Time flies, 2009 was started not long ago and now is the last day of the year. Let me summarize what I did in the year.
Jan- I left Toronto for a new whole term.
Feb- Fighting with my dear for few weeks, until nearly break up.
March- Working hard in food development project- edible candles.
April- End of the term, and got 3 A and B+ and B for 5 courses.
May- Went to Toronto again, visited HighPark for cherry blossom.
June- Started summer school, taking 4 courses in 2 months. Obtained all 3As and 1A+.
July- The happiest moment of the year- WENT BACK HOME. Happy moments such as my birthday celebration, Gopeng trips for white water rafting and waterfall abseiling, bukit tinggi trip for steam boat, genting trip for fun, malacca trip for food, the weekly basket ball and tennis games, the yum cha and mahjong games.
Aug- My dear left to Ireland for his medical program.
Sep- Back to school. Taking 5 courses.
Oct- Start working part-time at Richardson Centre.
Nov- Busy working, gym, and studying.
Dec- Busy preparing final exam. Obtained 4 As so far and waiting for Dr. Sapirtein for the result of Food Seminar. My dear came to visit, and went to Toronto together.
In term of studies, I am satisfied with my performance. The 2009 highlight is always fight with my dear, from the beginning till the last day of the year. Is this something wrong with our relationship?
What I can do is to forget about the unhappiness and looking towards to the new year.

My Farm
I have daily hobby since May this year. I log into facebook just for my farm everyday. I seed, water, harvest my farm and steal people's plants everyday. I had seldom steal people's plant nowadays, because I am too rich. With so much gold earned from my farm, I can afford to buy new houses, animals and decorative items to make my farm pretty. A lot of people think it is stupid, and a waste of time. But I still like it, may be this is just because i like stupid thing. hehe..

My dear 's birthday
22nd of Dec, is my dear's birthday. This is the 3rd time celebrating his birthday with him. Since we are at long distance relationship, we hardly can predict when is our birthday celebration. In stead of staying at home on that day, I brought him to Manitoba's museum. Luckily the weather is not that cold. After the museum, we dined in a Chinese restaurant. We ordered lobster and beef tripe. The food is really good. This is why I like working and earning money, we can enjoy our lives better. I really can't wait to get a full time job after graduate in May next year.
After the dinner, I made him an Orange cake. It was supposed to be a chiffon cake, but the cake does not turn out as soft as a chiffon cake, so I called it a normal cake instead. hehe. I made tang yuan too. Every year of the 22nd Dec, my family will surely make tang yuan together. The last time when I made tang yuan with my family was 2 years ago. I wondered when we will do it together again. Making tang yuan alone is really no fun.

Food
It has been a while since my last blog. I was really busy due to the final exams, working, cooking and cleaning. I put on weight because I don't have time to go to gym and I cook 3 meals a day everyday. I have been bored at cooking, I didn't not know what to cook sometimes. I am like buying the same vege and meat every grocery shopping. That is why I did not upload any picture of my food recently. If I have more time, I wish I can look for recipes online to cook some new dishes.

Customer service
After 15 months living in Canada, I realized that the terms of Customer Service, Customers' right are important everywhere in Canada. Even though, Malaysians in Malaysia keep emphasize on " Customer is always right", but how many people can do what exactly the phrase says?
In Canada, customers have a right to fully refund an item within 30 to 60 days. This happens to any items such as computers, ipods, or cheaper items such as clothing. Customers do not need a reason to return the items. I think this will not happen in Malaysia. The companies in Malaysia will only emphasize on sales and marketing, do there really care about the customers? Even if they do, people who are working with the company, the sales promoter and manager will not serve customers as good as they should be. Blames cannot only apply to these people, but most of the people. If such privilege happen in Malaysia, people who are greedy and selfish will take advantage by cheating or doing it on purpose. The companies will surely lost profits.
There are some other incidents experienced by myself that can make a significant differences of customer services between 2 countries. I went to Red Lobster Restaurant for dinner one day. After the main dish is served, I found there is a piece of hair in the spaghetti. The manager came and apologized. He served me a new plate of the spaghetti immediately and it is free of charge. Because they know it is their mistake, this will spoil their restaurant image and customer trust. I am satisfied with the free meal and the customer service, but I am disappointed at the quality and standard of food.
I remembered that my bf and I dined in the Victoria Station for celebrating our 4th anniversary in Malaysia. He ordered a medium rare steak, and part of the steak is completely cooked. We complained to the manager. We were surprised that the manager do not know how to solve the problem. He just apologized and asked us how he could help. Regardless of how high class the restaurant or how expensive of the meals, there are no quality and standard in term of quality or services that satisfy the customers.
I have another example happened in Canada. My friend found a jacket and decided to buy it. However, there are no price tags, no tags and codes of the jacket and other similar jackets. The manager did not know the price for the jacket too. Then he code the jacket with the cheapest price of that brand.

