Review of my 2008 resolution

I wrote this resolution in my private blog, now I dig it out and check whehter I have full fill my them.

Score A for all the subjects, and maintain my percentage average at 80% and above.

Hmm, obviously I failed to do so. May be I set my target too high, which is hard to achieve. But my dear said I should set the target higher and try my best to achieve it. I think I have tried my very best this year, out of 8 courses i got 3 A, 3B+ and 2 B. I will try harder in 2009.

Face all the challenges bravely

I am happy that I have face all the challenges bravely this year. I met a lot of problems, however I have tried my best to solve them.

Start doing exercises, swimming jogging, badminton for at least once a week.

I had partially failed in this one. However, I have done some exercises like sit ups and stretching alone in my room.

Be more friendly and get to know more friends.

This is full-filled. I found that I met quite a lot of friends this year. :)

See all my friends before I leave to Canada.

This is partially full-filled. Right before I leave, I did not meet the form 6 buddies and some others. It was because they are having exams.

Stay more in library in stead of staying at home.

This is partially full-filled. I stay in library more than last year, however sometimes I was too lazy to do so especially in UOM. My room is even more quiet than the library.

Save more money for going to Canada.

I have failed in this one. I did not save money for going to Canada. I spent quite a lot at buying things to bring over and spend a lot at fuel, karaoke, movies, dinner, travelling with friends. I did not regret for doing so, because things in Canada is more expensive, and I did not have such enjoyable moment in Canada. Luckily I played a lot before I leave. :)

Look out for a part time job to earn extra money

I have failed doing so. Before I leave I made the decision for not wokring partime, because I want to have more time with my family and friends, and settle my school things smoothly. When I am in Canada, I did not find any part time job for money, however I participated in voluntary work. By doing so, I can explore myself more and meet more people.

Learn cooking as much as possible especially food that my dear likes.

I have done this one. I like cooking for my love one. When I was in Malaysia, I learnt quite some sepcial dish from my aunt. When I was in Canada, I read recipe book and browse web for new recipes to learn new stuff. Recently, I was happy that my dear likes my cooking and I think he put on weight even though I was here with him for less than 2 weeks.

Bye Bye 2008

Today is the last day of 2008, I have had a habit since I was 10 years old, I like to recall interesting events of the year and what I have done that year.

Jan - April

I had my last semester in UCSI. I met a lot of friends from food sciences and engineering programme. My application of transferring credits started, I had a lot of problems of transferring credits, some credits are not transferable and I was suffer while waiting for offer letter from UOM. I had a hard time in that semester in UCSI, because of the uninteresting courses and bad lecturers.

May-June

I had two months holiday before I leave for Canada. During this period, I had good time with my family and friends. I had a lot of farewell with different group of friends. The schedule in the month of June is almost fulled with "appointments":) . In June 19th, I went to Canada.

June- August

This period is my most enjoyable period. It is because I finally reunion with my dear who has not seen for 9 months and solved all the problems of credits transfer. I was happy to go travelling with my dear and his family. We went to Wiarton and Montreal.

Sept- Dec

This period is really tough because I was in the new environment without knowing anyone. However, this is the time I learnt a lot, I tried my best to achieve my goals. Finally, I have no problems in both of my academy and social. I met quite a lot of friends and I could handle all the school works even though it was really tough.

Dec 16th -Dec 31

This period is my second sweet romance period of the year. The relationship with my dear became stronger every time we reunion. It is because we suffered during separation, when it is time to reunion, we appreciate each other even better. I cooked good foods for him, he brought me shopping and travelling even though he prefer to stay at home always.

Summary

This year is really a memorable year for me, my life changed and my knowledge and circle of friends have broaden. I have improved at handling problems and decision making, I feel I have really grown up this year.

US Trip- Day 4- Penn's Cave - Toronto

America's only all-water cavern and wildlife park are nestled in Central Pennsylvania's scenic Penn State Country. The cavern tour is a guided one-hour tour by motorboat on an underground stream. Along the limestone corridors, stalagmites, stalactites, flowstone cascades and draperies decorate the interior rooms.

The legend

In the early eighteenth century, a young Frenchmen from Lancaster County, Malachi Boyer, set out to explore the wilderness. He roamed into the forests peopled by redskins, with whom he was friendly.

One beautiful April, Malachi was camped at Mammoth Spring, near the Indian camp of Chief O-Ko-Cho. O-Ko-Cho had seven sons and one beautiful daughter, Nita-nee, whom the sons guarded carefully all the time. One day Malachi caught sight of Nita-nee washing a deerskin in the stream and immediately fell in love with her. Since the Indians would not permit their marriage, they decided to run away, and late one night, they departed for the eastern settlements. They were later captured by the seven brothers and were returned to Chief O-Ko-Cho.

O-Ko-Cho commanded his sons to take Malachi into a yawning cavern filled with water and thrust him in. Every day for a week he swam back and forth searching vainly for an entrance other than the large one guarded by the merciless Indians. Then exhausted by his efforts and vowing that the Indians should not see him die, he crawled into one of the furthermost recesses of the cavern and breathed his last. The brothers did not touch the body except to weight it with stones and drop it in the deepest water in the cavern.

After these many years, those who have heard the legend declare that on still summer nights an unaccountable echo still rings through the cavern which sounds like "Nita-nee -- Nita-nee".

US Trip - Day 1 - From Toronto to Boston

My bf , his sister and I joined a 4 days 3 night chinese tour to US. On the 20th of Dec,We took public bus from a subway station to a mall where the tour started. The bus was supposed to depart at 6.30am. However, we were late due to the public bus was driven too slowly.

After 2 hour, we passed by Niagara's falls and crossed over the border of Canada into US. All of us waiting for 1 hour there because my dear has problem at the US Custom. It is because he is a MALAYSIAN, who is from a ISLAMIC COUNTRY. Therefore, he was sustained and questioned for longer time. After that, he was allowed to cross the border under a condition. He has to go to the US Custom office when the tour is finished.

That day was a long day sitting in the bus. From Toronto to Boston has to take about 10 hours included lunch time and rest time stops. So when we reached the Boston was already 7pm. We went to QUINCY market for dinner. It is a place full of food and souvenir stalls. We had a delicious dinner there. The atmosphere of this place is fascinated with white Christmas atmosphere.
