Toowomba & Roma
Tomorrow at exactly 3.00 pm the coach departs from Brisbane Transit Centre. A huge monster on wheels carrying with it people of different kinds and ages. Some familiar with the trip and some eager first-timers. Destination is Toowomba and it takes approximately 2 hours to get there. The first-timers have been seduced by the tales of beautiful, flower-full scenery. Though packing things for a week have been a hassle and a pain, they now are in a state of complacent-ness that nothing can strike them down. Not even the horror of not knowing how to get to their lodgings nor the strangeness of an unfamiliar place.
Roma will be a similar story though the trip takes 8 hours and duration of stay is 6 weeks. Even less information has been given about housing except for the minute detail that bed linen isn't provided. It'll be fun, for sure, acting as tourists for which they most certainly are on the weekends. And learning (hopefully) something during the week.

Week-long holiday
Today is the second day of the week-long break in between rotations. Next up is rural and i've still haven't organised how i'm going to get to Toowomba and Roma. I've looked up trains to Roma but seems like it takes forever to get there: depart at 7.30 pm and arrive at 6.30 am the next day. And that's only available on tuesday and thursdays. A plane trip there would be more expensive (2-3x the cost of train) but way faster (1 hour and 15 mins only). I haven't checked coaches yet. Maybe there's still hope. Or maybe we should just rent a car to get there. We'll see.
Yesterday was uneventful. We went to Myer coz the sale was going on, looked at watches, accessories and perfumes but didn't get anything there. I did get some toiletries from priceline though.
My exams were sucky. I was grilled for my long case, didn't know what the poor man had for the lower limb neuro short, mind you my mind went blank and i forgot all about UMN and LMN lesions, and, i think, did okay for my cardio short. The only reason i think i did okay-ish for cardio short was because we had seen so many cardio patients. I just hope i pass the rotation. I am stressed out about my results. Hopefully the examiners are nice enough to pass me. I don't care about 6s or 7s.
We all celebrated Hana's birthday at Ahmet's last sunday night. Good food and i had a nice time talking to badi who i hadn't seen for quite some time. Will post pics when i get some from mai. Love lots.

Exams sooooooooon..
Hey all. My exams are coming up. In a few days, i'll be at the Mater hospital in the arvo doing my long case and then the two short cases straight after. I just hope i can get through it all fine. I've been freaking out and stressing about the whole she-bang. There's just so much to learn and things to practise. I'm not polished and not-so-good at presenting my findings. Plus, i hope i'm able to answer any questions they fire at me. Wish me luck.

Year of the Rat 2008
Happy Chinese New Year to one and all. I've been to a couple of events: My belated birthday gathering, Nora's graduation ceremony and on last friday night celebrated Chinese New Year, not really celebrate just a gathering with the girls. Pics are not available here yet. Check out mai's blog.
I've been feeling stressed out by my current rotation; med. Its like a full time job from 8 to 5 most days. Plus, we're expected to know and remember what has been taught for the past two years and more. When i get home, i just feel so tired and want to sleep but there's still studying to do and things to look up. Plus cooking dinner and getting ready clothes for tomorrow. Hopefully i'll adapt to this kind of lifestyle and can get through okay.

Studying efforts
I've been slow in reading stuff. There must be a way to make it all better. I've been sleeping during the day, you-tubing, surfing, listening to the radio and not really studying. Exams are coming soon and i need to step my game up. I don't watch a lot of tv anymore but still manage to distract myself from studying. :( And i've been feeling stressed about it all. Yea. I'm just ranting on about not studying. Happy studying to everyone else!