The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:

And that has made all the difference.
The Road Not Taken" seems to illustrate that once one takes a certain road, there is no turning back. Although one might change paths later on, the past cannot be changed. It can be seen as showing that choice is very important, and is a thing to be considered. And that you will never know what the other path was like, so you may regret never knowing (the sigh), although it was still worth it because you made the right choice by knowing that you were able to exercise your personal freedom and independence.
The poem came across my mind today. It is best described my feeling right now. I started to think about the decisions I have made in my life. There are pros and cons of what we decided. In reality, we cannot have everything we want. Choices are available, but how do we know which choices is best, since we never try both before. After a decision is made, we might gain something that we expected and at the same time we lost or sacrifice on things that we might not even know what they are. I always think too much while making a decision, because I afraid of the unknown lost and I have no confident of what I will gain.
After a decision is made, I always doubt myself. I tried to do my best for the decision I made, but still I keep asking myself whether it is a right thing to do. How can I be a better decision maker? For all my readers, the decisions I mentioned here are general decisions, don't think too much of what the decisions are. Haha..

Corn maze
Last Saturday, I went to a corn maze with a group of Malaysians. After a year in Winnipeg, I am finally be a part of the Malaysian association and joined them for activities.
The corn maze has hunting stations. We are given a punch card, and we need to find the stations in the maze for different punches. The theme for this game is too difficult for us, they are asking about things representing the towns of Manitoba. To increase the challenge, we were group into 2 or 3, and tied our leg up. It wad really difficult to walk in the mud. My partner and I are not Manitobans and we are new comers, so we did not care about the game but just had fun walking in the maze and took some pictures.

Convocation
There was a convocation in the campus last week. Even though it was not my convo, I was still as happy as people who graduating. It was my first time attending a convo ceremony. I thought it would be bored to attend such ceremony. Speeches are expected to be bored and long. It would be long ceremony since hundreds students would go onto the stage to receive their honor. However, I found that some of the phrases spoken by the speakers are really meaningful and motivating. The honor receiving process is cheerful and meaningful. The feeling will be stronger if i am the one on stage. I am really looking forward for my convo in May next year. ( To all my friends there, you are welcome to come to Canada for my convo, hehe)

Twilight and WOW
After watching the twilight movie, I have decided to read the book instead. I believed that the book will be much nicer than the movie. It is extremely true. I bought the book last week, it was unbelievable that I can finish reading the whole book in 10 days. I could read faster if I have no assignments or midterm this week. I like to read the book so much until I was not willing to sleep and study.
Now, I am happy to that it comes to an end. I do not want to buy the 2nd book so soon, because I have to concentrate more on my studies and I need to spare some time for world of warcraft. I decided to play the WOW again after stopped for 6 months. This time I will play on a US server. I am still wondering to be a priest or warlock. haha. cant wait for that.

Wedding Pictures
My friend is getting marry at the end of the year. He sent me his wedding pictures online. They are so lovely. Congratulation to you, Chong. I knew him not long ago, knew him because he is my "home computer technician". I called him when my connection broke down, my printer is jammed, when my computer has virus, when I want to buy a mouse, graphic card, monitor or change a new computer. He handled almost all the problems of my home computers. Since I am such a noob at handling computer, we then became friends. Thanks for doing all this..HAHA.
I am not sure how other people think about wedding pictures. I like them very much, I am happy whenever I see someone's wedding pictures, especially my friends one . I love to see the creativity of professional photographers and stylist. When I see wedding pictures, I like to look into the couple's posture, the eye contacts and the smile.
I need to have nice wedding pictures when I get marry too. To be honest, I can't wait for my turn to take wedding pictures. HAHA.. " wink wink at my dear"...

