It's Tori Tuesday!
Want some lingerie designed by Tori?
Now you, too, can have this lovely corset designed by Tori Amos herself, for a mere $459. (The highest bid so far) Of course its just a 34B, and some of us are much more voluptuous than that, aren't we?
As reported at Everythingtori.com, Tori has once again designed and created a corset for the 3rd Annual Frederick's of Hollywood Lingerie Auction. (She did it last year as well!) The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance. To bid, go to fredericks.com.
The auction ends on November 4, 2005. You can read a press release about this at biz.yahoo.com.

Spooooky Stuff Portrait Friday!
This weeks assignment: Your spooky decorations, costumes, and spooky neighborhood. Happy Halloween SPF to you!
I dont decorate my house for holidays!
But, here's a really cool spider web that Mrs. Spider left outside my back door!
I decided to post a spoooky Halloween picture from the past, since we haven't yet worn our new costumes yet. My gf's and I dressed as tacky housewives! I'm the short one in the middle. (the little devil is Hannah at 6)
I dont live in a neighborhood, so here's my spooky orchard...funny thing is, normally at this time of year, all the leaves have dropped off and the trees look really scary! This has been the wierdest year for weather, hasn't it?

It's Still October...Breast Cancer Awareness Month
"Whoever thought up the word "Mammogram"? Every time I hear it, I think I'm supposed to put my breast in an envelope and send it to someone. "-- Jan King
PREPARING FOR YOUR MAMMOGRAM
Best of all, you can do these simple exercises right in your home!
EXERCISE ONE Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast in door. Shut as hard as possible and lean on the door for good measure. Hold that position for five seconds. Repeat again in case the first time wasn't effective enough.
EXERCISE TWO Visit your garage at 3 AM when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Take off all your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat with the other breast.
EXERCISE THREE Freeze two metal bookends over night. Strip to the waist. Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts. Smash the bookends together as hard as you can. Set up an appointment with the stranger to meet next year and do it again.
YOU ARE NOW TOTALLY PREPARED!

Tori Tuesday!
Tori and Anthony? Oh my gosh!
Today on Tori Tuesday I present some good rock gossip!!!
Anthony Kiedis is the lead vocalist for the band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, whose mixture of funk, punk and rock encouraged a legion of other bands to regurgitate the formula. Apparently, there are many rumors surrounding Tori and Anthony. One rumor is that Tori's song, Cloud On My Tongue, is directly about Anthony. The actual facts are as follows: According to Tori in an interview, Anthony came up to her after a concert and said he was a fan of her music and other things which she was too embarrassed to reveal. She went on to say that Anthony is a person you could run away with but that she would never be anyone's habit, so it would never happen. (Download the interview clip) Aside from that, Tori has also mentioned in-concert as an introduction to the song, Cloud On My Tongue that it was about a man who asked her to run away to Borneo with him. However, Tori also mentions "it's not who you think". However, fans have reported hearing her singing the original lyrics "thought I was over the bridge now" as "thought I was under the bridge now". Under The Bridge is the title of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song. Also, the song itself makes reference to a man with tattoos and to Borneo. It is a known fact that Anthony spent time in the jungles of Borneo, among other exotic locations around the world. His journal can be read in the book "De Grote Borneo Expeditie" by Henk Schiffmacher. Anthony also has many tattoos. And finally, many fans also suspect that the cover of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' album, One Hot Minute, featuring a cartoon drawing of a red-haired girl playing a piano with a faerie sitting on it is a nod to Tori.
"The funniest - the most embarrassing thing was Anthony Kiedis from the Chili Peppers came up to me and said 'Hi, I really like your music' and...oh I can't tell you what he said next! But I said, 'What's your name?' (laughs) And I felt so - it wasn't because I'm not a fan of the music it's just that he had the most interesting get up. I didn't know it was a human being. He had this aviator cap on and this whole get up and I didn't realize who it was. And when I found out...I had read an article he had written in Details on the plane a month before I met him and it said - now I'm telling you something you can't like tell him because it'd be very embarrassing - but he said what he would do -- how much he loved women and how he would, um, romance a woman. And with so many men in the business being god knows what. You don't know if they're into dinosaurs or what they're into these days. It was just a real - all the - all the, uh, women I was with were completely just blushing, and we're, you know...so when I met him and I found out who it was, all i could think about was 'I feel like I'm 13 years old. I have to leave because...' Um, I should just shut my mouth! I'm sorry, but it was an interesting embarrassing moment because, you know, it's hard not to like Anthony. Anthony is just somebody that -- let's be honest about it -- he's just somebody that you could run away with. He's that kind of person. But, you know, he'd run away with 10 million women, and I'm not a habit. I'm a lifestyle. I will not be a habit for a man ever so...it can never happen." -- Tori; Interview (Download)
"So I'm gonna tell you this little story and yanno, I know, you need to keep it between us, okay? Just say 'yeah'. (audience cheers 'yeah') So this guy, a few years ago, mentioning absolutely no names, and it's not the obvious, so you'll get it wrong. 199...early 1990 something. I'm doing a show, right? And, umm, in umm...the South Pacific, somewhere. And he waltzes in, right? Very, very, very quite attractive young man. My husband knows all of the groovy details. So he waltzes in, and goes...'Hi. I flew in from Borneo, just to see you.' And I said, 'What are y--..yeah?...And here I am, and I'm going on stage. See ya.' And he goes, 'Wait a minute...wait a minute. I want you to go away with me for four days.' And I said, 'Your timing is very poor, young lad, because my boyfriend is in the other room, who is also taking me away for four days.' And I must say something, girls..the word 'cloning' really did come into mind."-- Tori; in-concert, intro to Cloud On My Tongue
Woo hoo!
ME ME MONDAY!
I lived on Kodiak Island for three years when I was in elementary school.
Kodiak Island is famous for huge Kodiak brown bears, world-class sport fishing, one of the largest commercial fishing ports in the nation, and the magnificent green that the island turns during the summer--which is why Kodiak is affectionately called Alaska's Emerald Isle.
Alaska king crab fishing is considered to be one of the most dangerous jobs in North America. Every year, hundreds of fearless crab fishermen endure extreme weather conditions and harsh work environments with assertive hopes of catching excessive amounts of the most desirable seafood in the world- King crab! Bristol Bay is the primary area where crab fishing occurs, with the small town of Dutch Harbor being the main hub of activity. King crab is also caught in Norton Sound, around the Pribilof Islands, along the Aleutian Chain, and a small amount off the coast of Alaska's southern pan-handle.

Happy Birthday Little Rita!!!/Favorite Picture of the Weekend
She's a girl
Rising from a shell
Running to spring
It is her time
it is her time
Watch her run with ribbons undone
She's a rose in a lily's cloak
She can hide her charms
It is her right
there will be time
To chase the sun with ribbons undone
She runs like a fire does
Just picking up daises
Comes in for a landing
A pure flash of lightening
Past alice blue blossoms
You follow her laughter
And then she'll surprise you
Arms filled with lavender
Yes my little pony is growing up fast
She corrects me and says
"You mean a thoroughbred"
A look in her eyes says the battle's beginning
From school she comes home and cries
I don't want to grow up Mom
at least not tonight
You're a girl
Rising from a shell
Running through spring
With summer's hand in reach now
It is your time
It is your time
So just run with ribbons undone
It is your time yes my angel
It is your time
So just run with ribbons undone
Run run darlin'
Ribbons undone

Tori Tuesday on Wednesday!
I think I'm going to make Tuesday a Tori day on this blog..but suddenly, it's Wednesday...so this week it's Tori Tuesday on Wednesday.....chew on this:
Another Girl's Paradise
You caught me lingering in another girl's paradise,
The way she paints the world-
I want that in my life.
Emeralds, you should know,
are renting in her meadow.
With a stroke beauty lives,
How could I resist, you are Desire.
When it all is said, said and done,
Who can love you and still be standing.
There's Mary calling up a storm.
Can I take from you and not keep taking?
Naked as day Gemma follows him.
Does it all come down to,
The thing one girl fears in the night
Is another girl's paradise?
Through twists and turns,
Jasmine foxed me in her grove.
Arms filled with honey-bells,
St. Michael's Sanford Bloods.
"You have come to discover what you want,
"What I want is not to want what isn't mine."
"But I am Desire."
When it all is said, said and done,
Who can love you and still be standing.
There's Mary calling up a storm.
Can I take from you and not keep taking?
Naked as day Gemma follows him.
Does it all come down to,
The thing one girl fears in the night,
Is another girl's paradise?
and I know you keep telling me.
does it all come down to,
The thing one girl fears in the night...
Is another girl,
is another girl,
is another girl's paradise.

