title?

random thoughts have popped up by and by these few days. as in bloggable thoughts. they're mostly one-liners, though; am tempted to start a twitter!

so anyways it's the holidays!! life's been kinda bum-sy, 'cept for volunteering work at AWWA and at children's camp in church. i feel awfully out of touch with guides and this feeling is absolutely awful. ): no ATC to stress over, to feel nervous about, to prepare for, to rush for, to bubble over with excitement about, to look forward too.. hope the juniors are doing well! soak in every bit of the experience and learn as much as you can. when the going gets tough, I quote Tim Gunn, "Make it work." :)

on a sidenote, googled and found out that Irina's this season's winner for Project Runway. hmmm mixed feelings; she's reeeeeeally talented, but kinda proud and judgemental? ah well.

i heart american reality TV.

oh, ah! am getting hooked onto The Mentalist; it's mad exciting and cool and nice to watch aah :) (sorry for weird vocab.) Channel 5, Monday nights at 10pm! watch watch watch! am giving up on Flash Forward; waiting for the whole fiasco to end then google and find out what exactly happened. reckon it might be disappointing though. hmmm.

ok ending this soon.

need to make the most out of this holiday!! doubt a break like this will come by soon once school starts and things get chugging along. i still feel tired even though i sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep. :( and the plan to exercise/tone up/run run run run run hasn't worked. yet. need to burn off the 5kg Exam Kilos! i... think i ate a tad much during the EOY period. 5 kilos~ - -" ooh or maybe i can try growing taller 8) haha!

so... family went to the SITEX IT fair yesterday. before i go on... i need to declare that i will never step foot into fairs of similar scales ever again. ever. unless there is an absence of 1) huge crowds that push/elbow/shove you, 2) huge crowds that push/elbow/shove you, and 3) huge crowds that push/elbow/shove you.

it was like the entire country's population was there! madness. dang scary i am still deeply traumatised.

but anyways.. XIAOEN GOT A.......
*drumroll please!*
MACBOOK PRO!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaah haha :D

thank you father+mother+grandmother!! ($$) eeeeee :D now i will proceed to join the people with the Apple Superiority Syndrome. Adios, Windows! hahahahaha! :)

haven't taken it out of the box though! can't bear to. will get about opening the box and set things up some day soon when time forbids and spend the whole day to read the instruction manual. ee hopefully i can get the hang of the new interface. (ling, will figure things out then teach you how to put your macbook to better use k!)

ahahaha :D ok am running out of things to say.

oh oh oh! went to Ion Orchard today! eee the place so big!! madness. O: oh and we bought Lego bricks for the We are One Singapore thing :) on a sidenote, isn't it cool how the company blog URL says weareo-n-e too :) indeed, in so many more ways, we are one.

oh and and and! aah i l-o-v-e all things basic and inspiring. *drifts off into imaginary world* basic as in, MUJI kinda basic. you get what i mean? once you step into these kinda shops/places, you'd feel this vibe and cool air 8) love it how creative yet practical the designs are. even the simplest brown cardboard box/file/notebook looks breathtaking. the bags and pencil cases too... *swoons* oh and has anyone seen MUJI's christmas merchandise!

i declare my love for Apple, Muji, Ikea, Daiso, and all things basic and inspiring. you, are sheer genius. sheer genius. i wanna be a sheer genius too 8) dream house in the future will be stocked up with loads and loads of art supplies (to make presents and give to all mankind) and the house will be cooly furnished and nicely decorated. :) aah.

ok done for now. i promise promise promise a reflective/reflection post is coming soon.

haha i think this post sounds quite bimbotic.

peace out.

xiaoen is (a) sad (girl).

Today, this little P4 girl at my church children’s camp came up to me and said (genuinely and real sweetly),

“Excuse me, are you a girl or boy?”

run run run run run!

Aiyah dang. Wanted to post ytd, but my phone suddenly died.
Okay just pretend it's yesterday k.

Went to the airport to welcome Xinyun and Sarah back from The Philippines! (Yes their country really has a 'The' in its name!) Changi Airport makes me very proud to be a Singaporean. So does Singapore Airlines!

Rushed out sarah's card with chin and ling, then we bought the un-cute cupcake with the funny candle! We had different opinions along the way, and sarah wasn't around to make decisions - -" Hahahahaha (:

Anyways yes Happy, happy birthday, Sarah! <3

Thank you for everything (and I really mean everything!) the past four years. You are an incredible human being and I strive to attain your neatness and time management. (Aiyah a bit impossible, but still.) Man, thanks for being such an amazing friend and CL; you're always so happy and dependable and polite! And calm! Especially when Chinwen's all panicky, your words are very assuring. (:

Rahhhhhhh (no not calling you) I don't know what to say, but you're very much loved and thank you for all the good and stressful times we've had together, the happy moments, the 'uh-oh-we-screwed-up' ones, all the "it's okay, can one!", the trips to your house, the laughter, the tears (not really right? okay during farewell, yes.), and for the phone call in Dec'08 when you told me that yall were not coming for the musical. ): (HAHAHAH WILL REMEMBER THAT FOR LIFE OKAY.)

The thing is, you don't know how awesome a person you are, you know! Have confidence in yourself and don't keep brooding over past boo-boos k. (Shucks i don't know why im talking like that but i think you get it.) Have a fantastic 16th birthday (pretend like you're reading this on your birthday!!!) and stay happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! :D Love (:

Some photos. Sunbeamm hasn't had photos for a long time. Hope this works!!