Incredible night mare
I awake from a series of night mares this morning. I was so afraid in the dream until I cried. I can't fall asleep further, I on all 4 lights in my room. Bright make me feel safe. I think this night mare is the most " SCARY" one that I had before.
Many of my friends know I don't like cats, I afraid of cat. I won't allow any cat come near me. But I never know I hate cats until this much. I killed a cat in my dream. The cat was annoying, and I cut off its head alive. All the blood splash on my face and clothes. After I have done, I laugh with pleasure. I threw away my tainted clothes and walk across a highway. A pedestrian who was walking 5 secs ahead of me was hit by a car seriously. He died immediately in front of me his blood flow underneath my shoes. The dream continues. I walked to school, I saw a lot of people standing at the top of a tall apartment. After 2 secs, those people were jump from the and kill themselves together. Some of them fall directly to the ground, some of them fell on the antenna and died. I was so afraid and scared at the situation, it was like REAL. And suddenly, somebody talked to me and said " HELLO". I recognized it was an old man's voice. It was so real,I woke up from the dream. It was like somebody talking to me and woke me up.
I keep asking myself to be stronger. Since I am living alone and my housemates are always not at home, I should learn not to afraid so much. However, this dream terrified me and I need time to recover to be strong again.
Now is in the evening. I am tired but I don't dare to sleep.....

First SNOW in Winnipeg 2009
The first snowy day in Winnipeg 2009 was earlier than we expected. The weather and temperature changed really fast. I was still able to walk to school, slept with a fan on without blanket by the end of the September. After 2 weeks, the temperature fall below 0 degree C. The rain was replaced by snow. The snow flakes fall from the sky, it was so beautiful. I will never feel irritated to see snow. The snow flakes are so tidy, soft and fragile. I was standing under the snow for 10 minutes, enjoying the flakes fall onto my palm, they turn into crystal clear water in seconds. The feeling was fantastic, I forgot about the cold in such a wonderful scene. After few hours of snow, the cars, trees and entire land were covered by few inches of snow, turn everything into white. White simplified as purity and cleanliness. I love the nature, I love the snow. The snow had brighten my day.

A field trip
I went to a field trip to SkyBlue bottle water company located far away from Winnipeg. It took 2 hours drive from our campus, had an hour tour at the plant and took another 2 hours to come back. It was such a long journey, but luckily it is worth going. The plant size is not big, there are only less than 10 workers. However, the machinery and equipments are highly technical.
The water originates in a protected aquifer found deep in the pristine forest of Manitoba’s Sandilands. The PET bottles are formed from preform, and they are then blew off using compressed air and formed the bottle. The water is filtered and ozonated to remove impurity. The rinsing, filling, capping, labeling, cartoning, pelleting are all done automatically. There are only 2 to 5 people working in the plant to control the whole system.

A tiring day
I had never feel tired since I am back from Malaysia. I am very satisfied and feel contented today, because I have a pack schedule without wasting much of my time. I woke up at 6am and caught the bus at 6.34am just on time to reach my working place. Today is my first day working at the Richardson Centre. My task for today is highly IMPORTANT even though it is super boring which is dish washing. I have spent 4 hours washing, drying and storing the tupperwares. I am not complaining about my job, because I expected to do something like this as I am just a beginner.
After working and classes, I went back home and cooked a delicious lunch. I seldom cook nowadays,I was really enjoy the cooking moment just now. May be I should start cooking and stop eating instant noodles. After lunch, I played an hour of piano. It was really enjoying because I could play as loud as I want, since nobody is at home. I went back to school for a talk and went to gym after that.
I am tired but I am happy with such a life. I decided to go to gym 4 times a week. I bought a netbook today, I will receive it by tomorrow. It is to reward myself for starting working. hehe, even though I haven't get the pay yet. After having the netbook, I will stay in school and library more often, so that I can still do well in school while working 12 hours a week.
It is time to sleep, because I am hungry. :(