People Come In All Shapes and Sizes
Sometimes I work for a woman that owns a large size clothing company. The clothes she makes are elegant, stylish, expensive, and very, very large!
This skirt is made with embroidered and beaded silk. I had to remove about 1,000 beads in order to prevent sewing over them. Still, I broke 7 needles!
This might seem a little mean, i'm not trying to be mean, I just wanted to show my 4 readers what I was working on all day yesterday.....(actually, we had room for one more person in there, but we needed her to take the picture for us).
Speaking of sizes...note the height difference between Mr Ratburn and I!

Rio Poses for Bucky
I know you have your sights set on Ariella, but, she's already taken. I'm sure if you choose me, you won't be disappointed. I like to run free in my apple orchard, eat watermelon and pick grapes and blackberries. I keep my family safe by barking at strange cars, people, birds, deer, squirrels, and airplane vapor trails. Sometimes I even bark at the moon!
Being a mostly white dog has it's advantages! In the springtime, I like to roll around in fresh cut grass so I turn completely green! It's fun! My owners like to smear blackberries on my head too.
I look really good in purple!
Choose me, Bucky, choose me!
Me Me Me Mondays!
The pinky toe on my right foot is not attached quite right
I can bend it all the way out to the side
How did this happen? About 6 years ago, I broke my left leg (that's another story), and had a cast and crutches. One day, as I was hobbling around my really small house, I caught my right pinky toe on the leg of my bed, and I heard this ccccrrrracccckking sound! After I finished rolling around on the floor in agony, I examined this toe and noticed that it was pretty much broken. I spent the next three weeks with a cast on my left leg, and a black and blue pinky toe on the right...I felt like such a klutz! Apparently, this toe never healed quite right. What do you think?

Favorite Picture of the Weekend....
I dont have time to blog on the weekends. I have my family around, and on Sundays, I have my textile bazaar thingy.....so I thought that for weekends, I would just post one of my favorite pictures, or art or whatever. This is a picture that I took in Bangalore of some construction workers. Notice how the woman in the blue sari has that attitude. She was just lovely, I wanted to steal her away from there and take her to a modeling agency! (If you click on the pic, you can get the jumbo version of the picture!) Have a good weekened everyone!

Stuff Portrait Friday!
This weeks assignment was to post the best pic you've ever taken of someone or something, the best picture of yourself and why you think it is, and a favorite picture that someone else took, painted or doodled. I chose two of each! Happy SPF!
Here is the best picture that I have ever taken of my daughter, while posing in a really cool kids park in Berkeley Marina! Doesn't she look lovely? I had this blown up into an 18 x 20, and have it on a yellow wall that matches the daisies! (We won't talk about the allergy attack that happened after romping around in this little patch!)
This is my favorite picture of Rio, my fruit eating dog! She eats blackberries and grapes right off the vines! What a silly dog! You might notice her unbreakable dog tie out cable...Rio also likes to eat small animals and sometimes even children! (J/K about the children)
I chose this photo because, while I look like crap, I think it is an awesome picture of this saucy Indian lady and her mom, looking on. She insisted on pulling my hair back into a tight ponytail to fasten the jasmine as all proper Indian women do. She reminded me of my mom, the way she yanked and tugged at my hair! Just look at that expression, while her mom has this, "that sassy daughter of mine, there she goes again" look! I was laughing so hard! Hard to believe, but this photo was taken in Mysore, just the day before the one below. What a difference a day makes!
You know, I just felt too cute this day, with Indian jasmine in my hair! It was a lovely December morning in Mysore, India.....I was on my way to the palace with a fellow traveler when this shot was taken. As you can see, I'm just too rosy and shiny for my own good, and I am wearing the jasmine the way I want to!
I love this picture that my daughter drew! It's about 3 feet square, and it's on the closet door in her bedroom. It so captures the happiness that dancing brings to her life! Go, Hannah, go!
This is a picture of Tori that was sketched by a friend of mine in UK.
Her little sister asked her to draw a picture of Tori, and so she whipped this one right out!
We all loved the simplicity of it, and with the help of Cafe Press, we all got tshirts with this art on it! To us, it just captured Tori's piano attack perfectly! Notice the drool, which Tori often does while playing. I just love this!
Happy Stuff Portrait Friday!