~

Okay crap, it doesn't.
12am, Xiaoen is cultivating a healthy habit of sleeping early. Photos... when it works. I will find a way to conquer techology.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (:

OK BYEBYE (:

an attempt to pen down some thoughts before they leave me.

So... Er hello (:

GAH sunbeamm is getting very boring I sincerely apologise for the lack of updates and photos. will get about to revamp stuff as soon as I lay hands on the new laptop.. which will hopefully be a mac. Hah! :D

I feel very tech-crippled right now because, as the earlier post mentioned, technology has been failing me... and um, I just lost my digital camera. Which er contains all the photos from Farewell'09. Sigh.

Kind souls, if you see a Sony Cybershot Compact somewhere around... It's white and is kept in a lime green casing (that isn't very lime green anymore 'cos it's very dirty - -") and there's a memory stick in the casing as well. PLEASE RETURN IT TO ME ):

Shucks man I get this feeling I won't have as much luck as the hard disk. (thanks Tania, again!) Anyways, the camera was last seen.. in the backstage of the hall? I remember rushing backstage after level closure and dumping my handphone, script and camera on a random table.

AAAAAAAH ):

Never mind. I am very bored. And am losing interest in the Internet.

Anyways, as the title goes.. Here's an attempt to pen down some thoughts before they leave me.

The past four years in Nanyang has been good. Pretty eventful, I must say. Friends have come and gone, time has passed and faded away. Like Michael Jackson's signature, indeed, all is Gone Too Soon.

In the past four years, we've all struggled to forge some kind of identity. We came into Secondary School in NY thinking we were pretty matured kids. Well at least I did. P6 days seem kinda fuzzy and far away.. But bits and pieces still remain. It was difficult, honestly, to start from the bottom of the ladder again in Sec 1. Because you'd think that you're quite good with all the experience you've garnered. We were wrong. Because the past four years have taught me so much. And as we stand here, thinking and feeling like we know a lot.. I doubt I'll feel the same way four years down the road.

Still, heck about what lies ahead. Bask in this freeze frame as we all try to recount, clumsy it may be, the good days we've had. It's strange and funny that I have, fortunately or unfortunately, established some sorta comedic image with the rest of the school in this last year as a Sec 4. Barbarella, Prince.. ?!

On a sidenote, can I please add that none of the script for Prince's act came from me. I promise. None. Of. It.
Except the Miss Kiap one. "From Butterfly Park Primary School, please welcome.... MISS KIAP! *do exaggerated butterfly flapping action*" Only that one.
Tan Yan Ni has very acquired humour. Like Huili. 'Cept hers is a lot lame-r. You live up to your presidential campaign speech, Yanni! I vow never to do anything as lame as that again. Ever.

I sound very monotonous.. Shall inject the rest of this with exclamation marks!
Like that! Like yo! Yo! Wassup, yo!

Fail.

I think I've grown quite a lot stage-wise in the four years. Performing is quite exciting, really. In Sec 1, it was the funny skit we put up during LSC'06, which garnered us a third position. (: That was the first script I wrote in NY! Can't remember the details at all, though; if only we captured that.

Then in Sec 2 there was OM. Ohmygosh (and that sounds very bimbotic) we a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y disliked that at first. Like BLEARGHHHHHHHH-with-a-tongue-sticking-out-face kinda dislike! Shucks man that was in Sec 2, feels like my group members were just over at my house making props yesterday. Thank you for the memories, Sylvia, Carissa, Evelyn, Celine, Tabitha. (: We rocked it. Though we were 0.4 (?) points away from the trophy which SCGS eventually took away, we were winners. And then there was the teachers' day performance that same year, where Phua Chu Kang revived and took the stage. Together with nerdy Hwa Chong boys who were in love with Nanyang girls, the Singapore Airlines and all. 212 owned it man. I think I would have been impressed looking at us.

In Sec 3... er there wasn't anything much. Right? Oh I remember our Wu Niang dance though! Haha! Batch'06's item during the NYGG Teachers' Day Concert. And the lame magic tricks. Epic fail. Epic funny! EH, I still have the video of our performance! I can't upload itttttttttttt keeps failing ): Er.. it's in the hard disk, which is currently spoilt.

Oh there was the Kang Xi and Humpty Dumpty performance in Sec 2 also! Hahahahah sudden recollection. Video's with me as well.. In Sec 2 we also had the sandwich-making competition which we owned. (Y)

And the Salad-making & Skipping Competition in Sec 3. We owned the salad-making too.

Thank God for awesome classes the past four years. 112 '06, 212 '07, 310 '08, 410 '09. Thank you for being so darn amazing and for not having any politics. It's almost like I grew up in Kampongs the past 4 years, with cool simple friends who genuinely cared for one another. Love (:

Okay this post is getting very long; am off to eat my curry puff and then to hit the sack. Will be back soon, hopefully. With cooler stuff, hopefully. A lot more to pen down, on CCA, teachers, friends, and people.

As for now, HUUUUGE day tmrw. Hopefully it doesn't rain and that all will go well (:

I need to find my camera and get my hard disk fixed.

Adios!

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go.

Tired.

Sappy post ahead.

Farewell for now.
'Cos we're leaving on a jetplane; we don't know when we'll be back again.