The lonely mooncake festival
Yesteday was mooncake festival. I felt extremly lonely. I took bus to bank early morning, went to library searching for books, went to gym for fitness class, came home, ate lunch, did assignment all by myself. I starting to get use to be alone. Last time, I dont like to be alone, but now I have grown up, I enjoying the loneliness sometime.
Yesterday, I went out to watch twilight with malaysian friends. Surpringly it is nice, I received bad feedbacks from my friends, so I had very low expectation of the movie. A lot of friends said the book is very well writen, and nicer than the movie. I have decided to buy the books and start reading the entire story.

The desperate housewives
I have finished watching the entire series of the Desperate Housewives. It was few years ago when I first watching the drama. All this while, the desperate housewives have become my entertainment source, especially when I am alone in Canada.
My dear will say it is a stupid drama, but still it is one of my favorite series. It brought me joy and taken away my loneliness when I was watching it. So I don't describe it as stupid but funny. These women in the series have told me the reality of human and the world. Things change dramatically just like what was shown in the series. Nothing is perfect....
The perfect woman, Bree was not perfect after all when she starting to have an affair with Karl who is Susan's ex husband. Edie, whom has been described as " One of a kind" had die in an accident. Susan, the most troublesome and stupid woman in the series is very lucky to have a good husband who is willing to remarry her. Gabrielle is a materialistic women and always proud of her beauty, is willing to sacrifice when her husband had be blind for years. Lynette, a selfish women whom will only sacrifice for family, has the perfect love story.
Among the 5 desperate housewives, I like Edie the best. It is because she is not as stupid as others and a straight forward person. She is kind in her bottom heart even though she din show this in her personal character. I hate Susan the most, because she is very stupid at her action and thinking. I like the best couple "Lynett and Tom", because they loves each other very well.
After all, I will watch a new series---- Gossip girls.

The End of the Summer
The summer is Winnipeg is too short that I barely can remember the warmth I had. Before I leave Winnipeg in July, the trees and grass were just turned green, the worms were re survived. The sun was not hot till I would sweat over. The wind was still strong until we can hardly enjoy our each time.
This morning, as I step out from the apartment, I felt the cold of the winter. The leaves on the trees are all fell to the grounds, left with some naked branches.
This is coming too fast. The winter is just around the corner. Our winter jackets that stored in the closet for months are now ready to be used.
I used to like winter, because I like snowing. However, I am feeling sad that the summer is gone way too fast. I miss my summer time in Malaysia. Even though it was hot, but we had a lot of fun by having outdoor activities. Now, it is time to be dormant in my room again.

Happy day

A whole new Term
I have started a new term last Monday. As usual, I am taking 5 courses with 3 labs. It was supposed to be less busy than my previous term which was 5 courses with 5 labs, but I am as busy as usual because courses that I now taking are all 4th year courses. 8 more months to graduate, I am rather to be busy than having time to worry about my future.
I have my revolution for this term, I want to score at least an A in all courses to increase my CGPA. I am happy that I got scholarship and bursaries for previous term that worth $1300. This money has motivated me to study and not thinking of working. However, since this is my last year of schooling after about 18 years of education, I need to be more active in school. I have applied for gym membership and I will start going to gym. I have lose weigh, but my ideal goal is 40 to 42 kg. Hehe
I am back from Malaysia since last Saturday, I had recovered from jet lag recently. I am happy to think of the wonderful time I had in Malaysia, it was like a dream. The 28 hours flight trip was like a night mare, woke me up from the fantastic dream and then I am back to my usual life in Winnipeg. Thanks to my lovely dear, family and friends, I miss you guys. I am sorry for not be able to see some of my friends, but don't worry I will be back in future. We can always keep in touch through msn.

LOVE, FAITH & TRUST
Love is an emotions, experiences related to a sense of strong affection. It is difficult to define the word of love. By google LOVE, there are four types of love described generally. There are Affection, Friendship, Eros and Charity.
Affection= It is described as the most natural, emotive and widely diffused of loves. eg: family love.
Friendship= It is the love between interaction, bonding between two people. This love is normally built by having the same interest and beliefs.
Eros= It is love in the sense of " being in love". It is well described by the feeling of " appreciation" rather than " pleasure".
Charity= It is an unconditional love. Love naturally regardless of circumstance and reasons.
After defining these types of love, I think it is not right to ask " why do you love me". Because true love should be charity, love should not have a reason. In fact, if a relationship has included these four types of love, it is still not perfect if there is no faith and trust. What are faith and trust then?
Faith is defined as the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea or thing. I think my dear's definition is better to be understood. He said faith is a belief of existing of something even though there is no reason to belief so. (dear, Correct me if i defined inappropriate). It is in general the persuasion or assent of the mind to the truth of a statement. Even though faith is always a term use in religion, it can apply in love and relationship.
Finally, it is " Trust". It is an easier term to understand the meaning. It is defined as a relationship of reliance. It is trust when you assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something. When you have a confidence in a person, means you trust the person.
In conclusion, to love a person perfectly no matter of what kind of relationship, always remember love, faith and trust. Start to think for yourself, do you love a person with all these conditions?

The days without my dear
He left on Monday, till now I could not reach him through phone nor internet. I managed to talk to him for about 15 seconds with unclear signal and the line broken down after that. This is our 7th times being separated by distance. I became stronger each time he leave me, I remembered that when he left me for the first time, I had been crying for days.
For the past 2 months, we appreciated every single minutes and spend most of the time together. Now , he left, I felt emptiness and moody. I still have 24 days in Malaysia before flying off, I know i should appreciate the time in Malaysia, I should spend more time with friends and family. But I wondering why I did nothing ever since he left me, I did not make any effort to ask friends out. I started to miss schooling again, because when I am busy with studies, I wont feel emptiness and it is terrible. I hope he can have his internet connection as soon as possible. So I can stop waiting in front of the computer from day to night.

Bukit Tinggi and Genting Trip 25/7/2009
During the 3rd weekend, we went to Bukit tinggi in the evening. We had steamboat as dinner and they play truth or dare for the whole night while I was sleeping. I missed a lot of interesting happenings and their secrets. But i had a good sleep. haha..
The next day, we went to Genting. This was my first time buying First world indoor tickets and played bumper cars, motion master, boats...and so on.

Gopeng Trip 18/7/2009
I am too busy nowadays and always forget to keep my blog updated. This is my 3rd week back in Malaysia, I having a good time here with friends. We have plans for every weekend. The first weekend was my dear's house party, second weekend was the Gopeng Trip, third weekend was bukit tinggi and Genting trip and 4th weekend is karaoke days, 5th weekend will be Malacca eating trip ( everyone is welcome, bring money and mouth only), 6th weekend is the last weekend before my dear leaves, and have no plan yet.
This blog is about Gopeng Trip, 16 people going, all are ming sheng's friends. During the trip, we had a lot of fun. First activity was waterfall abseiling. This is my first time doing waterfall abseiling, I was worried and scared because the Cliff is quite high and the water is quite strong. It was quite easy and not that scary while abseiling. This activity is costly and not really worth, but we had fun together.
We had a nigh jungle tracking, the trail was not easy to hike because it was a new route. When we walked across the palm oil plantation, we were asked to turn off our torch light. We walked in the dark with hand holding. This is to avoid snakes. The first part of the walk was really difficult but the light-off part was quite challenging.
At night, we played charades. We plit into 2 groups and compete with one another. Some words are really hard to guess and hard to act such as prenuptial agreement, ABC and Barak Obama. Some words are interesting and funny, such as internet porn, pontianak，佛山无影脚。
The next day, we had 3 hours of white water rafting. The river is quite rocky and the water is rapidly flow. However, the water level is not high on that day, our raft was stuck at the rocky places. We went home after lunch. This trip is fun and remind me of time of the National Service's .

BBQ party at Dear's house
After 7 days of self quarantined since we came back from Canada, we held a bbq party at dear's place to meet his friends and have fun together. I was supposed a project manager for this party. Unfortunately, I was fired and became a "Food Manager" because I had lost all contacts and failed to ask people come over to the party. Luckily the BOSS (my dear) did the job well and about 20 over friends come over to the party.
As a food manager, I did not do my job well too. It is because I do not know what food normally eat during bbq. I prepared corn and zucchini, but end up nobody actually appreciated them. HAHA..I did not know how to estimate the amount of food, I have prepared 50 pieces of chicken wings but only 30 of them are used. However, the party was quite successful, I think most of us had fun while bbqing, karaoking, mah-jonging, and drinking.

My result for summer term
When I first enrolled the summer classes, many of my friends said I am crazy because I was enrolling 4 classes in summer term, which is in 2 months basis. I was wondering whether I could manage it, because I want to score good grades for all courses. Since, I am taking a minor degree in Nutrition, I have to take 3 nutrition course in the summer. I was worried about the difference, the difficulty and so on. Finally, the results are out, I am quite satisfied with it.
HNSC 1200 : Food- facts and fallacies = A+
HNSC 1210 : Nutrition for Health and Changing Lifestyles = A
HNSC 2140 : Basic Principles of Human Nutrition = A
PHIL 1290 : Critical Thinking = A
In HNSC 1200 : Food- facts and fallacies, I learnt things that I learnt. This course was about food chemistry, food microbiology, food safety and food analysis. Since I have taken a full course of those, this course is very easy to me. I score 98.5% in my midterm. This is my first A + in UOM. Hopefully I can get more A+.
HNSC 1210 : Nutrition for Health and Changing Lifestyles. The title of the course explains what the course about. I have learnt a lot of useful information from this course. I knew about all the macro and micronutrients. Memorised the food sources, usefulness and toxicity of all vitamins and minerals. Therefore, I can apply the knowledge in my life and change my lifestyles into a healthy one.
HNSC 2140 : Basic Principles of Human Nutrition. I love this course the most for this term. It is a very challenging course. Before taking the course, many students from nutrition faculty said it is a killer course. After I gone through the syllabus, I already feel interested. I learnt something very different from food. This course is all about the body metabolism, applying all the metabolic pathway like creb cycles, glycolysis, gluconeogenesis and others. After taking the course, I knew how the macro and micronutrients being metabolised in our body, and how our body adapt to different states of fastening.
PHIL 1290: Critical Thinking. This is another challenging course, because this course requires a lot of thinking and skills. I think I have learnt something very useful, it allows me to improve my understanding towards the texts and easily identify the fallacies made by authors. It was a tough course, I was so happy to get A for this course.

28 hours of flight
Last Thursday 2nd July, My dear and I were flying back home from Winnipeg. Total travel time was 29 hours.
From Winnipeg to Vancouver = 3 hours
Waiting at Vancouver airport = 8 hours
From Vancouver to HongKong= 13 hours
Waiting at HongKong airport = 3 hours
From Hong Kong to KLIA = 3.5 hour
This is my 4th time having long hours flight, luckily this time was with my dear. I had a lot of fun throughout the whole journey, we had some advantures and did some stupid things. From Winnipeg to Malaysia, we were landing at 4 different airports, I have took a lot of pictures throughout the journey make this 28 hours flight more meaningful and unforgotten. This is my first time flying with my dear. However, the only bad thing was we were not sitting together at the plane from Vancouver to Hong Kong. It was because the lady who sit next to him refused to exchange seat with me who was sitting one seat infront of her. I hate this lady ever, she made me separate from my dear for 13 hours. Wuwu.

This is my 4th time having long hours flight, luckily this time was with my dear. I had a lot of fun throughout the whole journey, we had some advantures and did some stupid things. From Winnipeg to Malaysia, we were landing at 4 different airports, I have took a lot of pictures throughout the journey make this 28 hours flight more meaningful and unforgotten. This is my first time flying with my dear. However, the only bad thing was we were not sitting together at the plane from Vancouver to Hong Kong. It was because the lady who sit next to him refused to exchange seat with me who was sitting one seat infront of her. I hate this lady ever, she made me separate from my dear for 13 hours. Wuwu.
