Jesus Loves Me

Oh, this little girl! She is trouble one second and a sweet little angel the next. I don't remember what it was, but she had just done something onery right before she got in the bath. Then she belts out the sweetest song. I wish I had recorded more. Notice she stops and says "cheese" for me at the end.
(going to try posting it from my phone....not sure if it will work...)

Sydney

(I'm back!  Or at least I'm going to try.  Once I fall behind in my blogging, I feel like I can't go on unless I go back and continue from where I last left off.  Then that becomes too overwhelming and I just give up.  Going to try and overcome my OCD and skip over the last 4 months.  Back to my post....)

....aka Little Monster, Tornado.....TROUBLE.  I've had a lot of people tell me lately that I need to make sure to record all of the things she does, and maybe even write a book.  I'll start here.  I'm going to start with today and go back as far as I can (at least for now).

4/4/12  Climbed up on Isa's (loft) bed three separate times.  And drew on her feet with markers that were on Isa's bed....three separate times.  Played with dog poop (EEWW!!).  Marcus was working on little projects in the backyard and Syd found the pooper scooper Marcus had just used to pick up dog poop.  I'm just thankful she didn't put it in her mouth!!!  Broke Marcus' glasses.  He said she even said, "Uh oh" after it happened.  And of course, she danced on the counters/table a few times.....but that's not such a big deal anymore. :)

4/3/12  Climbed up on Isa's bed for the first time.  We knew this was bound to happen!  Pushed a chair from the kitchen table over to the counter, climbed up, then "hid" behind the cabinet door.  I was right there in the living room and turned around after I heard the other 2 kids scream.  This was a new one.  Many times I heard Isa say, "Sydney?.....SYDNEY! Sydney Lee!!  NO!!" and then I'd hear Syd scream.  It's pretty predictable by now.

4/2/12 Climbed up on the kitchen counter and spilled Cade's cup of water all over.  I take off her clothes, go to get a towel, and come back to find her naked and up on the chair, singing and dancing in the puddle of water she just made.  I get her down and clean up the water and hear Isa scream.  Go into Isa's room and find Syd up on Isa's shelf, still naked, and dancing with a stuffed animal.  Of course she stopped to say, "Cheese!" when I took her picture.

3/22/12 I now push the huge shopping cart in Target- the one that has an extra two seats for kids.  I use it because I can actually strap Sydney down in it and she (somewhat) can't get out.  Cade likes to sit in the seat next to her.  After a little bit of shopping, I'd used up all of the snacks in my purse and had nothing else to entertain her, so I handed Cade and Syd each a bag of M&Ms I planned to purchase.  She liked shaking it and making noise, and at first it was a great distraction.  A couple minutes later I notice she's unusually quiet, only to look over and see the bag in her mouth.  She had chewed through the bag and was eating M&Ms (and plastic).

3/20/12 Sydney squeezed herself between the wall and Cade's small recliner.  She was somewhat stuck there, and Isa says, "Just leave her!  She can't get into any trouble there!"  After I giggled (mostly, honestly, because I was thinking the exact same thing!), Isa said, "....and we'll even feed her right there."

3/19/12 I gave some of my old makeup to Isa to use for dress up.  Syd knows right where it is, and given the chance, will get into it.  Marcus and I were having  nice uninterrupted conversation (this should have been a warning sign!) in the kitchen when in walks Sydney with lipstick all over her face.  She had found a palette of lipsticks and a blush brush and was rubbing the brush in the lipstick and brushing it all over her cheeks.  Obviously she pays attention, because she knew exactly what to do with that brush!

3/7/12  This one's not funny.  Sydney touched our fireplace and burned her hand.  The crazy thing was, she didn't even cry.  She fussed a little, but mostly because Marcus made her get away from the fireplace when he saw her near it. When I got home from work that afternoon, I noticed she had a huge blister on her hand.  Turns out she had a second degree burn.....and she didn't even cry!  I took her to the doctor to get it all cleaned up and she held so still while the doctor checked it out.  The only time she fussed was when I wouldn't let her take the bandage off!

3/4/12  Marcus was unloading groceries and I was hanging up clothes in the girls' room when in walked Sydney, sucking on an ice cube.  Neither of us had any idea how/where she got it from, so we just kind of shrugged it off (we've learned to do this with a lot of things with Sydney).  Then he caught her in action.  She pushed her (doll) baby stroller over to the fridge, stood on it, and reached up and helped herself to some ice.  She learned her lesson when she accidently pressed the water instead and it sprayed her in the face and she got soaked! :)  Of course she's done this a few times since....

2/28/12 I had just taken off her diaper, and she was supposed to be on her way to the bath.  I went in to check on the other kids and came back to Sydney shaking salt all over in the kitchen!  While I was cleaning it up she ran over and sat in Marcus' recliner.....and then peed in it.

Love our Little Monkey!!!!
