My talented friend made an amazing cake (chocolate with raspberry mousse and Bailey's mascarpone fillings) decorated with items I have tutorials for in the book made from sugar paste.

The box that was supposed to be filled with my books was mostly filled with baby books.. hmmm...
Luckily the right books arrived after a phone call.

It wasn't just pretty on the outside.. it was delicious too.

There was also a mini party going on. I didn't have time to take photos, but you can see some here.

I really like this photo my friend Nina took.
I signed quite a few books :)

I have to hand it to my colleague who gave me some miniatures. Even if they weren't quite 1:12th scale.
*grin*

I am very proud of this book.
And ridiculously happy that it is out there making other miniaturists happy.

November

 Quick look through my November:

I drooled over this dress.. I walked past that window a few times.. sadly it was too pricey.
...sigh...

Halloween gingerbread cookies, mulled wine and glittery slippers at my hairdresser's.

This time of year extinguishes all color.
It's all blueish grey.

The kids made a pom pom wreath for our Club door at work.

I love snow.. it makes the world so much prettier.

Christmas (or any) shopping with Saara always ends up at the make-up stalls.

My name is Susanna and I am a serial sock knitter..
I like the northern lights vibe in these.

Yay, bokeh time!

Both flowers are direct descendants of plants my grandmother had. They've never bloomed at the same time before.

There was time spent in Stars Hollow.
With wine.

Our dollhouse club meetings are equally as much about crafting as they are about food :)
It is quite acceptable to come and just eat and chat.

I spent two afternoons on a high ladder at work making an alternative Christmas tree.
