remember friendster?

Oh my goodness I just laughed so hard watching this video! This is absolutely ridiculous and hilarious!

Does anyone still remember good ol' Friendster? At all?

Poor friendster who got K.O-ed completely by Facebook.

It's the holidays! And what a holiday it is, with absolutely nothing on our hands. Like seriously nothin' kinda nothing.

Started reading again recently (: Feels good, considering I haven't read in ages. Reading like leisure reading (:

Currently workin' on (hahaha why am I speakin' gangsta talk) David Crystal's "Txtng- The Gr8 Db8".

It's been an extremely insightful read so far. Am impressed. It speaks of the evolution of social norms and of plain English, as brought about by technology changes and well, texting.

The title's really cool right (:

Hahaha books that work for me are mostly those with cool titles and nice covers. I think book covers are important. It's quite sad how some good books have not-so-good covers. Oh but on the other hand, sometimes book covers are really nice and pretty and make you pick it up... only to find that it's but a weh-weh book.

Er am I making sense?

Anyways, I'm currently at Chapter 4 of the book. A section of the book I read today jumped out really loudly.

And I quote, "(Mobile phones) have also created new disciplines and power-geometries, the need to be continuously available to friends and lovers, and the need to always carry a functioning mobile device."

"Text messaging seems to have increased our expectancy that we are mutually accessible."

How true, and how sad! Handphones have changed the world so much. Too much, perhaps. I think people get quite annoyed when they text me, (hahaha so American- texting), 'cos I usually don't reply. In the book, it says it's quite rude apparently, 'cos you leave the other party wondering if the message reached you, or if it was left drifting in cyberspace due to technical issues, another possibility's that the content/tone of the message was inappropriate... So on so forth.

Of which I wish I could go on to analyse why I don't reply messages.. But The Mentalist is showing in 6 minutes and I am going to dash out into the living room and eat 汤圆 (Happy 冬季, everyone!)

Will come back and add on to this post later, if 'm still in the mood! :D

photobooth madness!

Went over to Cel's last week to play + swim! After lunch and an exciting round of pool (like seriously exciting, with balls flying out of the table and all :D) we went back to Cel's and started playing around with the Macbook. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee we had quite a whale of a time (:

I miss those good ol' days when four of us were sitting together at the back of the class (:

It'll be like Evelyn on the left, crossing her legs on the chair (of which I picked up the habit) and eating her pens, plucking her lashes and destroying random rulers and papers...

Then I'll be beside her, trying very hard to keep up with the Math lesson and trying very hard to write nice, neat notes (because Tabitha was on my right), I'd be telling The Evil Teddy to stop chewing her pens, of which she'll continue to chew upon...

Then Tab'll be quietly writing in her mind-blowing-ly neat (yet awfully slow) handwriting, she'll always patiently explain Math and Science stuff when I don't understand (vice-versa for Chinese lessons, when I'd become her interpreter, kinda.)...

Then Celine, who was kinda far away so I couldn't really see what she was doing all the time. Absorbing all the information into her spongy, smart brain, I suppose (:

And it was quite funny whenever we came across difficult questions and stuff, like the question will get passed down the row, then the different levels of smartness will attempt to solve the puzzle. Of which yah lah, I was the smart one. (Levels ranged from smart to smartest.)

And I almost miss all the suan-ing! Evelyn will always break into the stupid "There's a ghost in the toilet" tune. (It's the only time we ever get to hear her sing.) Tab and Cel will always join in. And they'll shout really loudly at the end, "There's a ghost! :D" - -"

Tab'll always be singing. Like nice music-y stuff (: Her choir songs, random songs... And I will never forget how we tried to RAP out "At the Beginning". EPIC. Like RAP. Yo yo check it out kind.

Oh and I tell you the thing I miss most. THE FOUR OF US BEING THE SAME HEIGHT :D Sian, now I'm the shortest. Evelyn's grown a lot since Sec 2 - -" She's now some cool, quite-tall-not-really senior-ish senior heeee. (Evelyn I know you're reading this.) Then Celine's grown also. (: Okay Tab thinks she hasn't grown much. But er I think I haven't grown at all. Sigh. Hahahaha but okay we were once the same height. 8)

Ohman I think we've all grown (not height-wise) quite a bit since then (: Actually we don't really talk much/catch up in school. Not really. It's kinda sad, but hee never mind la (: And then our classrooms are all like on the 1st (Evelyn), 2nd (Tab) and 3rd (Cel & I) floor. Still, there's the occasional keep in touch! Which is really nice (:

Hmmm so yeah that's about it (: I think the bunch of us have had a lot a lot a lot of fun and laughter together and it's quite cool because when we meet up it's simply to go to someone's house to play. Like play (: Primary school kinda play- beading (I cannot bead for NUTS), Playstation (cannot DDR for NUTS), GuitarHero (cannot play for NUTS)... And do random stuff like hit billiard balls out of the table. (Evelyn.) (Is it called Billiards or Pool?!!) Aiyah it's just really fun to be around the three of them (: Actually I think we're seriously very very different, but.. I like us :D Heeeeeeee. We may or may not still keep up with each other and go out together in JC, but whatever it is, (hopefully we will lah) (Tab must initiate) Thank you TabCelEvil (:
